I was migrating some of my old archived files between RAIDs when I rediscovered the Ask Doctor Wiley comics I hung on to from... however-many years ago.
It filled me with a warm nostalgia, and I thought to myself "I wonder whatever happened to The MMM"
Lo and behold it's still here, though it looks as though Rez and Speedy are pretty much the last men standing. (Makes sense that it'd be a couple MMM OGs)
I don't know that I have anything worthwhile to contribute to what remains of this place, but I want you guys to know that I miss you all and the community we shared here.
I hope you are all happy and well, wherever life has taken you.
One of my friends figured it would end up being Cody, but because they hadn't really developed his personality, the viewer was likely projecting onto him, which means it would be like killing a kid the viewer knew (as odd as that sounds). I have to say though, I figured they were gonna cover the first two steps and Rita was gonna be one of the jumpers, since they went so far out of their way to establish that the jumper always had to be a mother.
Here's hoping they use the Grandparents they introduced (or acknowledged the existence of) as a way to dump Cody and Astor. The baby will stay, given that the whole "baptism of blood" concept is obviously in play, but the last thing I want to watch is a season of Dexter babysitting.
I also assume Deb will step in to help out, for pretty obvious reasons, but here's hoping that doesn't last too long either.
I'm getting Season 2 vibes from where the show is going. Especially since Trinity vanished with Rita as his last kill, WHILE the feds are hunting for him.
Also, I appreciate that they warmed Quinn into Doakes' role. He was always an obvious replacement character, but the fact that they eased him into antagonism made it seem A BIT less obvious.
Also, I hate what they've done to Harry. Every scene where he acts as Dexter's internalized doubt induces an eye-roll. Easily the only part of the show I consistently dislike. I can deal with their pissing on his memory, but the needlessly heavy-handed exposition is just annoying.
...sexting... riiight.
Who the hell makes a kid sign a contract promising not to hurt themselves? What did he plan to do in this scenario, sue for breach of contract?
I'd hate to say it, but I'm not convinced (by this interview, anyway) that her mother followed a wise course of action. Punishing your child for something that haunts them everywhere they go seems like overkill, and the fact that she likened breaking the "house rule" of no nude photos with not taking out the trash would lead me to believe she never actually SPOKE with her daughter about the incident. I'm not talking about lecturing, because I'm sure she did plenty of that, I'm talking about actually sitting down with her and exploring the reasons that she sent the text, and how the aftermath made her feel.
Also, where the hell was the school faculty? When I was in middle school, if a staff member heard you call another student anything nearly as derogatory as "slut" they would have tossed your ass in detention at the very least. This whole thing smacks of poor adult supervision on pretty much every front.
Ultimately, this just goes to show the harm that shame (particularly needless shame) can do.

I was fifteen years old when the first Pokemon game game out in the US, so I slipped the initial net that seemed to have caught everyone else and dragged you all along through various iterations of the exact same game.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't that the chick that did the "He knows I'm cheating, and I know it breaks his heart, but I can't close my legs" song?
Sounds like it was just a matter of time before someone kicked that bitches ass.

The difference is really marginal though.
I actually regret buying the component cables for my Wii, though I suspect that is due to the combination of what I consider to be a negligible difference, and the fact that I almost never play the damn thing.

Inversion doesn't have to be about a specific axis, and doesn't imply anything beyond a reversal.
I realized shortly after posting that "inversed" in the context I used it was redundant, but I assumed what I meant was clear enough, so I left (and will leave) it.

You don't get classic controller support because they want to shove the motion sensor feature down your throat.
That's why so many elements utilize it.
It's ironic that the Wii's main attempt at innovation is the primary flaw in all its top tier titles.

History is boring.
You're doomed to repeat it if you know what it is or not.
And JC, if it's any consolation, I've spent the last few years studying international history for school, and I've learned all sorts of stuff. That said: having gone from uneducated to relatively informed, I don't feel as though my life as really been enriched in any significant way. It's good stuff to know in terms of culture, but it has absolutely zero practical value to the average person.

It had great intentions, and the premise is solid enough, but the execution was weak.
Kristen Bell carries the show, but her strength alone is insufficient.
The show got even more corporate-ized in the third season, when episodes became bite-sized plots with little cohesion between them.
Kristen Bell is #####ing hot though.

It's more of a factor in the fourth book.
They kind of insinuate that she's been in denial about it for awhile, and is only now starting to discuss it, usually with disdainful accusations.
Though it does feel a bit awkward, after how casually they interacted in the last few books.
EDIT: Added spoiler tags. Without ASRs post it really doesn't tell you much, but I figured I'd err on the side of caution.

I just really wish some elements of the books would leak into the show.
The relationship between Cody, Astor, and Dexter is significantly more enthralling in the books, for example, and gives the sense of Dexter as a father far better than anything the show has been able to muster.
Thank god the show does a better job with closure.
Though that third season finale was a bit sketchy...
