Title: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Panda on 26 February 2008, 13:54:26 I was having the usual argument with my friends over how great/rubbish Megaman is, and somehow Megaman Soccer came up in conversation. They didn't believe me when I told them that there was actually a game where you can play soccer as Robot Masters. Anyway, long story short we all came over to my house, put it on (with no idea how to play) and started soccering away.
Holy cow, this game is the most entertaining thing on god's green Earth. After an hour of playing (and we couldn't stop), we'd gone through the entire spectrum of human emotion. The happiness that comes from scoring a goal. The sadness that follows when your controls go spastic randomly. The anger of never being able to control the person you want to. The regret after choosing Woodman as a team member. The irritation of realising that power shots = free goals. After three hours of playing this crap, and perfecting our seemingly unblockable strategies only to find counters for them time and time again, after accidentally choosing Woodman (or maybe not accidentally, maybe deep down we all believe that he isn't just an immobile piece of junk that could never score, tackle or save a goal if his little robotic heart depended on it) too many times... ...We've decided that this is the best Megaman game of all time. Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Dopefish on 26 February 2008, 15:26:34 Hehehe, MegaMan Soccer. I've played it surpisingly its not a bad game...I could never figure out how to use the power shots though....I always scored using the pass button. ;D
I'd like to see Megaman Soccer on a modern platform like the Wii. Or even better, Megaman Hockey! Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Fatso on 26 February 2008, 16:11:04 I love Mega Man Soccer! I would spend hours playing through that game.
And then cry out in frustration when I beat it and it just rebooted. Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: ASR on 26 February 2008, 19:56:33 I really wanted them to put MegaMan Soccer as an unlockable in MMAC. I was really hoping it would be on there somewhere, along with Battle & Chase. Well, at least we got that one.
Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Mikero on 27 February 2008, 08:19:41 Right. It's one of the worse soccer games I've played. And I have played good and bad ones.
Or even better, Megaman Hockey! No. I like hockey, but no. It would suck. You KNOW it would suck deep down. BUT, I'd love a basketball game of MM if it played like NBA Street Vol. 2 for GC. Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Dopefish on 27 February 2008, 15:36:31 No. I like hockey, but no. It would suck. You KNOW it would suck deep down. I suppose...But I just can picture Dr.Wily as a sceaming Hockey coach, Woodman as a Goalie, Hardman as goon, and Dr.Light as a color commentator. Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Lunchebox on 27 February 2008, 17:29:35 I like hockey Stop the Goddamn presses! The man from Canada LIKES HOCKEY! Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Fatso on 27 February 2008, 18:12:40 Right. It's one of the worse soccer games I've played. And I have played good and bad ones. It's not a good soccer game, and it's not a good Mega Man game, but it somehow still manages to be unbelievably awesome. Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: ASR on 27 February 2008, 18:18:55 By being unbelievably horrible?
Just asking. Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Fatso on 27 February 2008, 18:20:54 Quite possibly so.
Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Voulnet on 27 February 2008, 19:55:46 MegaMan Soccer needs a remake.
Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: ChaosVortex on 27 February 2008, 19:58:36 I remember having some NES soccer game with River City Ransom-type sprites. God, I miss that game.

If you plan to buy it, be ready to spend like around $40.
Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: ChaosVortex on 27 February 2008, 21:41:00 Doubt that bit, but I DO remember seeing a copy of it in the flea market near me.

Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Abominator on 27 February 2008, 23:31:17 I remember having some NES soccer game with River City Ransom-type sprites. God, I miss that game."GOAL!"? It was Nintendo World Cup, and it was great. Posted on: 27 February 2008, 23:30:41 And I realise now that they'd probably have to rename it on VC due to "World Cup". Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: ChaosVortex on 27 February 2008, 23:42:59 Abe's on the ball.
I really remember it because the special kicks you could do to easily earn a goal. Oh, the memories... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00d9RrwCGDY) Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: NovaMan XP on 28 February 2008, 01:43:06 That looks like fun.

Title: Re: Megaman Soccer: Greatest Game Ever Post by: Kayauts on 25 March 2008, 00:29:40 I actually bought MM soccer kind of as a joke, but now i realize that NOBODY really has this game, so whenever I hear somebody say they have all the megaman games, BAM!!! There's another one they don't have! Not to mention I've had hours of fun killing my braincells by playing the game.
