Ok then, how about a Team Fortress 2 game or two? I just got the Orange Box for 15 dollars the other day and played through Portal quick as hell. Now I want to try some TF2, problem is there's not many people on when I check, and those that are are quite unforgiving to newbies like me who are trying to learn what he's doing...

Besides the obvious controller=/=keyboard, what's the difference? I find the control difference to not be too bad. Though I must admit I've only really played Half-Life, TFC, and Sauerbraten with keyboard and mouse.

Lower playercount limit, no dedicated servers, etc.

I don't really have a reason to buy a 360 in the first place, but even if I did, Live pisses me off and they would have to nuke it to seal my purchase.

Fatso is right, I think online gaming should be free. I already paid for the damn game, yea? I shouldn't have to pay extra so I can PLAY it the way I want to. In that, I think Live is stupid and I'd probably not buy a gold account since In don't totally care for online gaming in the first place. But this is free trial so whatever.

I have no problem with paying for an online service since I believe it's a reasonable business approach for them.

I just don't care enough to play any game online at all. The idea bores me and seems very, very shallow. All this focus on multiplayer is destroying what I like about gaming.

Even craphat PS3 people got it right and put online play as free. Even if you can consider it a decent business approach, it's clearly bad capitalism that they don't have comparative prices (free) with their competitors.

I'm really only adding people for the #####s, and to see what my friends like as we'll then be able to talk about it.

$50 a year isn't bad though, and they have the best online service.

Don't forget that PCs get the same standard of online service for free in the vast majority of cases.

That would be great if it were true. Even GameSpy Arcade was better than what I've seen of Live.

Having seen and witnessed all three extensively, though not caring to play on any of them, XBOX Live is definitely the best of the three. The Marketplace is also the best and easiest to use.

The Wii's is the worst... but I love the Virtual Console so much that I'll never TRULY admit that it's the worst. Even if I just did.

The Wii's is pretty bad... but the only one I've seen it being so bad would be Brawl. Mario Kart Wii seems to runs pretty well with 12 people. And Animal Crossing doesn't seem to have any problems, but I've only tried it with up to 3 people at once.

Wii's got the best downloadable games, but friend codes make the online play rubbish, and it's got no hard drive for demos.

Xbox has the most robust online gaming service.

PS3 isn't either of the above systems.  All it has is MGS4.  Still.

The only online thing that's decent on the Wii is the Shopping Channel. Everything else is meh. I'm not of big fan of the XBox Live Marketplace so far, it can be weird with titles and stuff so the easiest way for me to find something I want is to just sift through EVERYTHING.

As for playing, Wii's online is more than garbage, but not much. I haven't tried PS3 and I probably never will, but what I've SEEN of XBox Live gameplay is great if not pricey. I'll never be cool with the price. Online PC gaming is only moderately similar to XBox Live, but to do what Live does on PC you'd have to be running all kinds of other ##### so I don't see the point. The only time I ever used voice stuff in online gaming was with my real life friend, and it was over MSN as a way of not having to use Ally Chat in Starcraft.

Now I don't care about people's gamerscores but I remember this being a real fecking shetbag about how he was going to be an "MLG Pro".

1995 is a low gamerscore for an "MLG Pro", a low gamerscore for someone in the Professional Live realm really, a low gamerscore for as many games as it shows on there.

Weird. Just sayin'.

There were quite a few reasons to buy one (which is pretty lol because I remember saying there was no combination of games that could possibly interest me in a 360, but a staggering number of positive entries changed my mind gradually), but the last straw was when I heard about the Perfect Dark rerelease.

Nowadays I barely have time for games, but if it is it can be either left 4 dead, Halo Reach, and even some Resident evil 5.

My boyfriend and I have sort of a shared account -- BladedandOrcy -- since we have one XBox 360 together and there's really no sense in having two accounts for one XBox, right?  We don't have gold though, since we're too poor for that.  We can send/receive messages though :D
