Finally saw I Am Legend.

I really liked it.

I don't know why everyone hated the ending, it was a good one.

That's the main ending, but there might be multiple endings on the DVD.

There's probably enough endings on the DVD to cover the endings of the other versions of this movie from over the years.

But the ending could have still been better than that.

[spoiler]In the book (I Am Legend) they are basically vampires.

In the earliest film adaptation (The Last Man On Earth) they are basically vampires.

In the next film adaptation (The Omega Man) they are albino SoCal hicks who're mental photophobes.

In the latest adaptation (I Am Legend) they are only vampiristic in that they're allergic to UV radiation. But I don't think they drink blood or anything. Haven't seen it.

They changed the name and/or occupation of the guy in most of the adaptions.[/spoiler]

Like i just said I haven't actually seen the new movie but I don't care about spoilers since the initial story is old as hell anyway.

In the movie, they're more like... an in-between hybrid of zombies and vampires. If you get bitten, you turn into a zombie/vampire, an attribute which is common to both parties. The Fresh Prince is immune to this effect.

Leaning more towards zombies save for the whole "can't be in the light" thing.

They do have a thing for blood though, apparently, since one of the traps Hancock sets involves him cracking open a vial of blood and leaving it out for a vambie to come out and grab.

Another movie is The Spirit. Yes, from the comic. Made by the same people that made Sin City, so this movie should kick ass.

Saw the trailer for this months ago, resolved to not see it because.. it looks ridiculous.

The Spirit, if you've ever read the Eisner or Cooke versions, is a pretty seamless mesh of Comedy and Noir.

The movie looks like it's gonna be Noir/Ridiculous.

I've read some of the Eisner versions, and yeah you're right.

I'm still checking it out. I'll see whether I'll be disappointed or not.

Nothing at all in that post says why they're at all like zombies at all. And obviously J is immune to it. Mike Lowrey's immune in every incarnation, dumb-bum. Actually they changed the job of Bagger Vance's character from a waste management guy to a virologist . I guess it would have been weird for Jim West to be a janitor and then suddenly know how to run tests on a disease, but they did that with the character in like every movie they made of that book.

Which movie do you think is better: Iron Man or the Incredible Hulk?

I loved Iron Man, pesonally. Then again, I believe most people did.

I feel Iron Man was better overall, but The Hulk had a much better, well... atmosphere, I suppose. I don't know. I really loved them both.

Incredible Hulk and Iron Man aren't similar enough in style to really compare.

Iron Man was funnier and lighter with almost no fights. Incredible Hulk was serious and darker with mostly fights. I pretty much liked them both equally, but differently.

Either way, Cap shouldn't have that circle shield when he's frozen if they're going by Ultimate universe (which they usually do).

I admit that I know absolutely NOTHING about Captain America. Absolutely NOTHING.

The only superheroes I knew anything about as a kid were Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, and the Hulk.

I had no idea who Captain America was until I saw him in a Marvel vs. Capcom game. I must've been eight, which is pretty late considering I knew Spider-Man, Superman, Bat Man, and Hulk long before that age.

I've never seen him in comics or a movie. I just assumed he wasn't popular. I don't know enough about him either except that he throws his shield, but then again, I don't care enough for comics in general so there.

Cap is a terrible super hero, but he has nice ideals. Of course, he's dead now because of that.

That's on par for most DC heroes. The terrible bit, not the dying thing, although both work I guess.

Cap is actually one of my favourite Marvel heroes. You can't can't him terrible if you actually read his stuff or even some Avengers stuff in the last 10 years. ESPECIALLY (but not limited to) Brubaker's run on the Captain America book. SO damn stellar.

I only have a problem with the boots. Which they tend to leave out of frame wherever possible.

Anyway I am VERY tired of Batman in comics. He's great, and I like him just like everyone else on this planet, but... Nothing's fresh. And in every comic he's in that he's not the star of, he's a TOTAL dick to everyone. And it's not necessary most of the time. Also I have a fr-acquaintance that makes everything Batman unbearable.

But I think there are definitely other good DC Heroes. I love the Green Lantern Corps, like the Flash, Titans, Teen Titans (less lately...), and more. But I do think overall Marvel is where it's at.

Oh I bought Iron Man and Incredible Hulk yesterday. Both in steelbooks! :-)

Really I only wanted Iron Man in the "Future Shop exclusive" steelbook because it just felt like the right thing to do being Iron Man and all, and didn't realize the Hulk special 3-disc was also in a black steelbook. I knew I wanted that edition of Hulk, didn't know it wasn't plastic. I usually don't buy the steelbooks but I'm glad I did, these are very nice and the other cover for Hulk is TRASH.

Watched Iron Man last night, and Incredible H tonight.
So great. So great.

I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show again and I saw V for Vendetta right after that for the first time with my friends.

RHPS is always good fun, and V was mind blowing. Makes me giddy for Watchmen.

RHPS pisses me off. I don't know why.

Still haven't seen V for Vendetta.

I doubt I'll get the special editions of Iron Man and Incredible Hulk because even though I always WANT the special editions of movies, I don't seem to care after the fact. And I keep all my DVD's in one giant DVD case and keep all the single cases they came in inside of a bookcase at home, anyway.
