Title: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 2 December 2007, 21:29:15 We needed THIS thread too, I got some some pretty high ranked Miis in the "Check Mii Out" channel, one 5th, one 9th. I'm a happy guy.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 2 December 2007, 21:30:44 Shoot, I gotta' do that. I have some killer Mii's, you have no clue.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 2 December 2007, 21:31:47 Never heard of said channel but I don't let my Wii online all the time.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 2 December 2007, 21:35:03 It just came out earlier in November. I remember hearing about it around E3 time. I'm downloading it right now, I haven't played my Wii in the last few days so now I have an excuse.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 2 December 2007, 21:35:47 Go get it, you make Miis for contests, then judge everyone else's Mii, then you get rewarded from the results.
And ASR, the CMOC has been out for at least a week and a half. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 2 December 2007, 21:37:00 I know it has. I forgot to DL it.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Dr. on 2 December 2007, 21:53:05 Internet
Mario Bros III CMOC Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 2 December 2007, 21:54:36 I got Super Mario Bros. 3 too. Love that game. I also got Super Metroid and some others a long time ago.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Blasphemy Scarab on 3 December 2007, 00:41:27 CMOC is pretty nifty...I got me a Terminator and Chuck Norris! XD
VC titles: Excitebike, Mach Rider, Contra Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Chron on 3 December 2007, 00:43:18 You gotta have Gunstar Heroes, guys.
I've got Kirby's Dreamland and Gradius in addition, and I'd buy more if I had more point things. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 3 December 2007, 01:18:46 Wooo, post from the Wii! Fyi, you can use a keyboard on it now instead of point-clicking like I am right now.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 3 December 2007, 01:35:54 I used my keyboard a couple times.
I have a wireless USB keyboard, so I chilled in my bed across the room surfing the internet with my Wii-mote. Pure bliss. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 3 December 2007, 03:19:28 Yeah, I have a crappy wired one...

i got lots of wii games i downloaded sum games too BTW, Sin and Punishment. Awesome game. Download it nao! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 3 December 2007, 03:45:20 That game creeped me out. Way too much random crap going on, and I don't even know what the storyline was supposed to be.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Snare on 3 December 2007, 03:48:49 You know what game I really, really, really want?
Endless Ocean. I think it will really help align my aura, because the other day I lost one of my magical healing crystals (the pink one) and I went to the local new age store and they were all out, they offered me some incense, saying that two can cleanse my soul, they said I should buy a new Yoga mat and the latest Enya CD, to help purify my lunarian essence but at the same time I don't think my cosmic guide would have me validated, so I turned to the stars that night and the faerie queen pointed me to this game. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Advent Akksul on 3 December 2007, 04:33:03 My Mario was cool, mine looked better than the winning Mario!!! :-\
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 11 December 2007, 04:07:38 OKAY so that Wii Virtual Console Gifts thing is released, and I say somebody should try sending The Lost Levels to Abe and see if it works.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 11 December 2007, 15:18:11 Yesh, please do!
I'll send someone something they want in exchange. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 12 December 2007, 00:09:50 I've got 700 Wii points left...
I'll see if I can send it to Abe... when I get my Wii to connect to the Internet.. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Kamon on 12 December 2007, 00:32:34 I have Gunstar Heroes, Super Metroid and Super Castlevania IV on the VC.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Blasphemy Scarab on 12 December 2007, 00:44:23 The Photo Channel update to 1.1 lets you put a picture of your own in the channel icon...I thought that was pretty nifty. now I can see my girlfriend when i turn on my Wii! lol. I've been playing alot of Ikaruga...I just may download Sin & Punishment yet...
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 December 2007, 01:33:44 I've got 700 Wii points left... NUUUU!!! ;-; I wanted to give it to him for Christmas. D: Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 12 December 2007, 02:32:30 Go ahead then.
