I think it'd be interesting to grow a mustache, but honestly I much prefer being clean-shaven.

I'm too short to pull off a mustache or beard correctly.

The mustache makes you look almost like a physics professor.

Can't really see facial hair working for you, either.

I promised more pics of my shaven face.

Too bad I'm ugly.

Maybe some later-er.

Oh hey, while I was on vacation, I got sick, and missed a day of work, so my boss didn't schedule me for most of this week.

So now I haven't shaved a few days.

It's what I do, and I have a layer of hair that dances in the light. And that's the only way you can see it. Blond facial hair suuuuuucks.

HAH. My brother tried that couple years ago, he dyed his beard thing and it actually dyed the skin under his beard. He looked like an idiot for a week.

And while blond facial hair is annoying to grow, it'll be worth it, since it'll look great when it's full grown.

Actually, no. It's the same with all kinds of hair, I think.
Like, you know how some old people have really long and ugly ear hair, and some don't? It's most likely because the ones that do had cut their ear hair during their younger days, and it grew more in legth and stength.
...
...Why do I know this?

Yes. It's a common myth with no scientific basis whatsoever.
A beard takes until the mid-to-late 20's to fully mature, and your genetics will dictate which bits you get.

I couldn't grow a proper goatee & stache until recently, since the bits on the side that connect them hadn't grown in yet. It just takes time.

No scientific basis? Seriously?

Because I've definitely noticed that shaving tends to make hairs darker and thicker, and they grow more quickly the more you shave them.

Seriously.
It's just lopping off the dead bits on the end. The follicles themselves only respond to hormones, not the stimuli generated by shaving, as shaving is not a natural process and therefore would not be a bio-trigger from hormonal release.

You notice this because you are still young and your follicles are still developing.

I've got weird skin, apparently.

I've got places where the skin was at one point completely rubbed off where hair grows through the scar tissue.

Because I've definitely noticed that shaving tends to make hairs darker and thicker, and they grow more quickly the more you shave them.

Hair is conic in form. Cut the thin top of a hair and what first grows back is the thicker base.

Secondly not all hairs startet growing at the same time. Shaving brings them down to the same level and when they have grown a bit again it'll look like there's more.

As for blond beards: Eyeliner. Seriously. Used to apply it before my goatee darkened and still use it for stage make-up

The only actual change to the hair shaving does other than making it short (obviously) is making it sharp.

Which is annoying if your hair naturally curls because the combo of sharp and curly hair makes it real easy for hair to cut it's way back under your skin; Ingrown hairs. It's the reason I only use 1 blade when I shave (when using 3 or 4 the shave is way too close to avoid ingrown hairs).

Shaving only in one direction can also condition the hair to grow a certain way (changing the "grain"), which is minor but it helps a lot to keep ingrown hairs away.

I've got weird skin, apparently.

I've got places where the skin was at one point completely rubbed off where hair grows through the scar tissue.

Yeah I have burn scars on my arms and hair grows through, which is interesting because I'd heard hair doesn't grow in scar tissue. These were real down to the white meat burns too, not like "ouchie I burnded myself ooh oh".
