Title: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 7 July 2009, 14:39:39 I know. I never make new topics. But holy crap look at this flash game (still in progress):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIMyDCAhpQw If this were an actual Mega Man X game it looks like it would be the easiest Mega Man X ever. Too many special moves. But this is also the best-looking fan-made Mega Man X I've seen, I invite you to show me one better if there is one. There are problems with it, clearly. I mean, programming-wise. Some shots don't seem to come out of the buster, rather a point near his elbow. Game is said to take place after X5, screw X6 and all the later stuff. So likely no Axl. I've seen Zero gameplay, too, which looks... not good. Doesn't look like they bothered to give him a lightsabre combo, the video just shows him using special moves, but this all may change. The levels also seem ridiculously huge, if it works that way. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted & Mega Man 2.5 Post by: Kuchiri on 7 July 2009, 19:05:06 Wow, I would have always loved if I could mix and matched the armor from X5....
Looks like it will be a keeper. Since we are talking about custom Mega Flash games...I might want to add this in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6KMAm_228s Hopefully it isn't old news. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 7 July 2009, 19:33:17 Maj, that game looks sick.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: TheOnly on 7 July 2009, 20:51:42 Mix armors? Am going check that out when I get home.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 7 July 2009, 23:06:56 It's not playable yet; no demo.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: TheOnly on 7 July 2009, 23:23:58 That killed my hopes in playing it, oh well, back to playing DW:Gundam 2.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: ChaosVortex on 12 July 2009, 07:04:53 That's a VERY interesting concept for a 16-bit X game. That looks like what X3 should've been.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Mikero on 12 July 2009, 07:25:59 X3 is fine the way it is.
But from the bit I saw this looks pretty nice. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: ChaosVortex on 12 July 2009, 15:51:01 Right, but it's still no X1 or X2. It's kinda bland here and there.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: TheOnly on 12 July 2009, 16:51:32 I like how the guy made Zero, sooo kick ass.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 12 July 2009, 23:01:06 A bit of searching leads me to...: A MAVERICK LIST.
http://www.jkbgames.com/images/megaman/8Bosses.png I don't like them very much. So X has three armors if you include the ultimate armor, and apparently Zero has one of his own. Where he's all purple. Not much seems to change except his helmet, but there hasn't been any video regarding his abilities, though there might be one soon. Not sure if this means he has upgrade capsules to find. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: ChaosVortex on 12 July 2009, 23:53:32 I like Warfare Milodon.
The rest go from "okay" to "meh" to "ew". Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 13 July 2009, 00:15:05 I don't think the main guy is doing the spriting for the bosses, really.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Mikero on 13 July 2009, 02:45:48 I dislike all the Mavericks. They stink of cheap recolours.
But of course, I clearly "hate everything". Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 13 July 2009, 03:09:14 Well, they aren't good sprites. None of them seem fitting at all to 16 bit Mega Man X. Which is unfortunate, because the creator said he doesn't plan on working on them further. His quote:
: JKB Games Sprites can always be improved, but I actually want to release this game, and I think they are good enough. By the way, what's the difference between okay and meh? Anyway I actually like Plasma Puffer. If his sprite was better I'd like him more, sure... but I think it's the best. Hilarious though how there's a league difference in style between Milodon and the other bots. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 13 July 2009, 03:12:41 Mike?
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 13 July 2009, 03:14:23 Mike thinks I'm Sano.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Mikero on 13 July 2009, 03:24:11 Nah I was just making on offhand remark. And if that cat was half-black and more humanoid then yes John.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 13 July 2009, 03:40:12 I'd use photoshop but I don;t have it installed on Windows 7.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Mikero on 13 July 2009, 03:44:14 It's true, I H^– ING
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 13 July 2009, 03:45:18 I try.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 6 September 2009, 19:19:19 New video. Doesn't look like it's even possible to die, but:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc9aRaC1cHQ Okay wait, yeah. It is possible to die. There's at least two potential cheap deaths I see. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: NovaMan XP on 6 September 2009, 19:24:32 Video's taking forever to load for me, but the 3 seconds I saw so far actually look good.
EDIT: Looks fun, but that Viral Armor thing is WAY too broken. Invincibility if you stand still for a second, basically an "Undershirt" from BN (Viral Last Stand). And the amount of moves it has (unless those are all boss moves... but still). But it still looks like a lot of fun, despite the lack of difficulty. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 6 September 2009, 19:46:24 Regular Zero pulled out quite a few of those moves so I'm assuming the others are boss moves as well.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 3 October 2009, 22:46:24 Oh god.
