Title: Battle Network 7 Post by: Xzeemo on 7 May 2008, 23:51:08 It was quite awhile ago, but I remember seeing a BN fansite attepting to make a BN 7 and they were advertising it for sale. Does anyone know if they ever succeeded in selling it? Or even finishing it? Because it would probably be either the best in the series or the absolute worst.
Thinking about it, would it even be legal for them to sell the game due to copyrights etc.? Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ChaosVortex on 7 May 2008, 23:56:44 It's not an official game from Capcom, I can tell you that.
Therefore, the likelihood of it sucking is very high. Especially a Battle Network 7. Enough is enough. Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ASR on 7 May 2008, 23:58:00 If it ever happened, it's not anything you want to play.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ChaosVortex on 7 May 2008, 23:59:32 By my logic, Star Force WAS Battle Network 7, so that assumption is pretty accurate.
I just realized there was an excess "t" in the topic title. Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Xzeemo on 8 May 2008, 00:01:04 Haha yea, I was just interested to see if anyone actually played it, I really have no doubts that it would suck. But yea, the website said that it wasn't sanctioned by Capcom at all. Wonder how legal that is.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: NovaMan XP on 8 May 2008, 01:12:42 It was canned. Because it didn't exist.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 8 May 2008, 18:33:43 It was quite awhile ago, but I remember seeing a BN fansite attempting to make a BN 7 and they were advertising it for sale. Does anyone know if they ever succeeded in selling it? Or even finishing it? Because it would probably be either the best in the series or the absolute worst. 1. Fansite fangame. Never going to be done even if such a project was started. 2. If ever finished, it would be the game equivalent of a picture done by a blind child with cerebral palsy finger painting with feces while being dragged through the mud by an enraged rodeo bull, ie COMPLETE #####. 3. Sellling it. OH HO HO HO HO HO! Capcom would slap that down and sue the poor fools back to the stone age if they even TRIED to do that. So you see, even asking such a question was a colossal waste of everyone's time. But because you gave us a few yucks and I got to compose the delightful mental picture featured in point 2, you get 5 Wily Fun Bux. Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Friggit Deathblade on 8 May 2008, 19:51:48 BN7 would undoubtedly cause the resurrection of Hitler, every nuclear power plant going critical, and you finding out that you were adopted. {Sorry, had a rough day. o.-}
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Winged Warrior on 8 May 2008, 20:49:19 Even with all that happening, I doubt it would be worse than what rez would unleash...
*hides from nibbles and any and all possible family members.* Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Xzeemo on 9 May 2008, 05:20:09 ^.^ The only reason I even posted this was to see all of your guys's reactions. I thought it was funny when I saw that the fansite was even trying to make it. It just made no sense. I wish I could remember what site it was that I saw it on. It made me chortle.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: The Otaku on 11 May 2008, 17:07:46 I don't even want to look at another BN game. The thought of an unofficial one just makes me puke.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Xzeemo on 11 May 2008, 18:05:23 Yea, I think they were reusing either BN 3 or BN 6's sprites. I can't remember. It looked horrendous though.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: NovaMan XP on 11 May 2008, 20:39:12 ...Didn't CAPCOM reuse their own sprites in their games too?
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ChaosVortex on 11 May 2008, 20:41:24 Nah. Not Capcom. Never.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: NovaMan XP on 11 May 2008, 20:44:15 Never ever?
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Fatso on 12 May 2008, 03:37:04 Never EVER.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Dizzi on 15 May 2008, 11:42:41 never ever ever?
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Mikero on 16 May 2008, 04:44:57 Oh my God. I was going to post that last night but didn't think anyone would get it.
"Forever, forever-ever-eva?" Oh my, haha. Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Dizzi on 17 May 2008, 02:46:33 whoever even tries to make a BN7 should be murdered
its like trying to ressurect Stalin Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Mikero on 17 May 2008, 07:09:32 I just thought of the ultimate evil creature; Staline Dion.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ASR on 17 May 2008, 17:18:16 You're twisted.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Xzeemo on 19 May 2008, 01:33:47 Oh God, what have we created?
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Fatso on 19 May 2008, 01:37:29 Shh, we haven't created it yet!
*beckons Xzeemo to lab* Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Xzeemo on 19 May 2008, 02:48:46 Exxxxxcellent.....
*booming nefarious laughter* Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ASR on 19 May 2008, 11:36:48 I just realized that if they ever make a Simpsons porno, it must be called "EXXXcelent."
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 19 May 2008, 15:08:34 I just realized that if they ever make a Simpsons porno, it must be called "EXXXcelent." You haven't been on the internet much, have you? Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: ASR on 19 May 2008, 20:23:06 I like to stay both ignorant and optimistic on the matters of such things.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Mikero on 20 May 2008, 06:50:19 Then don't "Google" Flinstones or Snow White.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Winged Warrior on 20 May 2008, 07:39:47 Or anything about FF7 Spoilers...
based on a true story.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 20 May 2008, 16:33:00 I'm sorry, but once a game has been out 10 years, it's plot is fair game.