I want to give someone something for Christmas... but I can only afford 1 NES game or 1 Turbografx game. WHO WANTS TO EXCHANGE TEH GIFTS?! I will complain. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 12 December 2007, 21:31:47 Nova, you should totally buy me something. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 13 December 2007, 23:40:58 Well that's retarded. Most of you guys live in the U.S. and I wouldn't bother sending gifts to my friends here who have Wii when I can just give them something for real.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 13 December 2007, 23:57:35 Yeah, that's pretty lame. I'd only use it to exchange gifts with people I know from online, not local friends.

Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 14 December 2007, 04:33:31 I've tried it, too, Doc. It doesn't work. I'd go into more detail, but I tried heartily and fruitlessly.

Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 26 December 2007, 19:39:51 So, does anybody know when that new channel is coming out for the rest of the world?
It's the 'My Nintendo' channel or something, and it will have demo videos for games and ALSO turn the Wii into a download station for the DS. I really want it. Now. I was hoping Nintendo would release it on Christmas. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 26 December 2007, 19:42:41 Everybody's Nintendo Channel.

Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 26 December 2007, 21:48:05 I have it but I've barely played it.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 8 January 2008, 02:17:41 For Wii owners, we should have a Photo channel drawing contest. I'm not too shabby at it to say the least, if I take my time.

2 new consoles en route to VC? Speculate! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Kamon on 8 January 2008, 13:55:41 They're most likely going to be Gameboy and Game Gear.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 8 January 2008, 14:00:59 MSX and Commondoor 64 was announced back then.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: White Shadow on 8 January 2008, 14:01:39 Game Gear had style. The only hand-held device suitable for really beating somebody to death with and with excellent power management with every one of its 6 AAs getting you through pretty exactly one minute. But once you got a power pack, which pretty much killed the basic idea of a hand-held, you'd notice it had a lot of cool games.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Kamon on 8 January 2008, 14:03:22 I played my friend's by running it off the mains. I hope the GG ends up on the VG, I want those Shinobi games.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 8 January 2008, 14:08:45 I still have a GG stashed away somewhere...
I'd like Master System/Game Gear and MegaCD/32X. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 8 January 2008, 21:24:52 I still have my Game Gear, and I know exactly where it is. It won't work. It never seems to read any games except some Garfield one, and occasionaly a Road Runner + Wile E. Coyote one.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 9 January 2008, 00:47:55 Never had GG, always wanted one. Would be cool on VC.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 9 January 2008, 01:36:54 Actually, it had some pretty good games that I would buy for the VC. Sonic Triple Trouble, for one.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 9 January 2008, 03:25:31 I played one at a friend's house for a few hours once, it got hot enough to actually burn my hand.

Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 16 January 2008, 00:18:27 Japan has it already, it has game videos and junk, as well as turning the Wii into a demo download station like the things at Gamestop.
I'll just sit there with my DS in front of my Wii and TV while playing every demo possible. Something to actually use the Wii and DS in tandem. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 16 January 2008, 00:20:17 Ooooh, cool.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 16 January 2008, 00:26:28 Exactly why I can't wait.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 16 January 2008, 00:29:15 That sounds sexy. I tried the DS thing at Gamestop before buying ZXA. I was playing Ninja Gaiden.
It works like a combination of Phantom Hourglass and Brain Age. It was pretty fun. I'm looking forward to this. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 18 January 2008, 00:13:52 On the Check Mii Out Channel, just now did I not ONLY make a level 9 Mii for the Father Time competition, I now have a "Masterful" eye for Miis by choosing a level 8, level 9, and a PINNACLE level Mii (Ranked 31st in the contest).
I'm a happy guy. I'd have a better eye for Miis on average if I was more patient with the voting though. This is my 4th or 5th Ninth level Mii. Has anybody, or does anybody know anybody that has made a Top 50 Mii? Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 19 January 2008, 09:02:42 Just posted 7753-0421-7847 on "Check Mii Out". Not amazing, just trying this thing out. Was there some kind of Mii Channel update I'm not aware of? People are making crap that's wasn't even possible before. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Johncarllos on 19 January 2008, 17:36:39 Everything made is using what's there.
Some stuff is just crazy though. I'll favorite your Mii though. I love the contests. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 19 January 2008, 21:37:47 Yeah I can tell now, except with the Geordie La Forge I downloaded, but I have to look closer at it.

Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 20 January 2008, 07:10:42 Here's a fun new Mii that I made when I first got my Wii, it's Ms. Swan!

I was bored and made a Mike Tyson Mii a year ago. Yes. He is a Pro in Boxing. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 20 January 2008, 16:11:41 Dude, your Mike Tyson sucks, I sent you a better one. I deleted the one you sent me. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 27 January 2008, 22:35:13 Right. So did anyone get the new NiGHTS? Any good?
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 27 January 2008, 22:58:29 I almost bought that, no joke. However, I decided I'd save my money a little longer. Ended up with No More Heroes instead.
From what I hear, it was more of a throwback to the old stuff anyway, with little to no new content. I've never played any NiGHTS games before anyway, though, so it would've been all new to me. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 27 January 2008, 22:59:13 I heard NiGHTS is a love or hate thing.
Probably best to play if you haven't played the original. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 27 January 2008, 23:01:17 The only thing I know about NiGHTS is that when asked Miyamoto said he wished he had come up with the series.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 30 January 2008, 02:42:54 'Kay, so I had some points leftover and I decided that 1080 Snowboarding was worth it.
That game was, like, the game when I was younger. I played that thing so much that I knew every map and code like the back of my hand. I never mastered the tricks, though. Anyway, I was expecting to be disappointed, assuming it wouldn't age well (like MK64, which isn't nearly as fun as it used to be)... but this game has aged EXCELLENTLY. I have never felt a rush of nostalgia so huge before. I literally 100% forgot about this game until this Monday, and I just remembered how big a part of my childhood it was. Soooo much fun. Rob Haywood for Brawl! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 30 January 2008, 16:03:25 I'll probably download it later tonight.
I only ever played it in a shop! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 30 January 2008, 16:34:12 I remember I always used to use Ricky Winterborn for some reason, but I like Rob Haywood better.
Anyway, I never even knew a Gamecube sequel came out until recently. I should look into that. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 1 February 2008, 18:44:12 Don't care.
"Crazy Taxi confirmed for Wii" is what I want to see. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 1 February 2008, 20:34:05 I didn't care for Crazy Taxi, but then again, I played the game just about as much as I did Pac-Man.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 1 February 2008, 20:42:09 I missed out on Crazy Taxi when it first came out and still haven't played it.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 1 February 2008, 23:30:10 Don't care. Dude, Crazy Taxi kicks ass. Any game that's fun to play and has an Offspring song in it kicks ass. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 5 February 2008, 01:27:39 So, a couple days ago I bought Star Fox 64...
I like it. It's pretty damn fun, controls are easy to get used to, and the different paths... geez, it's gonna take a while to really play through all this game. Pretty damn good. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 5 February 2008, 01:46:29 ^It was worth every cent you payed for it. Believe it!
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 5 February 2008, 01:53:04 Yeah, I must've been doing something wrong or wasn't really caring much, because I watch a friend play Star Fox on my Wii and it looked pretty fun the further he played.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 5 February 2008, 02:06:07 Star Fox 64 was one of the gems I never owned yet ALWAYS went over my friend's house and played. I don't know why I never had the idea of borrowing it. I always had to play under his rules - switch off every death. He starts, and is really damn good, so I rarely get a chance.
BUT NOW I HAVE IT ON VC Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 5 February 2008, 18:48:56 I also have it, although under it's smelly Euro-name "Lylat Wars"
...MING. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 01:15:41 Are #####ing serious? Ming doesn't even begin to describe that name. I'm not even going to try. It's just so ming it's...
I should have bought SF64 back in the day. I probably won't VC it though, I just want Ocarina of Time. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 6 February 2008, 01:24:19 I never VC'd Ocarina of Time for some reason. At least with Super Mario 64 my reason was the DS version.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 02:05:57 If you have the DS version why would you get the VC version? There is absolutely no point.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 6 February 2008, 02:10:17 Yeah. I decided not to get SM64 because of that reason.
