Hancock was great. I loved every minute of it. The opening scene to the end, all wicked. Just really good, I don't have to say more. You can't really predict the story until you see the movie, which is nice. You can't really predict anything IN the movie until about a few scenes before it happens, so that's pretty good since most movies I can predict from the trailer, or the first part of the movie anyway.

It was Wall-E or Hancock tonight. I'm very happy with my decision as Wall-E is more of the kind of movie I can see anytime, as I don't think I'll ever really have to say "Have you seen Wall-E?" in a conversation before blowing some spoiler. And it won't come up at work when talking to nerds. Which is my entire day.

I got passes to an early screening of Hellboy II. That's gonna be dope.

Also that preview before Hancock with the dog, Bolt? That's like the first talking animal 3D Animation movie I've actually wanted to see in a looong time as I have been very utterly completely totally tired of the whole overused "let's made a 3D animated movie... ABOUT ANIMALS DAT TALLLLLK!!!1111" genre. So that'll be fun. It's like Homeward Bound. OK, not really, but if you've seen the preview you know what I mean.

YES, Mike, that's what I said about Bolt! They showed that preview before Wall-E, too. It was the only preview packaged with it.

It actually looks like something I'd like.

And Wind, Wall-E was not too short.

I'm going to be watching Hancock today.

I don't think I'd use any early passes because that means I'm forced to see it on a certain day.

Then again, if it's a movie I really want to see, then yeah, I guess I wouldn't mind.

And if you see it early, there should be less people.

People being the primary reason I don't go to theatres anymore.

It's generally full, actually. And that's the only annoying part. Having to go on a certain day isn't bad, because it's free. Free trumps having to go on a wednesday night.

We get passes at work. I guess they send them to us for publicity or something, as we give some to our usual customers. It gets people talking about the movies, which is the ultimate advertisement.

They never said that.
They were just CALLED gods, angels, and now superheroes. When he asked what they are, what she literally said was "Gods, angels" with a comma and then mentioned that these days they're called superheroes. What they actually are was never actually explained at all in the movie. I like that what they are is still ambiguous.
Well if they won't explain it thoroughly then I won't see it.. I saw the trailer and it said something about a "secret". Too bad it wasn't that thrilling..

Also, I'm not going to see it, so anybody who has seen it wanna tell me about the main villain/threat?

That's not the secret. And it's not even important.

The move is awesome. Don't be a chud.

Reading spoilers before seeing a movie is stupid too, by the way.
Also, all that that meant was that they've been called many things over the years. Whatever they are.
So... I just went and watched Hancock.

I finished watching it five minutes ago. Yep.

Anyway, the guy who plays Leonard in The Big Bang Theory was in the background in two scenes.

It got meh reviews everywhere because it's forced to be compared to other superhero movies this season, and there's so many this year. But the movie was awesome. I think I'm gonna be Hancock for Halloween.

Great little fake site for Wall-E.

Definitely text-heavy, but ripe with parody.

Posted on:  8 July 2008, 05:51:39

Finally saw Hancock earlier today.

I like it quite a bit, but even though they're both very different movies and really shouldn't be compared, I think I liked Wall-E more.

My friends and I joke about movie titles and they're porn-film counterparts, like Scattatouille, Kinky Kong (which is real), and Armaget-it-on.

We decided that if anyone brings "Hancock" up in any of these conversations, they get shunned.

I wasn't going against you, I was just saying the word you used that is quite similar to "kitty" was a little too vulgar for MMM.

Don't get me wrong, I swear quite a bit. I hate taboos and censorship, and I'm never afraid to swear in public or talk about questionable things, but I'm ALWAYS smart about it. There are always places where that stuff is not appropriate.

And here, I at least respect that Abe tries to keep it kid-friendly. I'm blowing it out of proportion right now, because I don't really care this much, but now I have to explain it to you.

None of the ones I posted were vulgar, just humorous. I do find porno-movie-titles very amusing, and I have a large mental list of ones my friends and I have come up with over time, but I had to choose wisely which titles to post on MMM.

The three I chose are harmless, with Scattatouille being the most offensive while it really isn't even offensive at all, just moreso than the others.

Whatever.

Oooh, I'd like to take this moment to proudly proclaim that I sometimes watch pornos and fast-forward through the sex scenes just to watch the actual movie. It's a great past-time.

Hancock doesn't even have the word "hand" in it. Yeesh.

A friend of mine made a parody of the movie's title.

I laughed my socks off.

Your friend's jokes are over 200 years old. And over 300 years lame.

My friends and I joke about movie titles and they're porn-film counterparts, like Scattatouille, Kinky Kong (which is real), and Armaget-it-on.

We decided that if anyone brings "Hancock" up in any of these conversations, they get shunned.

Scattatouille is from the 2008 MTV Movie awards.

I invented a gay-porn called "You've Got Male", years before Family Guy made up "You've Got Male Genetalia".

Yeah, I know Scattatouille was in the MTV Movie awards but we though of that one ages ago.

We were specifically talking about Pixar movies. It was hard thinking of good ones. We decided that "The Incredibles" and "Monsters Inc." would just stay the same, sort of like what MTV did with Iron Man.

We had Fisting Nemo, A Thug's Wife, Hummers (a stretch for Cars), and I forgot if we ever thought of anything for Toy Story or Wall-E.

I really like the art style for the Hellboy movies and obviously the comics, too, but I've never seen or read any of it.

And then after this we've got a third The Mummy. Monkeybone still kicks ass, though, and Bedazzled is only good because of him. It's not really good though. AND he had the best guest episodes in Scrubs, even better than Michael J. Fox's.

Modern movies as Russian folk art

Cleverly done and quite brilliant. I don't recognize some of them, though, and I can't read Cyrillic. Whoever the artist is, they've done Terminator, Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Anaconda, and War of the Worlds.

Anyone want to try and figure out the ones I couldn't identify?
