Title: New Disgaea games Post by: Friggit Deathblade on 3 May 2008, 04:01:26 Apparently, within the next year or two there is going to be a new Disgaea game for the DS and PSP {different versions}. I'm trying to research more on the story/setting, but from what I've found it will utilize save data from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness {PSP} and Disgaea 3 {PS3} to unlock new features/weapons/skills.
My, how original. e.e Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: preventerWIND on 3 May 2008, 04:15:44 Nice to hear it'll be on DS, I heard the Disgaea series was good. Now I can play C :
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: ChaosVortex on 3 May 2008, 04:19:22 I borrowed one of the Disgaea games on the PSP from my friend. It's very comical and interesting. Very well done.
That is, if you have the patience. I got sick of just being so damn weak and spending my time leveling up, I didn't get past chapter one. There's one I know on the PS2 as well. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: preventerWIND on 3 May 2008, 04:24:15
Thats how most RPG's are... Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: ChaosVortex on 3 May 2008, 04:32:29 No. In most GOOD RPGs, they don't bore me to death and actually let me advance through the plot with some decency.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: preventerWIND on 3 May 2008, 04:38:15 Maybe you just suck : \
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Mikero on 3 May 2008, 05:53:42 Usually the only time in a properly-made RPG that you end up too weak to fight something when you're SUPPOSED to be fighting it is if you run away from battles instead of fighting every bad guy you possibly can on your way from place to place.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: ChaosVortex on 3 May 2008, 15:15:28 It's impossible to "run away" in Disgaea.
To advance, you have to beat every little enemy in the stage. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 3 May 2008, 22:28:20 JRPG's = Fail
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Friggit Deathblade on 4 May 2008, 02:18:19 Or if you'd learn to go into the Item World and level up, you wouldn't die in one hit.
And there's two for PS2: Hour of Darkness, and Cursed Memories. {Afternoon of Darkness {PSP} was a remake of Hour of Darkness} Disgaea also has a habit of making anime references. And, there has been talk within Nippon Ichi Software {company that created Disgaea} that there will be a Megaman reference; specifically, a Mega-buster as a weapon {gun}. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Mikero on 4 May 2008, 21:32:03 It's impossible to "run away" in Disgaea. Never played Disgaea. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: ChaosVortex on 5 May 2008, 02:51:21 It's interesting and I would've probably loved it if I wasn't tired of being underleved early in the game.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: TheRedPriest on 5 May 2008, 15:10:33 JRPG's = Fail Disgaia is a TACTICAL RPG, not a traditional RPG. And even for a tactical RPG, Disgaia was designed around grinding. Even I find it overdone. But most of the time a good RPG strikes a balance between leveling and game progression. Disgaia is not one of those, but as it's a tactical RPG, I generally forgive it. And people who feel the need to put a "J" or "W" infront of RPG can go ##### off. They're all RPGs regardless of country of origin. And most ALL RPGs have been ##### for the last 2 or 3 years. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 5 May 2008, 16:53:12 And most ALL RPGs have been ##### for the last 2 or 3 years. lolhuh? Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: TheRedPriest on 5 May 2008, 22:47:12 Having a problem reading?
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 6 May 2008, 01:58:50 YES.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 6 May 2008, 04:34:09 JRPG's = Fail Fine, I'll make a blanket statement. RPG's = Fail Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: TheRedPriest on 6 May 2008, 22:41:17 Fine, I'll make a blanket statement. THAT'S BETTER. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Friggit Deathblade on 7 May 2008, 19:55:50 1: You mispelled Disgaea.
2: What failed was Superman 64 {unrelated, just a VERY horrible game}. 3: Lemons. That's all. End topic. *eats a lemon* Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: preventerWIND on 7 May 2008, 20:22:54 Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: ASR on 7 May 2008, 23:00:44 90% of the people who mention SuperMan 64 have never even played it.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Johncarllos on 8 May 2008, 00:56:25 80% of all statistics dropped on the spot are made up.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: TheRedPriest on 8 May 2008, 18:43:04 90% of the people who mention SuperMan 64 have never even played it. My room mate still owns it. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Fatso on 9 May 2008, 01:08:07 1: You mispelled Disgaea.Don't correct spelling if you're going to make a spelling error yourself. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Captain Sanoguchi on 9 May 2008, 05:13:51 90% of the people who mention SuperMan 64 have never even played it. ...I rented it once. It gave me AIDS. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Mikero on 15 May 2008, 23:39:56 90% of the people who mention SuperMan 64 have never even played it. I rented it. I found the fact that you could basically free roam pretty nice. It was OK I guess, but I've never played a GOOD Superman game. Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Abominator on 16 May 2008, 13:06:39 You clearly never had a ZX Spectrum.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: TheRedPriest on 16 May 2008, 17:44:12 My experience with things with "ZX" in the title has shown they suck.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Friggit Deathblade on 17 May 2008, 02:54:48 Eh, could've been a lot better. That's not to say that they sucked completely. Its better to play ZX for a couple hours than some Barbie game.
Title: Re: New Disgaea games Post by: Mikero on 17 May 2008, 03:15:56 You clearly never had a ZX Spectrum. Definitely never had a ZX Spectrum. |