I mean, what's the point? The DS version is portable and has more characters to play as... and Mini-games. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 02:17:28 It was better JUST by being portable, and then all the other goodness.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 6 February 2008, 02:33:57 I don't wanna buy the DS version, but I don't want to download the game either. Same with OoT. I've already played them to death, since they're great games.
I just want to try games I haven't touched or would like to touch again, like the Donkey Kong Country games. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 6 February 2008, 02:36:22 I got OoT and such because I didn't have an N64 for more than a week (parents got rid of it because they thought I had a seizure or something after getting heat stroke playing soccer.)
All I had was Mario 64 and I didn't even get that far... Now I'm using the Wii's VC to play the games I never had a chance to experience like others have. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 02:39:39 I never owned Ocarina of Time, and have played it through a few times. I also don't have an N64 anymore. But as I've not owned it in any way, I still lust for it.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 6 February 2008, 02:43:48 It is a great game. If someone hasn't played it or beaten it, then it's a MUST download really. Mario 64 falls into that category as well, but you know, who hasn't played Mario 64?
The only real game I played to death that I want to re-own is none other than Super Smash Bros. EDIT: Oh yes, just thought it up. Possibly some of the Mario Parties. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 02:46:38 Only Mario Party 2.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 6 February 2008, 02:48:23 One Mario Party on the N64 was good for me, so I stuck around with the original.
But given the opportunity on the VC, I don't see why not. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 6 February 2008, 02:55:41 Mario Party 2... was that the one with cowboy and astronaut costumes? Definitely the best one.
If you have the DS version why would you get the VC version? There is absolutely no point. That's exactly what I meant. The DS version was rape and rendered the old one obsolete. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 03:01:46 Yes yes on both counts. That's four-COUNT 'EM!- FOUR yes'!
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 6 February 2008, 03:20:00 I'm one of the few who perfer the N64 version. <_<

Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 6 February 2008, 03:25:23 There was many things in the DS version that just bothered me. >_>
Very small little things, too. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 6 February 2008, 04:29:59 Lame-o. Get with the times. Lame-o? Sounds to me like you need to get with the times. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 6 February 2008, 04:51:52 ^ square
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 6 February 2008, 23:26:11 I'm one of the few who perfer the N64 version. <_< You're one of the few who STUPID all day! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 11 February 2008, 19:04:30 I just cleared DKC2 at 102% for the first time in over 10 years.
I did it all over the course of the night. I've been meaning to replay it, and I just bought a Classic Controller for that purpose, so I took advantage of midwinter break. I still say that DKC2 is probably the greatest videogame ever made, and it gets bonus points for accomplishing that as a sequel. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 11 February 2008, 23:40:22 Lame.
DKC3 is where it's at. *Runs* Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 00:32:19 Ew, no way. DKC3 is great and all, but DKC2 is better in every way. Plus, I loved the atmosphere and DKC3 was too bright.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 00:35:51 I dunno, I really didn't like DKC2. I played it for a bit when I was younger, but I could absolutely not stop playing DKC3.
Don't know why. I just like DKC3 better. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: preventerWIND on 12 February 2008, 00:36:48 V likes big fat gorilla babies in pajamas.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 12 February 2008, 01:24:23 DKC3 was even bad in concept.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 02:29:43 Kiddy was entirely unnecessary. It should've DK and Dixie trying to save a kidnapped Diddy.
Kiddy is practically equal to DK, anyway. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 02:37:19 I agree on that.
But I don't know... I just so much more nostalgic feelings towards DKC3 than DKC2. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 12 February 2008, 02:40:31 Ew, no way. DKC3 is great and all, but DKC2 is better in every way. Plus, I loved the atmosphere and DKC3 was too bright. DKC3 was even bad in concept. Kiddy was entirely unnecessary. It should've DK and Dixie trying to save a kidnapped Diddy. These thoughts are identical to mine concerning the game. I favored DKC2 as my favorite, since it's the one I couldn't stop replaying over and over again. DKC3 just seemed like it was just trying to "match" previous titles, what with a new kong and the previous kongs kidnapped. I'd like to replay DKC3 right now just because I only rented it, but the game is pretty inferior. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 02:41:57 but the game is pretty inferior. THROUGH OPINIONS! *Runs away, crying* Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 12 February 2008, 02:55:29 It was wonderful!
