I'm one of the rare members who actually likes the series.. I liked the story and the gameplay, as well as the art on SOME levels.
The story was good, but I can agree on the cyber elf thing being stupid. Other than that it was really good, having X as an antagonist leading a corrupt empire filled with pantheons (X-clones) was a really wicked idea. If it were an alternate reality and without cyber elves, then it'd probably be my favorite series.
The art was good, of course there's flaws like making everybody look like 14 year old girls, but everything else was pretty cool.
Gameplay was fine, wasn't as glitchy as the SNES MMX games (fact), the only problem I saw was the size of the screen, which everybody knows screws up your ability to play.

Honestly, the story is pretty good... in concept. If it played out like the others it would feel perfect as apposed to incomplete.
Mega Man: "Defeat evil doctor and stop him from ruling the world. Alright awesome."
X: "Destroy robots driven mad by a virus. Great."
Zero: "Long long ago, in a battle that we will explain very little of.... Wait... What? Ok this could still be fun... And X is dead... Wow, lame."
You getting this? It has too much of a backstory, a backstory which is actually important in explaining things, so it's crammed into a game that should have very little of a story line, thus the feeling of the story line being "pushy". Not to mention it's always from one extreme to another extreme with this game, giving everything very little time to develope and play out and leaving it with a story that just sorta seems... there and not really fitting. If it was thought through... like REALLY thought through, I bet you we would have been fighting in the elf wars before they pumped out this, then there wouldn't be a need for a jumbled up backstory.

Zero 1: The bosses are so out of place. Aztec Falcon, Thunder Beetle, and Flame Monkey should be stage select bosses. The four guardians should be fortress bosses, not stage select bosses, unless you want to pull a Megaman 3. The dragon thing and the train do not belong in the stage select part.
Zero 2: The game got alot better on where they can place bosses. But Thunder Kuwanger is an Intermission boss, and the guardians are still stage select bosses.
Zero 3: This game did alot better. It was alot like Megaman 7 and 8. Beat four bosses, and beat an intermission stage, then four more bosses. The problem with it is that there are so many intermission stages that they only put two fortress stages. First off the Baby Elves stage was okay, then we fight three bosses from the first game, kinda like how Megaman fights Megaman 2 bosses again in Megaman 3, with differences being that you fight them in their original forms, you don't fight them in the bosses of this games stages, and they don't include all of them. Finally we get Copy X, who should have had a fortress stage.
Zero 4: This game did a wonderful job on placing bosses where they belong.

Doesn't change the fact that the Zero series is #####.

You could probably say similar things--Other than the ranking system stuff--about the original MM games, so while I don't like the Zero series, I have to disagree with Xero's reasons (in part). Well unlike most of you, I dont go out of my way to go and tell people how bad it is.
You're the only person here going out of your way. As Majikn said, we were already here. If anything, we're going INTO our way, and only when asked, really. If we ALL had the same opinion and cared enough to "go out of our way" or do any sort of EXTRA work for it, there would even be a section for the Zero series or a General Zero Series Enquiries thread. In fact, you're going out of your way to tell us off or something (I really don't understand you), just for having a different opinion than you, of which you, a stranger, shouldn't even care about. And as ASR said, the forum isn't as active as Gaia Online or some stupid thing, so every member tends to join in every conversation and, personally, I like that. Your argument has just been utterly destroyed. I say screw you all who hate this series (especially redpriest. you piss me off the most).
You didn't make it (although you spell like you did).
When you said that, I made a noise like an owl.
Who?
