So, the coolest thing about another batch of these same games is that you can create your own character? That normally would at least make me want to rent it, but no dice.

All my friends (and I) are super busy anyway and I live on the other side of the city from them anyhow.

I played some Wild Arms 2 today.

I realized that I am still ridiculously under leveled to take on any special bosses, yet I am also still ridiculously over-leveled in comparison to the final boss.

I really hate grinding, but I really love this game.
Oh, and by the way, we're talking about a gap of "You didn't even hit me" and "I just died in two turns".

Will be making my own MegaMan-style character eventually.

I hope you don't mean the Iron Man game, as it sucked balls. Seriously, I'm pretty sure there was a scene where Tony knelt down and slurped off Rhodey.

Anyway, I just finished the first Kingdom Hearts. I really liked it. I'm aware my questions on the ending will be explained in the second game, and I'm eager to take that one on.

But speaking of ball licking, two things;

One - I'm really pleased that Donald and Goofy eventually became useful. Because I'm not gonna lie, until Donald gets healing magic you're pretty sure that the sounds him and Goofy make in battles is just them sucking each other off while you-Sora does all the work. At first they basically just die all the time and you don't care. And giving them items ever is a waste because they use them all. the. #####ing. time. But they stepped up and got brushed somewhere between Halloweentown and Hollow Bastion with some great.

Two - Why the hell do they bother to shell out 20, 000 experience points for beating the final final final final final final final final boss? I said that eight times because there is basically 8 boss fights in a row with no save points amongst them. 20, 000 exp is, of course, more than enough exp to level everyone at least once or twice.

And it shows you that they leveled. It gives you that little box saying what stuff went up. Actually, it gives you box on top of box on top of boxes they leveled so well. But then, you get your ending video, all epic and changing from play graphics to in-game cutscene graphics to cinematic graphics and it's all lovely. And then your credits, which you watch for the little extras that are like epilogues for minor characters, and then you get a real sort of epilogue for the main three characters. And then I'm all "Nice."

And I wait.

And then... a "The End" screen. Cool. I'm cool with that. It looks nice even though it's just the boxart. Yep. OK. Press X. Nope? O? ... Sq-square? Tri...angle... Start! Start is the key, of cour-No? What?! An ENDLESS end screen? I can't save? Why the ##### can't I save?!

Some people call that an exaggeration, and others like pickles, but the point is that that is very weird. Very very weird. I just don't get it. I kind of want like, a little crown next to my save file there, or something. Something. And I want those levels, because while the final 8 boss fights weren't all hard-one of them kicked my ass around for like nearly an hour.

One of the final boss fights in KH really kicked my ass as well... I think it was the second or third one, not sure. I just wasn't dodging right I think.

And I do think its stupid that you get leveled up in a fight that you can't save afterward.

The same thing happens in the second one, except the Japanese version I think...

I love how the Overworld theme from Zelda is second place in the GHTunes Top Rated Songs thing, and Green Greens from Kirby is fourth place.

The "third" one for me. Although it might as well be the second one. You brutalize Ansem the first time on the beach, then fight that giant Heartless thing for the umpteenth time (EASY 30 second boss), and then Ansem again but you're completely alone and he's way stronger and way more annoying because he'll do things that basically cheap you into death, since they're not all THAT strong but can often hit you in multiples.

So even if you have that "Second chance" or whatever ability it is that gives you a bit of HP left when hit with something that would've killed you, he'll just knock you again before you can heal at all. So that took me a while, but after that I had no real difficulties.

So much Rock Band 2.

And we only have ONE guitar controller. The one from GH3. No other instruments. My parents were supposed to bring up the other instruments today, but they forgot. So now I have to wait 'till next Sunday. I'm just lucky they're coming up again so soon.

I didn't even know about that until right now. Looks lame.

So yeah, just wanna' say, Rock Band has so much DLC for "The Who" that I'm bursting with happiness. I blew most of my Microsoft Points card on their songs.

I can't WAIT to get the drumset up here and play The Who songs with it. Seriously rad drumset licks in all their songs. Keith Moon is a #####ing legend.

Plus I know all the words to most of their songs so I'd actually ENJOY doing the vocals for them.

It drives me INSANE that The Beatles and Led Zeppelin won't let anyone use any of their music.

I mean, you have NO idea how much more fun Rock Band and Guitar Hero would be with ANY of their tracks. ANY of them. JUST ONE.

IMMIGRANT SONG?
HELTER SKELTER?

GRAAAAAAAAAH.

I was talking about this earlier today with my friends.

A lot of the factors that led me to get RB2 over GHWT had to do with all of the lovin' from The Who and AC/DC.

Plus, the first Rock Band's track list was absolute perfection and is still my favorite track list out of all these types of games, so I still wanted to play all of those songs. And I still can, since I exported them into Rock Band 2.