Bravo! Oh I loved that! That was great! Well, it was pretty good... Well it wasn't bad... Well there were parts of it that weren't very good... It could've been a lot better... I didn't really like it... It was pretty terrible... It was bad! It was awful! It WAS TERRIBLE! GET 'EM AWAY! Hey, Boo! BOO! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 04:05:36 I'm about to play through either DKC 1 or 3 tomorrow.
Which one? Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 04:10:54 DKC aged badly, IMO.
DKC3 is where it's at. ... ^Obvious responce by Vinchenz Rock was obvious. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 04:12:38 Something must be said about DKC2's story: for not having much of one in the first place, it sure is awesome and original.
Who the hell thinks "PIRATES!" for a DKC sequel? Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 04:13:13 Rare did, TWICE.
Kinda. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 04:14:35 DKC3 had no pirates.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 04:20:15 DKC64 did.
Kinda. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Abominator on 12 February 2008, 11:49:37 I want DK64 on VC.
I only ever played that at a friend's house because of that stupid expansion thing. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 13:03:35 DK64 is gold.
The only problem I see with it is that theres too many things to collect. Yes, I also realize that I accidentally called it "Donkey Kong Country 64" up there. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 16:13:03 DK64 still has good chances of making it to the VC, so I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm sure it'll be a LONG wait, though.
I loved the game to death, really, but in the end it felt too much like Banjo-Kazooie than a DKC game. Don't get me wrong, that isn't a bad thing at ALL. I'm pretty sure it came packaged with the expansion pack thing, too. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 16:57:05 I'm pretty sure it came packaged with the expansion pack thing, too. It did. Too bad I didn't know about it and had to wait a week to play so I could get one. You should've seen the anger in my face when I realized it came in the box. IT'S ADVERTISED ON THE BOX, TOO! >_< Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 17:35:57 Which is how I remember. A corner of the box had a small picture of it.
(http://dkmegasite.vgfort.com/images/64box.jpg) Looking at that, did they ever make a "game pak" of DK64 that wasn't yellow? Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Kamon on 12 February 2008, 18:48:21 I think the PAL version had grey "Game Paks."
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 19:11:37 Hehe, sucks. I remember my mom tried really hard to get me a Gold Game Pak version of Ocarina of Time, and she couldn't find one. Thus, I had the lame grey one while all my friends had the shiny gold ones.
But I got a Golden Majora's Mask! HA! That'll show 'em! ...then I found out every Majora's Mask was golden. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 19:49:40 Every MM was golden, but only the first batch released had the holo screen on the cartridge, IIRC.
I didn't get the holo screen. :( But I do own (and I think I mentioned this before) the rare 1.0 Ocarina of Time grey cartridge. Most 1.0 OoT cartridges are gold and thats my mine is special. :D Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 19:57:59 Well, my Grey OoT cartridge was obviously a 1.0 since it was purchased the day it came out. They just sold out of the Gold ones faster.
Also, my Majora's Mask had that holographic label. ANYWAY: I just beat Donkey Kong Country 1 pretty much exactly 2 hours. So, yay me! Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 19:59:23 Well, my Grey OoT cartridge was obviously a 1.0 since it was purchased the day it came out. They just sold out of the Gold ones faster. Awe. I used to be the only Matrician. D: But still, although its not worth much (eBay) that cartridge right there is very rare so you got some personal value there. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 20:03:31 Too bad I sold it on eBay a couple years ago.
