Title: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: KPL on 18 December 2007, 08:43:08 I only re-discovered this stuff this morning.
http://www.megaman.cc/global/worldwidesites.php Looks an awful lot like the Blue Bomber logo.. This bulb look familiar as well, or am I just imagining things this morning..? Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 18 December 2007, 08:45:20 Yeah I remember when Abe or someone posted that site. Funny that they would pixeltext their logo.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Alex on 18 December 2007, 11:23:55 Everyone knows MegaMan is an ultra compact candle.

Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: NovaMan XP on 18 December 2007, 15:45:38 If Capcom were to find out about this I bet they would sue... because they have the site says they have rights to the name... lawl.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: KPL on 18 December 2007, 16:02:32 Especially because the logo is too similar.
But, guessing from the nature of the company, it's designed by some dude who's a BIG Megaman-fan. It just has to be coincidence. I think it's just a tribute by the designer. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Abominator on 18 December 2007, 16:34:18 I'm sure these chumps had a domain name that I wanted once, or something.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: KPL on 18 December 2007, 16:35:59 It's an international organisation, I bumped into them when trying out www.megaman.nl.
Pretty shocking when you see the MegaMan logo loading up, but then right after that you see the lightbulbs.. Thinking, WHUUUUUUT? Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 18 December 2007, 22:00:31 I'm sure these chumps had a domain name that I wanted once, or something. I think they used to have megaman.com Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Abominator on 18 December 2007, 22:11:34 Nay, not in my time on der web.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 18 December 2007, 23:02:09 I'm sure these chumps had a domain name that I wanted once, or something. I was thinking the same thing, but Abe just proved us wrong. MEGAMAN GET SPAARLAMPEN Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: KPL on 18 December 2007, 23:50:46 LOL you just said something dutch! ROCK ON!
You know what Spaarlampen are, guessing from the site..? Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 19 December 2007, 02:26:06 I think they're lightbulbs?
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 19 December 2007, 03:32:55 Strange looking lightbulbs to say the least....I wonder if Roll could turn this into a Buster Part?
I can see it now.... "You gave Roll "Megaman lightbulb"....You get the weapon, Copywrite infringement candle Cannon!" Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 19 December 2007, 03:41:46 What's the name of the Robot Master you win the weapon from?
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 19 December 2007, 03:49:24 Not sure, I was thinking more of the Legends series actually...
I can see Megaman finding this in a trashcan. But if we were talking about the orginal series....The robot master would have to be BrightMan's evil-er brother...CopywriteCandleman. ..He's easy to beat; use bubble lead. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 19 December 2007, 08:12:32 Where's the funny?
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: KPL on 19 December 2007, 08:21:54 I... don't know. I've been searching on the highest mountains, in the deepest oceans, but I found nothing.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 19 December 2007, 14:14:19 What funny?
Seriously, I can see Megaman Volnut finding this in a trash can. I joke you not. If I was trying to be funny, I would whip out my arsenal of Chuck Norris jokes....And perhaps post WAV files of my ALMOST famous George Bush impression. So unless you get your facts straight, don't accuse people of telling bad jokes. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: KPL on 19 December 2007, 14:49:58 What funny? Chuck.. Norris? You made those funnies? Lol. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 19 December 2007, 19:54:20 So unless you get your facts straight, don't accuse people of telling bad jokes. Ahem. The robot master would have to be BrightMan's evil-er brother...CopywriteCandleman. ..He's easy to beat; use bubble lead. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 19 December 2007, 22:39:16 Ok I confess! It was a joke! And perhaps a bad one at that, but hey if we did not have bad jokes the good jokes would not be near as funny as they are.
But honestly, are the bad joke police going to haul me away? :P *Bad joke police emerge* Officer: "Freeze!" Dopefish:"Whats the problem officer?" Officer: "You told a bad joke. In fact, our records indicate that you are wanted in 21 states for bad joke telling." Dopefish: "Doesn't the government have better things to do than throw people in jail who tell bad jokes?" Officer:"Um, no." Dopefish:"Well In that case....Look! Its Metroid in a Megaman costume!" Officer:What! "Where?!" *Officer looks other way* *Dopefish runs in flying saucer, and does eyebrow thing like Dr. Wily.* Dopefish:"You'll never catch me alive coppers!" Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Xero on 19 December 2007, 22:42:45 Officer: "Freeze!"
Dopefish:"Is? Is this a joke!?" Officer: "You told a bad joke. In fact, our records indicate that you our wanted in 21 states for bad joke telling." Dopefish: "Go ahead and throw it! It may even get returned to sender!?" Officer:"Um, no." Dopefish:"The side! He's pointing to the side!" Officer:What! "Where?!" *Officer looks other way* *Dopefish runs in flying saucer, and does eyebrow thing like Dr. Wily.* Dopefish:"Quick! To the underground!" Fix'd. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: preventerWIND on 19 December 2007, 22:48:15 Officer: "Freeze!"
Dopefish:"Is? Is this a joke!?" Officer: "You told a bad joke. In fact, our records indicate that you are wanted in 21 states for bad joke telling." Dopefish: "Go ahead and throw it! Post by: Dopefish on 19 December 2007, 22:50:09 Thanks guys, for the joke repair. :P
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: preventerWIND on 19 December 2007, 22:52:55 Damn straight, if it wasn't for me this whole forum would fall apart.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 19 December 2007, 22:55:46 Right on.
