How much are you affected by videogames?
An example: I started liking coffee after playing Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations. When I drink it, I go all like "Duh duh duh duh DUH. Duh duh. Duh duh duh duh duh duuuh duh duh duh. duhdu duh duh duh duh DUH. Duh duh duh DUH duh duh duh duh DUH duh duh DUh duh. Duh du doo duh duh doo doo doo..."
Yeah...
I know.

Edit: Also Law and Order...

I've liked music more since I started playing Guitar Hero.
Mostly singing and drums.
Hell, I can play expert drums now on Rock Band and I really wanna sit down at a drum set and see if ANYTHING can translate over.

Besides that, the Legend of Zelda got me into archery.

Mario got me into eating mushrooms.

My brother too.

He's also eaten plastic Mutagen from TMNT action figure sets.

When young, after playing too much Donkey Kong Country, I would throw basketballs at people in hopes they'd fall off screen when I hit them.

...

I can't think of anything, really. I find that surprising.

Seriously though, video games have never gotten me into doing anything relative to habits.

Instead, games have encouraged a change in taste:

Game systems I use most
What/how I draw
story preferences

They encourage me into buying their sequels/prequels, but they do not encouraging me into  carrying an M40.

Actually, in all seriousness, video games helped spark my passion for reading (thanks RPGs!), as well as my passion for logic puzzles and spatial reasoning. (Thanks Intelligent Qube!)

And I learned everything I know about the Hussite Wars from Yoshi's Island.

Admittedly I know very little about the Hussite Wars.

Almost every game I've ever owned has had an AWESOME soundtrack, so it could be said that my interest in video game music was inspired by the games I played. Other than that, nothing.

Long before I started really listening to actual bands, videogames were my source of music. That branched over into me liking techno music, and while I still like some techno if it's very very good, that was short-lived. I knew what kind of sound I liked, but I didn't know why until a while after I started listening to symphonic metal.

And yeah. I listen to all kinds of music now. I'm sure something else would've got me into it otherwise, but I can still attribute the interest to videogames.

If I got into a project for a videogame, I'd be the one in level/character design.

It's amazing that I'm married.

I learnt half of my english vocabulary thanks to videogames, pretty much.
Also, after turning myself into a castlevania fan, I think vampires are the best undead.

Oh yeah, that's right, Castlevania games inspired my mini-obsession with the guy in my avatar, although they were supplemented by On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony.

I can't think of anything video games made me do that was new. I was mostly raised by TV instead, though I've been playing vidya games since '86.

I'm really trying to think of something that isn't like "Megaman made me draw robots" or some other dumb thing. The only thing closer than that is I like jumping and parkour stuff because of old 2D platforming, but that's probably not the reason I like that stuff anyway.

Maybe I like Street Fighting because of...

Tekken 3? Har. Har. Of course that's not true, Tekken 3 is awful.

OH ohh! I think Tony Hawk games helped me get into skateboarding. Like, I'd already been doing it a bit since I was younger but it brought the drive back, and my friends started too.

Everything I know about women I learned from Leisure Suit Larry.

That's how I learned to check the drain before ever turning on the faucet in a bathroom sink.

Really?
'Cause I learned everything I know about the Cold War from MGS3.

That must not be much.

And fall.

Slash fail.

For some reason, I never liked Metal Gear Solid when I was young, but I did play Syphon Filter.

Syphon Filter encouraged me to lay low and play stealthy.

I'm going to go ahead and state the obvious here:

If it wasn't for our love of Megaman, none of us would have come here.

I kind of think MegaMan Legends got me into classical music...

Or at least Bach/organ music in general.

Only thing I liked outside of playing Legends that I related to Mega Man Legends was when I was reading a book in "reading rally" in 6th grade. My teacher at the time played classical music while we read. In the middle of the read, I recognized a tune and thought, "THAT'S THE THEME FROM THE MUSEUM!"

Links 2004 reminded me of when I used to play golf with my grandpa when I was a little kid. I wish I could've showed him the game before he died, because I think he would have gotten a kick out of that game (Wii Sports as well). Since I picked up that game, I go golfing with my buddy Doug whenever I visit my old college.
