I have always been a fan of end of the world movies for some reason. I find them interesting.

Same here, but they're all terrible movies.

Which is okay because they're guilty-pleasure viewings.

Like, The Day After Tomorrow is one of my favorite horrible big-budget movies.

I mean, Jake Gylenhaal gets chased down a #####ing hallway by GLOBAL WARMING in the climax.

A CHASE SCENE WITH GLOBAL WARMING.

AND WOLVES.

Nothing can beat that.

And I still haven't seen The Core or whatever that was but that seems like another candidate for hilariously-bad-disaster-movie.

With my sense of humor, there was no way I wasn't going to love The Day After Tomorrow, billed as a disaster movie about highly fictionalized and exxaggerated global warming.

The problem is that it was meant to be serious.

So, I just watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit? for the first time in who-knows-how-many years.

Totally forgot how awesome that movie was.

My frienemy loves it too much for me to really like it anymore.

The little Roger Rabbit cartoon short from before Honey, I Shrunk The Kids produces so much nostalgia for me. The one where Baby Herman swallows the rattle and then Roger takes him to the hospital, and then he swallows it by accident, etc.

But yeah, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is fantastic if only for being the only place ever where you can find Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny together in the same scene. I like all those "animated cartoons mixed with live acting" movies. Space Jam is awesome.

I haven't seen Looney Tunes: Back in Action, though.

Space Jam, no matter how much I loved it, is NOT awesome. It is actually pretty bad, unless you're a kid or remember it from when you were a kid.

Also, I never really cared for WFRR. No particular reason why, it just never did it for me.

I LOVED Cool World though. Go figure.

Never seen that. After looking it up just now, I think I'd like to.

Anyway, just randomly watched a movie called The Ex. I started watching for a little bit just to see what it was because it had Zach Braff in it. And then suddenly Jason Bateman appeared.

He was playing a total asshole. A handicapped asshole. I loved it.

The movie itself was pretty meh, though.

And I still can't figure out why it was called The Ex. Like... the movie said that Bateman's character had sex with Braff's wife once in high school, but never said they were dating or anything. Basically there was no reason to call it The Ex. Admittedly there isn't really a good title I can think of, maybe just Watch Jason Bateman Act Like A Complete Sociopath Asshole For A While.

And yeah, Cool World is good. I like most Ralph Bakshi stuff. But I hate his Lord Of The Rings like I hate polio (verily).

I saw The Spirit in an advance screening tonight. It was alright. I might have just been tired, I don't know, but I didn't really think it was all that until the second half. It picked up well there. Definitely find Frank Miller to be up his own ass now, though.

Gort was pretty boss, though. The movie would be 90% #####tier if he didn't do what he did.

Not a bad flick at all.
Worth a watch, and it's got a pretty good plot for what it is.

I have now also watched-
Sex and Death 101 (weird, crude, but kind of funny)
Run Fatboy Run (Swell film, predictable ending)
and am currently watching Step Brothers.

We are getting a nor-easter right now.
By tomorrow morning, we will have 16 inches of snow.

Yeah, Run Fatboy Run was, like, balanced on that tiny threshold between good movie and bad movie. Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran were the film's saving grace. I just felt like it couldn't decide whether to be a stupid comedy or a romantic comedy. And I know, it's clearly possible to be both, but if you've seen the movie, you know what I mean. But yeah, I like it.

Step Brothers, I hated in theaters but I still feel like I'll like it more the next time I see it. That happened with Talladega Nights, at least.

I LOVED Anchorman the first time I saw it. And every time after. Love it to death. Still one of my favorites.

I think Anchorman and Zoolander are my two favorite stupid-movies.

Ya know what movie pisses me off already?
The Unborn or Unborn or whatever.
First of all it looks stupid, I saw a long trailer of it awhile back.
It seems to try really hard to be scary but doesn't succeed in anyway, it doesn't even get D minus for effort. The best it can do is people doing crab walks with upside down heads and kids.
Also characterizing unborn and/or miscarried children as evil really pisses me off for personal reasons.

Any movie that relies on gore and gorey violence to be successful will not be.

The horror genre has forgotten suspense and suprise is worth far more than gore.

Right. Like I said, The Spirit wasn't very good.

I've realized I wasn't just tired. The movie was not good. I only know two people who liked it, and one only liked it because he has a boner for Frank Miller and The Spirit.

But that movie didn't know what it was supposed to be. The dialogue that was basically just like The Spirit books totally didn't fit with the OTHER dialogue in the movie. And virtually everyone was lame except The Spirit, The Octopus, and his helper girl. But that's not saying all that much. They should have done it like a Dick Tracy, and not try for that Sin City look that did not work for it.

Just watched Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais.

I really liked it. Like, it was cute, and it had a good sense of humor. Definitely reccomend it.

I really want to see The Curious Case of Benjamen Button.

I saw the preview. Looked interesting, but not so much so that I really wanted to see it.

Recent movies:

Transporter 3 -  Not as good as the other two, but a decent addition to the series. Vaguely annoyed about the "crazy bitch" in the movie poster with the mascara down her face and the guns. In the movie, the girl never even holds a gun and she isn't out to kill Frank. THEY LIED TO ME.

Punisher: War Zone - Holy ##### what an awesome movie. They got everything about it right, and I love this movie to pieces. It only took them three films to get it right. Tons of violence, gore, dark humor...everything the other Punisher films should have had.

The Day the Earth Stood Still - It was okay, a solid three stars. Gort was cool, but in all reality, Fox could've made this a made for TV movie and still be in the same boat. And have saved themselves 70-75 million dollars.

Little known fact; "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is actually a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald that was adapted to a graphic novel by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir and is now adapted to film by David Fincher.

I found the graphic novel at work a week or two ago, so I might read that first/instead.

That's the last movie I'd have thought had some graphic novel roots.