The music. Beautiful. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 28 March 2010, 20:50:56 Oh right.
http://www.youtube.com/user/hellghost000 - For speed paintings, and http://www.youtube.com/user/NitroFlasher - For music. I dislike that this guy seems to use the same sound for every main melody. But my favourites are Gloomy Light Swamp and X's theme. Posted on: 3 October 2009, 23:15:54 Looking at NitroFlasher's stuff again. I see he's posted some metal-style covers of songs from MMX. RMX: Metal - Chill Penguin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3D1dMOHCe0 RMX: Metal - Dr. Light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN7HjCI6-1o RMX: Metal - Storm Eagle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLWTZjkDOYs The game's still being worked on. The last video out was one of Black Zero. It was referred to as the Black Armor. I forgive that. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: czoom on 15 May 2010, 22:36:39 Yeah I think they need to increase the difficulty by a lot.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 16 May 2010, 04:28:19 They set the difficulty levels by Hunter Rank. You pick S to get really fast moving enemies and take more damage.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 20 August 2011, 16:05:44 I've been listening to the music composed by Nitroflasher for this game.
Holy #####. Never have I gotten chills from listening to the music this good. Not even Storm Eagle can compare to this. Force Starfish is a #####ing masterpiece. LISTEN TO IT! ALL OF IT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwKN9rSryhY Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 21 August 2011, 04:08:10 Dude, it's not that good... I mean I love it for what it is, but it's got nothing on the OST for MMX. For one, NitroFlasher seems to favour all of the same soundfonts for the main melodies, with a few exceptions. I think that's a mistake.
(EDIT: Apparently I've already said that, but it's worth repeating.) All the same, I love Hurricane Hoatzin's Skyway theme and Plasma Puffer's Sewer Facility theme, among others that I've mentioned, and I like him as a composer in general. I feel like he's shining over everything that's happening with MMX: Corrupted right now, and his MMX metal mixes on top of that are awesome. He's also got some cool Ocarina of Time-style songs intended for a hack project, like the Overture of Wind and the Hymn of Ice. (Even though I just noticed they both end on the exact same pitch which is weird.) The music preview for the Ice Temple is also pretty creepy. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 24 August 2011, 01:58:04 I guess our taste in Music differs then. However most of the music composed by Nitro sounds...dare I say it, better than the X series itself.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 25 August 2011, 07:29:10 You make dangerous claims sir.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaRwxM_OiG8 I actually cried listening to this. That's how beautiful Dominic's music is in this game. I can't wait for an OST for this game. And I can't wait for this game to be released. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 22 February 2012, 00:12:29 That is some KILLER music.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 22 February 2012, 00:16:07 My faves are the new Warfare Milodon, Sparkling Scorpio, Neurohack Mosquito, Hurricane Hoatzin, and Gloomy Light Swamp. Plus Force Starfish is pretty bitchin.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 8 September 2014, 10:32:07 I'm almost in tears.

Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Majikn on 2 January 2023, 15:36:42 I've been avoiding this for a long time now with the hope that I'll avoid spoilers for when it releases but this popped into my feed today and I checked out the first 9 minutes or so.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pk-DsDpiBo I'm very impressed by that intro stage. And yes... they're STILL working on this. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: TheRedPriest on 3 January 2023, 21:10:17 I saw that as well. It looks like it's a full on Metroidvania with Mega Man X flavor. I wasn't sure just how dedicated the direction for it was, but this does a very good job of showing it. Still don't really like the Mavericks or armors though. Otherwise, it's amazing visually, the sprite work is spot on for SNES.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 4 January 2023, 01:53:26 The music is really good. Especially the """""stage select""""" music. Sounds like something exactly from X1.
Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 5 January 2023, 02:13:49 I've been avoiding this for a long time now with the hope that I'll avoid spoilers for when it releases but this popped into my feed today and I checked out the first 9 minutes or so. Scrubbed through this, didn't wanna spoil too much because I want to play this so friggin bad right now. Real pumped about this game, looking forward to the release! It looks like it will hit all my nostalgia tickle spots real hard. Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 6 January 2023, 01:37:22 *Implying it will come out in your lifetime*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Johncarllos on 6 January 2023, 02:06:42 *Implying it will come out in your lifetime* I'm 33, I have time! I'm not Rez! Title: Re: Mega Man X: Corrupted Post by: Xero on 6 January 2023, 08:22:18 Oh wait. You were serious.
