Well, I never thought I'd post on the 'ol matrix on a nintendo product... but here I am.

Lacking the convenience of an actual keyboard, Typing can be a bother, but that doesn't detur me from exclaiming my approval.

As for the camera... I'ts an expected "Meh."

Despite this nearly useless addition, I suggest the"i" for all you crazies looking for an awesome upgrade in portable gaming (I didn't mention the downloadable 'wares' in the shop) with a cool little didgetal camera/PDA/web browse attached.

EDIT: DAMN DSI KEYBOARD

I might get one. I don't know. I'm getting GTA Chinatown Wars first.

Too bad I'm selling all my Nintendo stuff to invest in the 360....

That seems dumb.

Well no, not dumb... I just don't totally see why.

Well, it's easy.
I never use any of my Nintendo stuff.

Anything I use it for, I could do on other systems with better interfaces, graphics etc...

I feel like every Wii game gets screwed because nobody tried to make them good, just gimmicky.

I does have an I in it, though, and by the second law of acronyms*, that's enough.

I tried to write a Red Dawn joke about Nintendo or DS to put here but it didn't work out so here just pretend this is really funny instead;

If it means I'll finally get to play Super Gorbachev Bros. then I'm all for it!

Can't crit that plan since I got it as a gift and though I wanted to try it was never going to buy or rent it.

I gotta finish it but I had a lot of fun right away. Simple pick and play #####, unlike a lot of games today where it's so thick (which I like, but sometimes... yeah) and if you take a break for a week (my breaks are for months) you totally forget what you were doing.

My cell phone has a camera on it, but I still only ever use my digital camera.
My cell phone plays MP3s, but I still only ever use my Zune for that.
My cell phone can work as a web browser, but I never take advantage of it.

If I don't use those features on an item I have on my person at almost all times, I have a hard time imaging using them on the DSi.

I'll stick to my DS lite until they can give me a legitimate reason to upgrade, and not just useless add-ons.

Exactly Edge.

I must be one of the only few people on the planet that prefer the Old version over the DS Lite anyday. They both have pros and cons, but I prefer having a DS with comfortable buttons and is playable in bright daylight.

I prefer the PSP over the PSP Slim too, but for different reasons. One has more battery life. (Of course, you could chuck that big fat battery on a slim still, but that's mighty awkward.)

I have an old DS, the only reason I haven't gotten a DS Lite is because of the inferior d-pad plus I'd rather not spend my money on something that does nothing to improve gaming. Same goes for the PSP, I have the old one, and I don't ever plan on getting a new one ever, especially since I would assume I wouldn't be able to "play" games on it anymore. Since that's really the only reason I keep the damn thing in the first place.

You have me completely confused with this statement.

I've always had trouble seeing the screen on my original DS in even mediocre daylight... that is to say, an auditorium with only small windows at the very top, all open, at daytime, with fluorescent lights from way up on a high ceiling. In broad daylight I'd have trouble seeing the screen at all because the light AROUND the DS overpowered the light coming out of the DS. With the DSi, I no longer have this problem.

So to me it looks like you're saying you prefer the old version over the DS Lite, but you prefer the DS Lite because that's the one that's actually playable in broad daylight.

I'm sorry, WHAT? I mean... you can even actually see the colours on the brighter screen the way they were meant to be seen because there's no colour loss caused by a dim screen. You are SO mistaken, honestly just put a DS next to a DS Lite in broad daylight and turn them both on and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Yeah, thanks. I've done exactly that. I got a DS Lite around the time New Super Mario Bros. came out and in daylight, I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING on a DS Lite. The screen cover or something is much closer or compact or something (don't know the word) and the sun just glares on the screen and I can't see anything. When I played it on my old one, I could see where I was.

Although the DS Lite is much better indoors, it produces a better colored screen, but yes. I've owned both a DS and a DS Lite at the same time. Again, I've done exactly that, so I don't know what you're talking about.

Well... dude, you can't see EITHER screen when there's a glare. You can't compare a screen reflecting direct sunlight to one that's not. Maybe if you changed the angle of the DS Lite a bit it'd be easier to see. Similarly, angle the normal DS so that it's reflecting an image of the sun directly into your eyes and then see how hard it is to play.

The DS Lite is better outdoors. When there's a power out in the middle of the night, that's probably the only time the other DS is actually better for your eyes, because the screen is a dim light compared to complete darkness, which has less of an effect like staring at a monitor in a dark room, which, as you know, is bad.

You are so crazy right now.

I'm crazy. Deal with it.

BUT YOU'RE SO SILLY

But let me just put it this way. I could find an angle to remove the glare from the old DS, but no matter how I'd play a DS Lite, there would always be a glare.

Much, much better, IMO.

A DSi fits comfortably in my hands. After getting one it feels annoying to play a DSLite now.

The reason I still have the old DS is that it works perfectly. I like the Lite's design best, and that's what I'd rather have than the DSi because I have some damn good GBA games, though I still have a GBASP so I guess it's not such a thing.

Not that I play it much. I just do Brain Age 2 stuff on it now and then which isn't even the right way to play, though I've wanted a couple games.

I found the third Phoenix Wright for like 20 bucks recently but didn't get it for some reason and I'm looking for the-though I'll never get it-first one. I wanted GTA Chinatown Wars but now I don't care so much since I have Saints Row for such things and if I need more of that I'm getting Saints Row 2.

Anyway about the screens, Chaos and Majikn are both right. I can use my DS outside, not that I do, just fine. However, there are times, TIMES, where the glare takes over and the DS might as well be a brick.

Well, the most annoying part for me is the buttons and D-Pad (mostly D-Pad) anyway. If the Lite had a decent one, I would have kept my Lite.

The DSi looks like it has the DS Lite D-Pad though, so I don't get how it's better, even though I'll choose a DSi over a Lite anyday.

DSi does NOT have the same D-Pad as the DS Lite.

It's clicky and feels more responsive.

But is it as good as the original DS's D-pad?

I don't remember my normal DS's D-Pad, it's been a long time since I used one.

I never had a problem with the Lite's until I used my DSi and realized how much better it is.
