Then you have a warped vision of what's right and what's wrong....
I honestly can't see how anyone could think that's right, it's so crazy..

The Argentinian Disney Channel does have actual commercials, not just Disney's, but only a few. Also, they are like a normal channel. Twenty or so minutes of program, commercial cut, repeat.
Normal channels have commercial cuts more often than that, though honestly, there really isn't a set timer. It depends on what show and what time it's playing for how many commercial cuts they throw in there. Some hour-long episodes of Lost can have as many as 7 commercial breaks. And yeah, I think Disney Channel only has them between shows, or at least once during, like an act break or something.

Is it wrong that I think the noviciate in Sister Act is a cutie pie? Posted on: 13 July 2009, 00:07:39
I'll take the silence to mean "We all agree with you Mike" and move on; I saw The Hurt Locker tonight on pass. I liked it. I didn't really like it at first, but my main issues resolved themselves. Mainly, I wasn't into there being jokey stuff (more on that in a sec) and the main character is a bit of a cowboy. About the jokes, they probably weren't bad but there's two reasons I didn't like them; The first is simply that I was in a theatre where the audience was broadcasting their feelings over everything. This is usually fine, but maybe because it was a small theatre filled with a middle aged crowd it felt a lot louder or over the top. And they found all the jokes too funny. Much too funny. And they laughed at things that aren't jokes. Blood jammed ammo is so incredibly not funny. The second reason is also simple. The movie is about soldiers in Iraq, specifically the ones who defuse IEDs in Iraq. The reason I don't like any of this, at all, being made light of, at all, is that this is exactly what my cousin did in Afghanistan. Both times he served. So this kind of thing is possibly closer to me than most people. But besides those things I did LIKE the movie. It kept up a constant sense of dread, or anticipation, that I thought was good. It's impossible to make a movie that can even come close to the feeling of the constant need for awareness of actual war, anyway. It had some excellent shots, my favourite being when you can see a guy's eye through his scope on his sniper rifle--That's a bad explanation but if you see the movie you'll probably recognize what I mean. Nothing in the movie surprised me, but it was not really predictable. The crowd in the theatre got surprised often enough so I don't know. But a friendly nameless character getting shot during a firefight is not a surprise. In the same firefight, every subsequent enemy kill is not a surprise. I have a theory about their perceptions of what war is compared to mine based on a generation gap. To not get too much into it, their perceptions of "war" are built on them growing up during the Cold War and ONLY the Cold War until 9/11. The Cold War didn't affect my perceptions because I was born during it's closing years. But the further details of the theory would be too long to get into right now. So anyway, interesting movie. I liked it enough and it got better than it started out. Posted on: 13 July 2009, 22:26:08
Oh yah last night I saw Brüno and liked ischt, but in all I think he vas funnier on Da Ali G Show than in the movie, where as Borat was more or less equal in his movie with him in the show. Weird. Today I trek out of the city to see H-Pizzle and the Half Blood Prizzle.