Linkin Park was just a perk, and I'm hoping they'll get some DLC somewhere along the line. You have no idea how fun rap sequences would be with the microphone. Figures they'd pick "One Step Closer" which has no rap in it.

SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!

(Sometimes a friend of mine and I just yell or text that line to each other randomly for no good reason.)

Anyway it's lame there's no Beatles or Zeppelin. Money-wise they'd actually make an astonishingly larger amount of scrill off of video game licensing than album sales. It's actually ridiculous. There's a reason Aerosmith did a whole game for themselves, and they get paid so absurdly for it they might as well be MLB players.

The thing with The Beatles and Led Zeppelin is that they won't even let Apple sell their music on iTunes.

I think I read something about iTunes maybe getting some of them up for sale but I can't remember and don't feel like checking.

I do remember Jack Black making a HUGE deal about convincing Led Zeppelin to let him use Immigrant Song in "School of Rock." It's in the special features. He basically got on stage during a Zeppelin concert or something and got the whole audience to beg with him.

Hahah, my friends downloaded the Red Hot Chili Peppers song "They're Red Hot."

If I had to quote anybody on that song's Expert difficulty in this game, it would be how my friend Jon described it, "This song is basically ass rape for 30 loooooong seconds."

I got 78% with Bass on expert... but it was on "No Fail" mode so we couldn't lose. And bass is always the easiest anyway.

But I also tried the drums.

Ooooooh #####, I wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah, no Guitar Hero: The Beatles.

That would be pure heaven. But it's never going to happen.

'No More Guitar Heroes' would be even more awesome.

Annnnnnnd...
I'm busy with MGS3 disc 2.

I don't have the patience to finish Metal Gear.
I'd like to finish it. But I'm just not really into the classic versions of games I love in their present form. I'm used to the way I was introduced to them first. I've beaten NES games (in this situation it's actually an MSX2 game) and I respect them as games. I love how 8-bit games look, I love 8-bit music as much as I love orchestrated symphonies, and hardcore guitar solos. It's just they're all from before my time and sometimes it's a bit frustrating to play a game that can't always point me in the right direction once in awhile. I'm not a baby who needs my hand held through everything, but I like some hints as what to do next. Classic 8-bit games are most excellent, but I just prefer games with a bit more.
My first videogame related experience was really with an SNES. The first console I ever owned was the N64, and that's what really got me into gaming. So a lot of the time playing real classics feels a bit awkward. It makes me feel like less of a gamer to admit all this.

Anyboo, yeah, I'm just trying to earn all the extra crap in MGS3.
I just feel like going all completest on it.
Speaking of which, I earned the Monkey Mask on disc 2.
Does anyone know how I actually access it on disc 1?
Do I have to start a new game? Beat the game again?
I honestly don't know.
Anyway, yeah, Special Duel mode is pretty fun.
So I'm sure disc 2 as well as going back to disc 1 a bit will keep me busy until the 16th.

I feel this urge deep inside of me to get the new Guitar Hero.

What should I trade in out of these?
Smash Bros. Brawl. $25
Twilight Princess. $15
GH3 $12
DS $20
MarioKart DS. $15

It's the one with least replay value.

It's my only DS game....

I'm REALLY on the fence about Brawl though, I never play it, and it's right now worth half of GH:WT.

I have over 200 hours of play on GH3. I have about 50 on Brawl. I'll have at least 100 on WT by the time I get rid of it.
I only play Brawl at parties any more, and that's only AFTER everyone is really tired of Rock band.

Right now I'll need someone to give me a real good reason to keep it.

All I need is $50.

Well, don't sell GH3 because that's still more tracks to play. Unless you can export them into World Tour.

I just realized that I have the option now of selling the original Rock Band since I don't NEED it anymore, since all the tracks have been exported off of it and work on "any future installments."

I don't see what's fun or hard or remotely interesting about playing The Beatles' music.

GH Metallica had better have a better selection than the Aerosmith one.

The Beatles are a huge part of my life, I grew up listening to them, The Beach Boys, and The Rolling Stones since my parents gave me some of their CD's as a kid. So, in the case of The Beatles, it's really just the fact that they have such a vast library of quality songs, and such a diverse variety of them over the years, too. It's really just... I mean... man, it's THE BEATLES.

And was the GH Aerosmith track list really not good? I love Aerosmith and almost got that.
Metallica, on the other hand... well, I have what I believe is at least 60% of their discography on my computer left over from when someone ported over their entire music collection to my computer years ago, but I NEVER listen to them. Apparently they're not my cup of tea, but I can't figure out why.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith was a piece of crap.
Not many songs, only about 40% Aerosmith, and the non Aerosmith sings tended to be weak.

Just not worth the money really.

Concerning the Beatles game, I'd only play it if you can do the sitar parts...And you doing the string octet from Eleanor Rigby would be great too.