*Gives PreventerWIND duct tape and super glue* Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 19 December 2007, 22:58:56 Hmm, I just realized... shouldn't this thread be in the General MegaMan boards or something? This is under a category called, "Non-MegaMan".
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 19 December 2007, 23:13:20 Dopefish... Like Wolverine, you are the best at what you do. Like the Punisher, you're a soldier for a cause.
In this instance, both of those are making bad jokes. But the world needs those people, so I'm cool with that. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 20 December 2007, 00:05:25 I wanna' hear your George Bush impressions.
I do a lot of funny voices, but not really any impressions. So, you can't really call me an impressionist, but I'm still interested. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Jakey on 20 December 2007, 03:16:00 Officer: "Freeze"
Dopefish: "Is? Is this a bad joke?" Officer: "Yes" Fix'd. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 20 December 2007, 15:09:26 I wanna' hear your George Bush impressions. Ok Hehe, I just recorded this on my Mp3 Player....Its George Bush talking about Megaman. I don't really know how good it is, but some people tell me I'm good at it anyway. Here is the file. http://www.mediafire.com/?bgme2clml1d Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Aych on 20 December 2007, 18:25:59 My GOD...you sound exactly like Frank Caliendo. The similarities are uncanny and disturbing...
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 20 December 2007, 21:37:56 The similarities are uncanny and disturbing... Thank you....I think. ;D I can almost do Chuck Norris too, I just have to watch more Walker Texas Ranger. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 21 December 2007, 02:01:07 Not bad, not bad. My Bush-impression is on par with that, yep. You might be a bit better, but I more than make up for it with my other stuff.
One thing you need to work on is ad-libbing: doing an impression is nothing if you can only impersonate the voice. You did a good job on throwing a few Bush-isms in there, but it just SOUNDS like him... it doesn't SEEM like him. I know you don't take it that seriously, but I'm sure you're going to be hard-pressed to find any real impersonation criticism so I'm blowing it your way. I'm honestly looking into voice-acting for cartoons and such, but definitely not as a main career. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Lunchebox on 21 December 2007, 02:13:50 I still say that's just Brightman's website.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 21 December 2007, 02:20:17 Is that even a question?
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Lunchebox on 21 December 2007, 02:44:57 It's a statement.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 21 December 2007, 03:48:03 Only on Wednesdays.
Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Dopefish on 21 December 2007, 14:37:27 One thing you need to work on is ad-libbing: doing an impression is nothing if you can only impersonate the voice. You did a good job on throwing a few Bush-isms in there, but it just SOUNDS like him... it doesn't SEEM like him. Yeah I know what you mean, I need to learn the ways of the Bush. Seriously if I worked on what I was going to say instead of winging it, I could probably act more like Bush. On that recording I basically said just random things, about "the ranch" and other common Bush cliches. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I like it! Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 22 December 2007, 02:26:20 I need to learn the ways of the Bush. (http://www.become.com/pocketchange/charlie-sigh-769156.jpg) Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 22 December 2007, 04:04:48 If I ever find another microphone, I'll record some of my voices. Not many are impersonations, but I do:
- a convincing Brit (I wish I had a British accent) - a mobster (I like this one) - Arnold Schwarzenegger (and pretty well, too) - stereotypical queer (almost too easy, shouldn't even count) - George W. Bush (not too shabby, but nothing special) Those are the noteworthy ones, the rest are just generic voices that can't really be categorized, but are very different than my own voice. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ChaosVortex on 22 December 2007, 04:17:03 A blessing, and a curse. This Senior at school does a VERY good Borat impression. He's quite humorous.
However, his acts are quite popular around a school, and a BUNCH of Freshmen (or kids that act like Freshmen) are imitating him using the accent to be funny and they absolutely slaughter it. I wanna take something like a frying pan and bash them in the head. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 22 December 2007, 04:34:05 God, ANYONE can do Borat. It's a horrible persona in the first place.
Sure, the movie is funny, but it's almost impossible NOT to be able to impresonate him. I can do Borat perfectly, but I never brag or mention it because it's such a horrible talent. There's nothing funny about quoting Borat anymore, even if you do a perfect impression. In every way. It's just annoying. Like Napoleon Dynamite quotes. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ChaosVortex on 22 December 2007, 05:00:59 God, ANYONE can do Borat. Not at my school, apparently. Yeah, it's gotten old, but still. If you can sound like him perfectly, it can be kinda funny. Napoleon has been, and will still be garbage. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 22 December 2007, 08:49:06 Most people suck at Borat. I can do a damn good one, but I haven't done it in a long time.
- a convincing Brit (I wish I had a British accent) 0 points for originality in the craft. Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: ASR on 22 December 2007, 19:24:13 Sue me.
Like I said, most of my voices can't be described, as it's just a bunch of random voices. Those are just the things I can describe in a few words or so in order to convey what I mean. Just one point, please? One? Title: Re: Megaman Lightbulbs? Post by: Mikero on 24 December 2007, 01:29:10 If you can do a good Robert De Niro. I respect anyone who can do a good Robert De Niro impression. I respect Paul Rudd. Paul Rudd an do a good Robert De Niro impression.
