[spoiler]While Street Fighter IV will feature 3D rendered characters and backgrounds, the game will still play in traditional 2D, thus creating a "2.5D" effect. While more concrete details on the game's gameplay have yet to be revealed, producer Ono has stated that he wants to keep the game closer to Street Fighter II than to its sequels, and as such the "parry system" from Street Fighter III has been dropped. A new system temporarily called "Saving" has been introduced, as well as Ultra moves. The traditional six-button control scheme will return, with new features and special moves integrated into the input system, mixing classic gameplay with additional innovations. On December 30, 2007, a gameplay trailer showed how typical gameplay worked, with the 2D plane of fighting shifting and rotating, characters reacting facially to particularly hard blows.

The game has the same feel as Super Street Fighter II Turbo, with several features from Street Fighter III 3rd Strike. Pressing both light attack buttons is still for throwing, and both heavy attack buttons are for the personal action or taunts. Both medium attack buttons are for the saving strike. Dashes and quick standing are also in the game. At the moment, C.Viper is the only character who can perform a high jump.

It is intended that the car-smashing bonus rounds from earlier Street Fighter games will return. Ono has claimed, "They'll be in there if I have to program them myself!" although he noted that there may be problems if the game's vehicles resemble models by real-life manufacturers

Not really. This is actually pretty small to be considered a spoiler. Those are just "details".

It's not like you're saying anything like "Snape killed ____" or "Mithos is ____".

If it doesn't reveal a decent plot point it's not a spoiler, really.

I think the graphics are OK since they're trying to make it 2D but 3D somehow.

Anyway, I think it's gorgeous and looks like it'll be a true return to form.

Can't remember exactly, but I think I remember reading on some forum that there was a Capcom poll asking which other female character you would like to see in SF4. Sakura was one of the options, though I don't know if it actually meant anything other than just being a poll

It wasn't an error, it was deliberate on Capcom's part.  Our African American boxing friend was originally called Mike Bison in Japan.  You can see where that might have gotten Capcom in a bit of a tizzy with a certain individual in the states.  Hence 3 characters had their names traded so that there would be no treat of legal action.  THE MORE YOU KNOW.

I'm guessing a few of you have the game by now, and have been kicking bum and taking names for some time now. What are your thoughts about the new Street Fighter?

It looks like Capcom will be announcing some news about Street Fighter IV soon. Probably an updated game (Super Street Fighter IV, coming to a store near you?) or perhaps DLC in the way of new fighters (T. Hawk was seen recently).

Yea, I know. I'm writing for a dutch gaming website now, so I can show you a few pics! :) They indeed show T. Hawk and Juli. I'm guessing she's one of Bison's (brainwashed) ex girlfriends who had a makeover. She seems to have psycho power now, so that's awesome. Don't know about the look though..

I wish they'd put DeeJay in. Not so much because I want to play as him, I'm just interested in seeing his SFIV makeover.

And hearing his voice actor, of course!

To be honest, I'd think he is a good addition to the cast with his type of moves. Seems to be a pretty fast and versatile dude. I think he'll show up, but we'll know this tomorrow. Capcom will be making an official announcement regarding this then, so we just have to wait a little longer. T. Hawk is looking pretty huge though!

I don't think it's all Alpha characters: They've talked about a few from Street Fighter III, so it could be anything, really.

Dudley would be a cool addition. Cross-countering Akuma's raging demon would be awesome.

Those MM SF sprites are surprisingly well done. I really like Blanka and Zangief. Ryu, Balrog, and Dhalsim (or whatever) are really nice, but those couldn't have been hard. Akuma is kind of funny, considering. Guile's hair is hilarious.

For the girls Cami and Chunnels look good but Sakura is looking pretty brick house (in the wrong way). Then again, she does in SFIV anyway so I guess it's right.

Super Street Fighter IV has now been confirmed. It'll come out next year on a retail disc (not priced at $60, though). Due to the numerous changes between SF4 and SSF4, the two games will not be compatible with each other online.

Plus, Dee-Jay has now been confirmed.

I do not play SF4, but I can say THANK GOD this is being released on a full physical disc.

Would you REALLY want a 1/4 of your game as DLC?  DLC is the cancer that WILL kill the hobby.  When I buy a game I #####ing better well get ALL of the game.  If you want to add new characters, maps, etc etc WHATEVER put it in the sequel.  I can put in any of my old games on any platform and play them in their ENTIRETY.  15 years from now think you'll get to play all your games with that now lost DLC?  No.  You won't.   And that's why DLC is complete bull#####.  Mind you, as watered down as the hobby has become I sincerely doubt ANYONE making games today even gives a thought to the lives of these games past 3 or 4 years tops.  Which is just another reason we get so much mediocre garbage.

I might just buy the damn game to SUPPORT putting this stuff on disc and I don't even HAVE a PS3.

Because the Fallout 3 "downloadable content" is 20 bytes of registration data that unlocks ##### THEY ALREADY PUT IN THE DISC, or at least the first round of it was.

And of course I could also be wrong and be thinking of the wrong game, cause I don't own it or any Bethesda game since the mid-90s

I sincerely doubt that since first of all the downloaded stuff takes up over 20 bytes of space on your hard drive and second of all since there's seemingly new content for Fallout 3 every 2 weeks.
