I keep trying to type something out for this and half of the time I stare at a blank textbox unsure of what to say, and the half I feel like I have nothing worthwhile to add, as I already post plenty about my life here.
I don't know if that's the depression talking.
I ended up married, with two kids and a dog. I got to present at pop culture conferences twice and got published once, which academically are my proudest achievements. I had to leave academia behind. The culture is too toxic, the pay too crappy, and I just didn't have the time anymore. Adding children to your life will do that. I've got a list of research paper ideas that will never see the light of day.
My kids, sappy as it may be, are the actual joy in my life. They're smart, curious, weird, and very much their own people. I see myself in them a lot and I try to guide them on a path to prevent the same mistakes I did. They know they are loved and have parents that accept them for who they are (except when they say they're rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles), and they're just great kids. My oldest loves the Jurassic Park/World and Star Wars movies, Minecraft, and sneaking kung fu movies with me. My youngest loves stuffed animals, Battle Kitty (some interactive Netflix show), and wearing whatever they damn well please. They're both brave kids, and I hope they always know how much their dad loves them.
I've been married for ten years with plenty of ups and downs, but my wife is awesome and we're still very much in love. We balance each other out with our parenting styles and stuff we take care of around the house, and despite constant money issues, we feel like we're doing pretty well. She's got a job interview tomorrow for a library director position, so if you're reading this, send some good vibes please.
I'm going to bed now. I might write more another day.

I provide the most sustenance. I'll sacrifice a back muscle or two.
Or a whole Xero.
Yeah, but think of how good a big fat guy like me will taste. Put me in the slow cooker for like 10-12 hours and you'll have meat so tender it slides off the bone!

The new Anti-Flag and Iggy Pop albums are good. Go listen to them.
Boy, this post didn't age well. ##### Justin Sane (lead of Anti-Flag). Anywho, I'm blasting the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike OST while working.

Wife and I took the kids to see Across the Spider-Verse which was holy ##### an amazing time. Loved it so damn much, between seeing all of the different suits, the fun jokes for fans, and just a really #####ing good movie. Looking forward to the next installment.

Overall the show Picard is the worst of the Star Trek shows out there, with two seasons of absolute crap and ripoffs/homages to Mass Effect and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home just to get to a final season that is a two-hour movie spread over ten episodes to undo the damage of Star Trek: Nemesis. Looking back, there's a lot of filler crap to set up future shows that may or may not happen. Like there's plenty of awesome ##### in S3, but there's also a lot of fat that could've been trimmed for a streamlined proper end for the TNG crew.
I still really enjoyed S3, but I don't think I'll ever rewatch Picard.

Garden Simulator is for people who want a "simulator" game with the gardening mechanics of Animal Crossing or Disney Dreamlight Valley and the zen of PowerWash Simulator. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

We sprung the kids from school early last week so they could go see an early afternoon showing of Return of the Jedi before it left theaters. Both kids loved it; it was also the second movie my youngest has seen on the big screen (first being Sonic the Hedgehog 2). For me it was great because I haven't seen ROTJ on the big screen since 1997, and as an adult who has easily seen the movie 200+ times, this time I could ignore the plot and just take in all of the stuff going on in the background like the different aliens, set design, details on the matte paintings, etc. Fantastic time!

For real, it is absolutely wild that some of us have been discussing film in this thread since 2007. Like, holy #####, I was still in college and writing for a now-defunct UK film site.

Wrapped up the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy. Looking forward to where the new season goes, but also feels like the last episodes happened so Playmates would have an excuse to make more toys for a line which seemingly has yet to ship.

I am now playing Mighty Goose. Dominic Ninmark composed the OST of the game (He is doing the music for Mega Man X Corrupted) Game is pretty solid.
I had to review that game when it came out for Xbox. Solid and tough; I wish I was better at that game.

Unless Rez wants to fund the series...?
How am I suppose to buy video games and hookers if I'm bank rolling a web comic?
Pretty sure you're supposed to prostitute yourself. It's what Dr. Wily would've wanted.

These comics are the reason why no one is viewing my dating profiles.
I thought it was the "UNLESS YOU'RE IRIS FROM MEGA MAN X4 DON'T CONTACT ME" as your lead-off that turned people off.

We were on vacation in Maine a couple of weeks ago, we watched a few films as a family, and a couple by myself:
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (of course, multiple viewings) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (oldest son is really into the Silver Surfer and likes the idea of the Fantastic Four - haven't watched this since the theaters, and honestly it was pretty fun. Except for not knowing what to do with Galactus, they did a pretty good job) Hop (youngest son loves this movie, it is absolute bland kid crap) Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) At the Earth's Core Marked for Death Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (low budget, fairly middling crap movie. Worth a rental) Constantine: The House of Mystery (good anthology movie, some genuinely weird/#####ed up #####. I'd love there to be an Adult Swim-esque Blue Beetle/The Question cartoon show. Honestly all four cartoons I'd be willing to see sequels to)

Picard S2 ended strong after the last few episodes meandered. Looking forward to the final season.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds had its first episode last week, and I'm excited with the new crew. Also excited for The Orville: New Horizons next month.

Wife and I took the kids to go see Sonic the Hedgehog 2. We sprung the oldest kid out of school early that day so we could go to a 4:15 showing where there wouldn't be anyone. Whole family enjoyed it and it was great seeing the surprise on their faces once they realized that we were going to a movie theater AND seeing Sonic 2.
