So, I recently heard that Golden Sun is being remade on the Nintendo DS.

For those who don't know, Golden Sun is the best game ever. Isaac can totally kick megaman and sonic's asses. I believe it was the year 2001, though I don't plan to google it to find out, That Camelot games created Golden sun. Golden sun is/was an RPG encompassing four adepts of psi, though they were mislabeled and were really elemental invokers, and their journey across the country to defeat the evil group that were trying to end the world. About a year later, the sequel, Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age was released, causing me to spill my seed.

Again, My pants are wet and sticky due to the announcement of a new Golden Sun game. Fortunately this is a remake of the original Golden Sun, It's not a port. It will be 3d (hurray for polygons), Stylus controlled for movement, and obviously feature two screens to play on.

I recommend that anyone that, because of this news, cannot keep their hands out of their pants view the E3 2009 gameplay video in the following link.

They were certainly good games, but

.Isaac can totally kick megaman and sonic's asses.

is just flagrantly untrue.

Especially since Megaman probably doesn't have an ass. No food = no digestion = no ass.

Oh snap it's a remake?

I actually thought it was a third GS. I only actually played the second one, it was the first game I got when I bought the GBA SP. And... it's good. I liked it. But I never felt like replaying it or playing the original.

I still think it's silly when people quote posts above them if they're not opening a new page even if I refrain from saying so a LOT of the time.

You people are silly.

None the less. Yes, it's a remake of the first. All the fun puzzles and lovable characters, and updated flashy magic stuffs. Also, If I know my remakes, There's a great chance of some awesome additions. Also, If I know my DS titles, I'm TOTALLY getting a #####ing Djinni stylus.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a remake.

My memory fails me, but I'm rather sure that, when I watched the E3 trailer on youtube, the dude presenting it said it twas a remake.

I watched the conference... he said nothing about a remake. >_>

It takes place a few decades after the second game, starring the main character's children.

Here's some art that shows that Isaac and the gang aren't in it.

They look similar, but Garet definitely didn't have Lightning magic.

For those who don't know, Golden Sun is the best game ever.

Stopped reading right there.  It wasn't even the best RPG ever son.  It failed to draw me in or keep me playing AT ALL.

Now, let's make this thread into the REAL best game ever made: Mega Man 2.  Discuss.

It was also a time of higher standards.

Too high, perhaps? As much as I normally agree with purple head.

But Rez, I think this time we'll fight a four-headed dragon! NOT TWO, NOT THREE.

EDIT: WW, your use of the word sarcasm is odd. You're implying that you were being ironic when you praised a game that you actually like.

Same here. GS2 wasn't my first GBA game, but I had pretty much the same experience. I really liked Golden Sun 2 (despite the game not really telling yoyu where to go at times, which lead to a LONG period where I didn't play or like the game at all) but it's not the best game ever. Not even top ten. But pretty good.

Also, since I haven't played the first, I'm inclined to like the second games' characters more, though I guess you're not really expected to. Aren't they more right though, anyway?

I'd be more inclined to buy the next game installment, rather than a remake of the first. Although in GS2 none of the characters from the first had any special stuff since I didn't have the original game, so a part of me wouldn't really mind starting it all over.

Who said they weren't?

I don't remember who was more right. It seemed like both of their actions had repercussions that I didn't like, and I was thinking... this world is going to hell.

Nobody, but Mike said he'd like the second game's characters more.

Just wanted to point out that they're the same in both games.

EDIT: After checking a source, no. They're not the same. Felix and his dudes aren't playable in GS, only in the second game. Since the other playable characters in The Lost Age are the four from the first game it is very clear who he means are the second game's characters.

I assumed that he also liked Isaac and Co. in Lost Age.

Also, did anyone notice how much of a douche Isaac is in Lost Age? He was silent in the first game which made him seem like a good guy.

Vinch. If I had my wand I'd ought to fling triangles, circles and squares at you.

Anyway they must not have planned for Felix to be the main playable character in the second game until well into or after the first game was finished, because otherwise I think Isaac and Felix would have held to their given personalities in both games. It seems kind of stupid the way that ended up. You could still easily empathize with Felix, even if you had known him in the first game, if they kept him talking.

It would be odd to play a Zelda game as any other character and having Link deliver a speech before the final battle.
