I could've sworn I posted here saying I hated Sonic's voice in Sonic Unleashed but the demo gameplay was alright.

WOOO! ... ugh.

Yeah, the demo convinced me to rent the game.

I'll comment on how bad the werehog parts are afterwards.

I'm sure it's better than Sonic 06.

Also, Gamespot gave it a pretty positive rating. (well.....for the Wii version at least......)

Take a look:

What I read about it:

The Sonic parts were awesome, but they're so fast that they're over so quickly... and then you have to do the slow, annoying Werehog parts.

Basically, major pacing issues.

Put me off completely.

The Sonic parts feel like Sonic Adventure 1 at some points. Which is a good thing.

I don't even want to TRY the werehog crap. Why couldn't Sega just focus on the damn things they did in the demo and NOT add some retarded gimmick to ruin it?

Did you know the prefix were- actually means man?
So Sonic Unleashed makes no #####ing sense, or less than it did before.
Whatever, it sucks, so I don't care.

Or a Hedgewolf.

Hogwolf sounds the best, oddly. But totally doesn't fit with Sonic, since it brings pigs to mind more than hedgehogs.

Hedgewolf makes the most sense, too, considering the appearance of the creature in question, and why it was named a hedgehog in the first place.

Sano stated exactly what I was thinking when I read "werehog", but I thought I'd be a little bitch to make anything of it. They probably just wanted to use the "were" part because of its common association in this age with the idea of turning into something; werewolves and werebears, for example. That doesn't make it RIGHT, it just means that it appeals to the majority who are ignorant of the proper meaning of it.

I'm pretty sure everyone who heard the word "werehog" way back when it was first revealed had the same thought: "Aaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhh."

It definitely gives off that sort of vibe. It has a very unique way of storytelling where there are no cutscenes, but everything happens around you while you're still in first-person. Since it's all happening in real-time, it gives you a greater sense of urgency and danger.

I've still never beaten it. I just get distracted. I started over again not too long ago, but then Banjo-Kazooie: N&B came out.

It didn't help when the girl was like "Look! ... Zombies!" and then didn't really do anything about them until I went close (which was after I killed a bunch of them by thowing wood panels and explosive barrels their way).

And yeah, the whole time she's talking to people on the computer I just kept strafing looking at the doors and then looking out through the window waiting for a bunch of zombies to come into the bunker thing.

If I had like, a second player or something more responsive manning the gun I'd feel better.

You can use a Wii Remote on anything on the computer, you just need a bluetooth thinger and the program.

You also need infra-red LEDs or whatever, to go on top of the monitor if you want to do the pointing thing. I've looked into it.

I'm still certain it would need to be patched for the crosshair to follow where the Wii remote points and the user to still be able to move around normally.

I started playing Legendary today. I don't think the game is nearly as bad as the reviews made it out to be (then again, I just completed the second chapter). It feels like old-school Wolfenstein 3D or Doom with today's graphics.

I recently downloaded and have been playing Donkey Kong Country 3.

It's worse than I remembered. Still fun, but not as good as my childhood memories could recall.

It was great replaying stages I remembered, like the one where you had to run while lightning would try to strike you. The moment I replayed the stage, I was yelling "IHATEDTHISLEVELIHATEDTHISLEVE LIHATEDTHISLEVEL" and it made it all the more entertaining. Everything else seemed new since I had forgotten most of it while DKC and DKC2 I replayed like mad when I was young.

Also, Bleak was a very disappointing boss battle.

Right. It's still fun, thus I'm still playing and I don't feel ripped from my $8. I'm just saying it's a bit more inferior than I realized compared to the first two.

Also, the level with the giant saw in the trees gave me nightmares as a child as well.

Recently I've been frequenting God Hand, Left 4 Dead, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and Guitar Hero 3.
I've got the Penta-wielding feat.
Juggling games is a bad habit of mine.
I've pretty much forgotten City Folk, kind of sad, I only played it habitually for about 3 months.

Now that my laptop can finally achieve playable framerates in C&C3, I've been playing through the GDI campaign and enjoying every minute of it. I've always loved the series' over-the-top FMV cutscenes and ridiculous storylines.

So it's like Windows 7 is what Vista should have been.
They were released in reverse order.
It's funny too, Windows 7 has lower system reqs then Vista from what I've seen.

Yes, Windows 7 is grand. Even though I shouldn't, I've been using it as my main OS on my laptop.

Anyway, been playing Fallout 3 the past two weeks. Very awesome game, but it was a rental so eventually I had to return it. Thinking of buying it, though.

I also finally got Phantasy Star Zero for the DS (finally because of the whole package thing I vaguely talked about in the How Was Your Day thread).

Much, MUUUUUCH better than PSU. I think I'm even liking it a little more than PSO, too.

The only console games I allow myself to play are demos, because I can just say "I'll play a demo and then get back to work" and it usually works out that that takes less than 20 minutes.

I really only use my 360 for DVDs right now. Which is expected.

It's really overwhelming but I'm getting the hang of it. I'm borrowing it from a friend, and this is the first time I've touched my DS in... oh, at least a few months.

I might even buy this for myself if it doesn't get old really quick. It's really fun to mess with. And it's fully functional as a synth if hooked up to an amp, which is awesome, if useless to me.
