Title: My first car Post by: Speed Racer on 29 June 2008, 07:18:41 It's a 1995 Honda Civic LX that I've named Killswitch. It's two-toned because the last owner's wife got it in a small accident. The front of the car had to be replaced (the engine and all were fine, it was just some cosmetic body work), so it's all good. Quite a steal for $2200.
Oh yeah, and that's my fine ass in one of the pictures. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Xzeemo on 29 June 2008, 09:54:06 Congrats man, my first (and current) car is a 93 Toyota Camry wagon. Yea, it's pretty much #####in'. But it still runs fine, no leaks after 173,000 miles. I'm kinda amazed, leave it to the Japs I guess right.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Johncarllos on 29 June 2008, 13:20:50 leave it to the Japs I guess right. ... Called for? No. Nice job getting a car, I must also acquire one this summer. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 29 June 2008, 14:45:47 I've been spoiled for my first car. A Saab 9-3.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Speed Racer on 29 June 2008, 15:45:21 My brother wanted a Saab for the longest time. Now he's driving a Chevy Lumina van that he doesn't take care of.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Abominator on 29 June 2008, 16:08:42 I can't drive to save myself, so my first car is unlikely to ever exist.
I blame OutRun and Crazy Taxi. Title: Re: My first car Post by: KPL on 29 June 2008, 16:34:21 Nice. Honda are good cars, and as long as it brings you from A to B, who cares.
I do not own a car, but there's always one around with the door unlocked, so. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 29 June 2008, 16:37:41 That car will live longer than you.
Wise decision. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 29 June 2008, 19:24:01 My Saab has this crazy-awesome cupholder thing that you push and it retracts out from the control panel in some ultra-cool motion.
I tell people it's the only reason I bought the car. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 29 June 2008, 19:25:28 Liar.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 29 June 2008, 19:26:48 They just say "you didn't buy the car," and I can't really counter that because my grandpa bought it for me.
But sometimes, if I'm in a good mood, I say I won it on Legends of the Hidden Temple along with a box of Ring Pops. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 29 June 2008, 19:32:20 Exactly.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 29 June 2008, 19:51:37 I'll NEVER buy a car!
... -_-;; Title: Re: My first car Post by: Mikero on 29 June 2008, 21:43:38 I haven't owned my own car yet but the first car I had unlimited access to and could drive was a 1990 Volkswagen Jetta. And it was the bomb. But it was old and although it was in INCREDIBLE shape it was time for it to roll so we now have a new Pontiac Wave on lease.
My Saab has this crazy-awesome cupholder thing that you push and it retracts out from the control panel in some ultra-cool motion. Our Pontiac has that. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 29 June 2008, 22:00:11 It's soooo much fun. A year later and I still get the same amusement I did the first time.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: preventerWIND on 29 June 2008, 22:01:34 I'll be getting a Pontiac GTP later this year, once I learn how to drive my dad is going to let me and my brother have it. It's just ours, no one elses.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Speed Racer on 30 June 2008, 19:06:19 That car will live longer than you. Thanks. The guy I bought it from told me that as long as I don't get in a major accident, that car will run for close to forever. And with only 139,000 miles on it after 13 years of being on the road, that's pretty damn good. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 30 June 2008, 21:46:04 Mine's pushing 500,000.
Not a thing wrong with it. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Mikero on 21 July 2008, 22:40:49 You'll be able to learn next year, yeah? Relax. It's easy.
And "wwMMww" is not a crown. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Speed Racer on 22 July 2008, 04:04:43 Oh yeah, and I know this is some late news, but I got my license on July 9th. I wasn't sure that I would pass the parallel parking, but after I did, the rest was a piece of cake.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 22 July 2008, 04:10:36 My mother told me that when she was younger, if you wore a skirt, the instructor wouldn't make you parallel park.
When I took my test, I tested that theory. I didn't have to parallel park. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 04:13:13 Ha, he just didn't want to bear you any longer than he had to.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 22 July 2008, 04:18:24 That seems to be a common trend.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 04:21:04 The next logical step is to become a supervillain.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: XJ on 22 July 2008, 04:27:35 "So, Mr. Wily, the last part of the test is the parallel parking. And there's no reason to be nervous."
"Ach, I have no vorries about this part, Mr. Instructor." "Alright, but before we begin, can I ask why you're wearing that plaid skirt?" "Um...it vas in mine size?" "...Fair enough. You pass the test." "ACH! I CAN DO ANYTHING!" I got my permit about two weeks ago. And I can definitely thank Mario Kart for all the eye-road-blueshellabouttohit coordination it taught me. I'm a freaking awesome driver, and everyone who rides with me tells me that. I drive my mom's Chevy Beretta, can't remember the year, but it drives great. I'll get the specs about it later. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 04:33:18 I got my license on my 17th birthday and got in a minor accident the very next day. Sums up my life.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 22 July 2008, 04:37:42 Drama queen.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 04:39:12 At least I don't wear skirts.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: XJ on 22 July 2008, 04:40:16 My mom was driving straight at a green light, and a guy turned in front of her, smashed the side of her car, and started driving down the wrong side of the road. She found out later that the guy just got his license the day before.