I actually posted the auctions here in case you guys were interested way back when. I got $250 for my Super Nintendo, 2 controllers, and 20 games. I think it's mainly due to what games I owned, mainly all the good ones. It's important to note that I sold MegaMan X3 seperately for $40. I sold my Nintendo 64 for only $200, with 2 controllers, the expansion pack, over 25 games, and random players guides included. It was a sad sale, but the gold mine I got for my Super Nintendo made me smile. Unfortunately, directly after the sales, I was really pissed. However, it bought me a Gamecube, so I wasn't complaining much... until the long draught of games near launch (good games really stopped coming until SSBM.) Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 12 February 2008, 20:06:56 I'll never sell my things. EVER. MINE
But anyway, that reminds me when I got my GameCube. I got Melee for Christmas, but I didn't get my GameCube until January 10th-ish. I spent hours just looking at the manual. :( But then I got my GCN so it was good. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 20:21:22 Well, I'm about to sell my Gamecube(s). I have two, due to some stupid crap my dad pulled, and both are 100% obsolete due to the Wii.
The second Gamecube only cost $10, anyway. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 12 February 2008, 20:32:57 I would so love a DK64.
The Banjo games would be great as well, but I somehow doubt they'll appear. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 12 February 2008, 20:35:26 It was made clear long ago that they will not be making any VC appearances.
It's likely they will be re-made in some way for XBOX Live! Arcade when Banjo-Threeie comes out. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 13 February 2008, 03:15:47 Exactly, which is really unfair.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 13 February 2008, 03:42:55 Not so much if you own a 360.
As much as I find digital media problematic, I'm still a sucker for it. When something finally goes wrong, you'll see an angry ASR. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ChaosVortex on 13 February 2008, 03:55:59 A 360 is the next console I'd want right now, but at the same time, I don't have any will to actually "want" it. I'm entertained enough by a DS, a PS2, a Wii, and a PSP to boot.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 13 February 2008, 18:32:21 My school keeps busy enough that I'm more than likely working my self into an early grave, so my three Wii games and Wii sports are able to keep me busy right now. Recent events make me to delve further into Shadow Of Colossus and try Mass Effect at some point. I'd get the PS2 before the 360 though. I want to play San Andreas for #####s sakes.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 13 February 2008, 18:34:08 Don't they sell it for XBOX now?
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 13 February 2008, 18:34:39 Didn't San Andreas come out on Xbox? Although I don't know if the 360's retarded emulation crap supports it yet.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 13 February 2008, 18:35:26 I don't own nor will ever own an original XBox. 360 I can imagine, but not the first one. Unless it's cheap as free.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 13 February 2008, 18:36:15 Yeah, but if it's supported on the 360 you can play it on the 360 too.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: ASR on 13 February 2008, 18:39:43 Yeah, I'd be hard-pressed to believe that the GTA games aren't supported on the 360 by now.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: TheRedPriest on 13 February 2008, 18:40:10 The hardware failure rate for the 360 is insulting. If I had ANY inkling to buy one it would be immediately crushed by the fact it's not "if" but "when" the console would brick itself. But as it stands, there are all of 2 games I'd actually want to play on 360. And if RE5 is like DMC4 with a no option install to play bull#####, I'd say the 360 version would be the one to get, I'd STILL not get a 360.
Besides, I have no doubt the Wii will see a port of some sort of RE5. RE4 sold too well not too. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 13 February 2008, 18:44:11 I agree. I don't want a 360, I just want to TRY Mass Effect and see what's all about because of something I'm working on with my friends. There's nothing I really want to play on it that I can think of. Although Call of Duty or whatever was looking pretty cool when I watched my friend's brother playing it, but it's not my type of game.
Is that game Crysis on it? Seems like it would be. I just tried it on PC the other day at a friend's place. Just tried the initial stages but I liked it a lot. Yeah, but if it's supported on the 360 you can play it on the 360 too. That's was I was just talking about, hun. Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: NovaMan XP on 13 February 2008, 18:58:58 I just misread your post then I thought that you thought that we were suggesting getting the original crap Xbox.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Fatso on 14 February 2008, 23:47:48 Crysis does indeed have a 360 version, but it's not going to look PC-grade, obviously, and of course keyboard+mouse > gamepad any day.
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii (Channels and Games) Post by: Mikero on 15 February 2008, 03:03:02 I'm not so sure of the latter there. I'm not a huge fan of looking around with a mouse and moving with wasd and then opening menus by pressing like c or v, it gets awkward since so much of Crysis seems to have you switching stuff up in split seconds during a bit (see: changing your power).
