I saw Knocked Up for the first time on DVD, loved it, and then completely forgot about it. I rediscovered it not too long ago, and I'm glad I did.
I rewatch movies a LOT. I have a tally-mark count on the inside of the DVD case for Shaun of the Dead, and the number of tallies is embarrassing.
Basically, I don't mind paying $20 or so for DVDs because I get a LOT of use out of them. Other people in my family buy a DVD, watch it once, and it lays around for a while. Eventually I'll grab it and add it to my own personal collection, where I'll get some real use out of it. I hate renting movies because I know I'm going to watch them again sometime soon, but not immediately.
Lately I've been taking advantage of Blockbuster, though. 4 semi-new movies for $20 is the best deal around, and 2 new movies for $20 is great, too. I usually just wait 'till they move into the other bin, though.
Hell, I got Dead Like Me Season 1 in a 4-for-$20 deal there. Best value ever.

I actually re-watched The Sandlot about a month ago. Still holds up after all these years. Posted on: 3 August 2008, 05:23:55
I have to admit in a guilty-pleasure movie favorite of mine. I love Zoolander. I don't know what it is about it, but I love that movie. There's so many parts that make me laugh every time, like "WHAT IS THIS? A CENTER FOR ANTS?" and "I was the fat kid in my class." "EW!" And I know it's just another stupid movie, and I usually don't care much for Ben Stiller, but something about Zoolander just makes me love it.

Haha, yeah. Apparently this one guy didn't even turn left in his car all day, either, which is dangerously cool. Posted on: 4 August 2008, 03:04:18
Oh. Sweet. Okay. So. Apparently my dad bought "Death Proof" on DVD a while back because it looked interesting, and he never watched it. For those who don't know, it was Quentin Tarantino's movie from the Grindhouse double-feature he worked on with Robert Rodriguez. I never got a chance to see that, but I had really wanted to. So, anyway, I just find this movie sitting around unopened, and my dad forgot he had bought it. So I pop it in. Unbelievable. I have never gotten such an adrenaline rush from a movie before. Tarantino sets up the PERFECT setting for a no-rules car chase at the end of the movie, and throws sexy filler and interestingly long dialogue into every other crevice of the movie. Just a movie made for maximum fun in the viewing. Death Proof. I highly reccomend it. Now I have to go watch Planet Terror, Rodriguez's half.

It wasn't that, something about the way she acted felt cheesy. Almost as bad as Tarantino's part in the film. Posted on: August 04, 2008, 01:09:12 PM
AND. "You know how people say, 'You're okay in my book', or, 'In my book, that's no good.' Well I actually have a book, and you're going in it, under 'Chicken#####.'"

I could've bought Planet Terror today for $5 but I chose not to. That one didn't seem to interest me much. I would never have bought Death Proof on my own, either. Not the kind of movie I'd see and go "I should get this." HOWEVER, I got really lucky and found BOTH seasons of Chappelle's Show for $10 each, and quickly nabbed them up. I also got a movie I've never heard of before, called Big Nothing. I only got it because it has Simon Pegg in it (and David Schwimmer, but I don't care about him). And it was $4. So, it's not much of a loss if it's bad. I have absolutely no idea what it is. Posted on: 4 August 2008, 21:12:07
Okay, I watched Big Nothing and was PLEASANTLY surprised. A great $5 purchase. My first thoughts were "Simon Pegg speaking in an American accent? What?" He sounds a lot different, but it's cool. The movie is basically the typical "fools committing a crime and getting into more and more trouble as the film goes on" fare, but it's actually really creative and it has likeable characters. There are also plenty of funny moments and it's all-around entertaining. The sheer amount of genuinely creative twists and "un-twists" as I've dubbed them is kind of impressive. I've never heard of this movie before, it apparently came out in December 2006. Was it in theaters? I have no idea how this slipped under the radar. I definitely reccomend it. I give it a 7/10.

I want to see Pineapple Express tonight. I've heard good things from my friends (back home who invited me but I couldn't go because I'm stuck up North and very bored), all of which whom have no taste in movies and will usually like anything, but it's still good things.
And also from Mike, who has great taste.
And Rottentomatoes has it at a 69% which is awesome because it's 69 and that's awesome.
...
Anyway, I watched Thank You For Smoking and absolutely loved it. Great, great movie. 7/10 in my book. Maybe an 8. Actually, yeah, probably an 8. Whatever, doesn't matter, that still means I loved it.
Also watched some crap movie called The Ultimate Gift with some rich snob whose even richer grandpop dies and makes him work for his inheritance from beyond the grave, and there's also this little girl with cancer who dies and it still wasn't sad.