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: Mikero on 20 May 2008, 21:05:23 Hold up. When did Battle Nettwork 1-6 happen?
Title: Re: Battle Nettwork 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 20 May 2008, 22:38:28 200 years before Starforce.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Neo Arcadian Hero on 27 May 2008, 21:49:58 after megaman BN4 all games in that timeline should have been destryoed including SF
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 27 May 2008, 21:56:18 Uh... BN 4 is the WORST of the last 3 you know.
But we all know Battle Network had 3 games, Classic had 8, X had 4 and one RPG and Legends had 3 game AND THAT'S ALL THE MEGAMAN GAMES THEY EVER MADE. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: NovaMan XP on 27 May 2008, 23:08:41 All the others are just bad nightmares nobody wants to relive again.
Except Powered Up. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: ChaosVortex on 28 May 2008, 00:10:06 And Maverick Hunt-
... er. Well. Give or take. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: preventerWIND on 28 May 2008, 19:07:15 It had Mark Gatha and Shining Finger, that earns my immediate respect.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Neo Arcadian Hero on 29 May 2008, 00:15:47 Sorry sorry sorry...
I meant BN4 AND UP BN4 was the worst of the whole series... Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Winged Warrior on 29 May 2008, 02:04:27 ##### you NAH.
Even your name is negative. Get your own opinion! Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: ChaosVortex on 29 May 2008, 02:22:21 His name reminds me of GX, with the Neo and the Hero. Blech.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Mikero on 29 May 2008, 05:10:05 His name reminds me of bad usernames for MegaMan forum use.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Neo Arcadian Hero on 1 June 2008, 05:50:37 Mock my name if you will, but I was bored and that name popped into my head
Id change it of I could, but it looks kinda permanent... Besides... It's just a name... It doesn't change who i am. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Mikero on 1 June 2008, 10:12:20 Whatever you say Hitler Jr.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: ASR on 1 June 2008, 12:09:19 Names change who you are. If I were named Hitler or Darth Vader, less people would talk to me.
Or maybe more people would. I don't know, but my point is valid both ways. In strictly a comical sense. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Neo Arcadian Hero on 1 June 2008, 19:33:01 Well yes that would be the case were Neo Arcadian Hero my real name.
It's just what happens when you were bored, started playing Megaman Zero 2, had it fresh in you mind, found this site and didn't have an inch of creativity to think up a better name. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 3 June 2008, 17:39:37 Ah, see, there lies your problem. You were playing Mega Man Zero. I can see how you'd make that mistake though, what with the X series being all kinds of win it's easy to think that "this series that stars Zero must be pretty boss too!". Rest assured though, it's a mistake people only make ONCE.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: ChaosVortex on 3 June 2008, 17:41:38 what with the X series being all kinds of win it's easy to think that "this series that stars Zero must be pretty boss too!". Rest assured though, it's a mistake people only make ONCE. One of biggest WTF moments of my life: Playing Mega Man Zero for the first time. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: TheRedPriest on 3 June 2008, 17:51:45 Well, I thought the art direction was complete ##### from screen shot one, but I was willing to give it a shot. I shan't be burned like that again, I'll tell you that.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Winged Warrior on 4 June 2008, 06:17:31 I liked Zero's thong... but this isn't the MMZ disucssion... IS IT?!
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: preventerWIND on 4 June 2008, 13:40:19 They have the same scent of fail on them, in this series, they don't even have underwear; it's all onesies up the ass.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Rama Olendris on 6 June 2008, 22:05:05 Another fan-made game? You hear people doing this on and off again; as with the people who wanted to re-make Chrono Trigger, they are just going to get a cease and desist letter from Capcom if they even DARE to try and sell it. If they just make it for their own amusement it's one thing, but selling is off limits.
But the better question is this; why would anyone WANT a Battle Network 7?? Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: Mikero on 7 June 2008, 02:02:13 Well clearly they wouldn't try to sell it, and are also stupid for bothering to try making more crap.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: The Otaku on 8 June 2008, 18:17:44 Have you people heard of New Horizons? I'm sure you have. It looks nice, based on the screenshots from the website, and I'd like to try it out, but I don't know what an "computer program of dubious legality" is . . .
EDIT: Computer program of dubious legality? Never mind. I'll just google it rather than get myself banned. Forget I even asked. Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: preventerWIND on 8 June 2008, 18:23:06 Yeah, don't go near what it uses to be played. But I have played it and I can say it's pretty mediocre, the movement doesn't feel like a real MM game, more like those platform Sega Genesis games that nobody has ever heard of, theres not even sounds, just music. But I can say the sprites and design look pretty fresh.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: The Otaku on 8 June 2008, 18:39:22 It must be pretty bad, if the best thing in it are the sprites.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: ASR on 8 June 2008, 18:59:00 What does that mean? I don't even know what that's supposed to mean.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: The Otaku on 8 June 2008, 19:13:32 I meant that if the only good part about the game are sprites, and every other aspect of the game is bad, then the overall product must suck.
Title: Re: Battle Network 7 Post by: preventerWIND on 8 June 2008, 19:14:02 It does.