Sound familiar, dear ASR? *KA-GLARE* Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 04:42:17 I didn't get the ticket, some asshole pulled out of the car wash and couldn't make it into the lane in time so the sides of our cars tapped as he tried to make it in while I was shifting lanes.
Though admittedly, I was still in the wrong and should've been paying attention. I could've easily avoided it. Title: Re: My first car Post by: XJ on 22 July 2008, 04:46:56 You were looking at the boys again, weren't you?
Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 04:47:25 There was a gay guy in my car at the time. So he was doing that for me.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: XJ on 22 July 2008, 04:50:27 ...Touche.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 22 July 2008, 04:53:59 At least I don't wear skirts. You're missing out. They're hella comfortable. And while we're talking about crashes, my friend just got into an accident a few nights ago. He walked away from this: Title: Re: My first car Post by: ChaosVortex on 22 July 2008, 04:54:10 I got my permit about two weeks ago. And I can definitely thank Mario Kart for all the eye-road-blueshellabouttohit coordination it taught me. I'm a freaking awesome driver, and everyone who rides with me tells me that. Friends made some cracks on it. I got to school real quickly and they asked me if I ever snaked getting there. I need more lanes to do that. I also wish I could hop in my car. EDIT to Edge: WELL #####. Title: Re: My first car Post by: XJ on 22 July 2008, 04:56:43 I wish my car could use red shells, but we can't have everything now, can we?
Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 05:00:21 Chaos, you stole my "Well, #####."
That is some crazy stuff, Edge. Is he okay? Title: Re: My first car Post by: ChaosVortex on 22 July 2008, 05:00:53 ##### Red Shells.
Bullet Bill's where it's at. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Edgecrusher on 22 July 2008, 05:03:54 That is some crazy stuff, Edge. Is he okay? Amazingly, yes. He has some bruising, cuts, and probably a few bruised ribs, but all-in-all he's okay. At least, we think he is. He's too stubborn to see a doctor. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ChaosVortex on 22 July 2008, 05:10:58 Suddenly, I'm recalling a scene from "No Country for Old Men".
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Mikero on 22 July 2008, 23:28:16 That is some crazy stuff, Edge. Is he okay? What actually happened? It looks like half the car decided to forcibly end it's relationship with it's other half. Also, I'm ignoring the talk about driving permits and Mario Kart as when you two are like a year older you'll realize how gay a conversation that is. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 22 July 2008, 23:31:52 I don't know, I wouldn't mind being able to launch red shells every once in a while.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Chron on 22 July 2008, 23:32:43 Honda makes a fine car, so I'm sure Speed is happy with this thing.
I used to have an old Accord that was some ten or eleven years old, and only broke due to a rare factory defect that popped a bolt out and jammed it in one of the belts, blowing the engine (just about). But I was still able to drive it for a mile after it happened. They're tough cars. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ChaosVortex on 22 July 2008, 23:44:44 Also, I'm ignoring the talk about driving permits and Mario Kart as when you two are like a year older you'll realize how gay a conversation that is. I'm just going to disagree with you because you're too serious. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Mikero on 23 July 2008, 00:17:23 I'm not being serious at all, I'm just saying you're age and newness to driving is showing. There's nothing wrong with it, just... You'll see what I mean when the new driver smell wears off or something.
I just realized that no one questioned that the "Speed Racer" only JUST got his own car. Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 23 July 2008, 01:09:42 I think we all just agreed to let him pretend.
He's like the special cousin that you let play with the plastic weapons because you don't have the heart to tell him they aren't real. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Abominator on 9 August 2008, 23:58:54 my first car is unlikely to ever exist. For the first time in history, I WAS WRONG! CHECK IT OUT, BITCHES! (i rule) Title: Re: My first car Post by: Vinchenz Rock on 10 August 2008, 00:05:33 JAWsome.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: NovaMan XP on 10 August 2008, 00:10:09 Hah, Abe's Mini..
Nice. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Snare on 10 August 2008, 03:31:08 Everything about that is beautiful.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: ASR on 10 August 2008, 04:12:48 I love it, man. I bet you love it more, though.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Winged Warrior on 10 August 2008, 04:17:06 I donno, I thought Speed's first car would look a little more like...
Abe's car is dead on though. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Johncarllos on 10 August 2008, 22:41:23 I would NEVER fit in that.
Title: Re: My first car Post by: Speed Racer on 11 August 2008, 07:18:59 I just realized that no one questioned that the "Speed Racer" only JUST got his own car. When I turned 16, I lived 10 minutes outside of the Philly city limits. Any place that we (us teenagers) needed to get to, you either walked, or took a bus or train. Never really any need for us to get a car except for pissing contests. I donno, I thought Speed's first car would look a little more like... It does look like that. But only when I pop in the Alpha Team "Speed" (a Speed Racer theme song remix done back in 1993) cassette. Title: Re: My first car Post by: Mikero on 16 August 2008, 05:10:50 Well that is clearly not your first, but your FIFTH car anyway.
