I'm just holding the enter key and watching it build a really creepy skyline.

I honestly don't even know how to play Tetris to begin with. I never read the rules and when I played it that ONE time I had no idea what I was trying to accomplish.

...seriously, Majikn?

I mean... seriously?

It's so unbelievably simple that I've never heard of anyone not knowing the RULES to it.

Tetris is kinda one of those games where you don't really need the rules, yeah.
I'm not good at it, but I did manage to build a 4 block high wall in this about... 10% of the way across before I finally screwed myself over royally. It's a little difficult to judge the distance at the extreme edges of the screen, so you're bound to make holes at some point.

Oh, I've been playing Golden Eye 64... unsuccessfully.
why would you make a controller scheme like that rare

Uh sure. Well hey, I didn't say I didn't understand the rules. Well, the one rule. I just never read it.

I read it just a moment ago and yeah, it's simple. I figured the rule was simple, but that doesn't make any difference if I don't KNOW what it is, right?

The colour-coding thing threw me off. I played Kirby's Avalanche before Tetris. That game was all about having four of the same colour touching so that they explode and create space for more explosions. You could do combo explosions... and yeah. It was colour-coded. This one isn't. With Tetris I was probably trying to arrange lines of all the same colour.

And before you say it, I always assumed the Game Boy adaption of the game used different shades or something.

Oh, and I was really good at GoldenEye 64. So good, that I was bad at any other shooting game.

I suppose really my complaint is that I'm not using the right controller to play the game, but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't discuss why here.

Nonetheless, I'm still digging the music and lasers, but it's getting increasingly hard to find anyone who'll play it with me.

With nifty enough keymapping you can make Goldeneye play like a PS2 shooter on a PS2-esque gamepad (like most of them are these days) under 1.2

Not that I would have any experience with that. This is where we should stop the discussion

ANYWAY.

Been playing through Half-Life 2 recently, getting pretty far... got to the point where Striders start coming into the picture (hate them). Also playing Pokémon Platinum. It's obviously better than the other two versions, and it has some nice additions and all, but obviously it isn't worth spending $35 if you already have Diamond or Pearl.

I'm gonna try getting GTA Chinatown Wars this week too.

Fun. I got the old Game Boy Color version of GTA. Or was it GBA? I can't remember.

It was cool. But also a little bad. I believe it was a port.

Actually, the PSP games were good, thankfully they were ported to the PS2 for those without a PSP (or didn't WANT one).

Of course, the one on the DS looks pretty sweet.

I want to get it. I haven't bought a GTA game since San Andreas (and well there wasn't too many GTA games in between but its been awhile and San Andreas was awesome).

It's like some babies found some tremendously old turnips that fell off the cart ages ago, and there they are gurgling things like "GOLD!" and "MY TURNIP!"

Well, regardless of how mildly interesting and definitely funny the two games are, it's always nice to kick back and play the rope game every now and then.
The other is a good one-time-only deal.

I started playing Eternal Sonata. I'm enjoying this more than the demo, because combat is actually explained in this. But still, damn the Japanese and their 8+ minute cutscenes.

I just finished doing everything there possibly is to do in Resident Evil 5. I certainly don't think the game was revolutionary in any way, and there was a part of me that felt weird about being a white guy in nice, clean clothes running through a village of mud huts while I shot angry black men in grass skirts who's faces where half rotted off, but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be either. Sure the inventory is horrible, and Sheva is about as worthless as they come (especially on Professional difficulty; she's dead weight.) but the game was still fun to play. There's just something really satisfying when you pop a "zombies" head, or putting a bullet square between a lickers frontal lobes.

That being said, having unlocked everything and gotten all trophies, I probably won't be putting this in again for a long while, if ever. I'm not the least bit interested in the DLC multiplayer for this game. All in all, I enjoyed the 60ish hours this lasted.

I got Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time on DS and GTA: Chinatown Wars.

Echoes of Time is a fun dungeon crawler, especially when playing with friends. Square-Enix did a good job with this game, I just kind of wish they stuck with the formula from the first game on GCN, though. However, the Wii and DS interaction is brilliant. It's too bad that most people will probably go with the DS version, though (like I did, lol).

GTA: Chinatown Wars surprised me. The only GTA game that I really put a lot of work in was San Andreas. The only top down GTA game I played was the GBA one, and let me tells ya, Chinatown Wars is a LOT better than that game.

Of course, San Andreas is the better experience, seeing as you walk in the city and such. However, Chinatown Wars is pretty much the full GTA experience, except with an overview look; and it's very fun, IMO. And it's not crappy GBA overview either, everything is 3D and the camera rotates as you turn around and such. The mini map and quick weapon select being on the touch screen is a nice convenience. Even the small, quick "real life" touch screen mini games (such as opening a panel to hi-jack a car) are fun and there's few of them so they don't annoy you too much. And there's a ton of reading to do in this game; like a lot. Not to mention, it focuses a lot more on drugs than any other GTA game (from what I've played, anyway).

Both games are great and I really recommend them both.

Apparently so did Super Punch-Out!, which I liked but never owned as a kid.

I already have Majora's Mask on a Gamecube collection disc, some promo for Wind Waker from back in the day.

I haven't bought a VC game since MegaMan 2. When I'm home I'll check all the new stuff, there's bound to be some goodies I've missed.

And when does Banjo-Tooie come out for XBLA?!

It came out in Japan and is coming here soon.

There's speculation that it might be out this Monday.

I just hope the move onto Virtual Console ends up being better than the terrible GCN port;
