Finished inFamous a few days ago. I was skeptical when I first saw it, but playing the demo changed my mind.
The game itself was pretty good. Not genre defining in any way, but the climbing mechanic was solid, and the game itself was pretty damn fun. Hitting someone with a sticky electrical grenade and watching them run and flail wildly before exploding was amusing EVERY time. The good vs. evil decisions were as black and white as they ever are, and didn't change the story too terribly much, but made a pretty big difference in the way the game played. Good actions gave you moves that focused on accuracy and restoring your health, while evil actions gave you attacks that cause massive amounts of collateral damage, while not necessarily sacrificing accuracy. Even more amazing was that neither path felt advantageous over the other. It was amazingly balanced, even if being evil was more fun in the long run.
The story was pretty decent. There wasn't anything terribly revolutionary about it, but that makes sense, as it almost seemed like an homage to the comic books that inspired its style. I'd say the pacing seemed wanting, but that was entirely my own fault as I'm easily distracted by side missions, especially when they help you power up. The ending wasn't terribly shocking (pun intended) but it left me wanting the sequel that will obviously be coming.

No more pencils, No more books I built a city out' one brick, it had a Mayor and a Crook I made the Crook stab the Mayor, then slay himself in the guilt I stole the brick back and migrated east, now let's build.

That's good to hear Edge. I wanted to try the game but I don't have a PS3 and there aren't any games I want on it enough to get one, but all I saw about the game was ads and it looked pretty bland but I was into the concept. Anyway... I am extremely #####ing in like with Mass Effect! Like... It's really cool. The amount of work that seemed to go into it is pretty impressive. It's real addictive too. I just wish paragon dialogue had more character. Saying something is the best FPS ever is like saying this turd is better than this turd. Well no, not that extreme. I'm not a big fan of the genre but I like some of them. Still I have to say this; "Dude, Half-Life 2 is the best F###### Piece of S### ever."
I actually have nothing against HL2, it's just the thought I had.
Dude, do you have to down everything always? That's seriously all you do lately.
Uh, no it isn't. I defy that. Actually, I haven't been downing much at all lately, because I've only been talking about good stuff. I was just making a point about my view on the genre, which everyone else seemed to get. If you actually read my post, you'd know I have nothing against Half-Life 2 and I'm sure it's as good as you say. I've said before that I played the demo and I found it to be pretty interesting but it's not my thing. Get a grip.

It was a'ight. Almost 500 gamerscore from it, but it just got kind of annoying, you can almost NEVER snipe, and the enemies crawl out of the cracks. I found myself only really using the Incendiary Plasmid for the whole game. Posted on: June 10, 2009, 09:59:46 PM
Also, gonna take a shower in like 20 minutes. And I've played Mass Effect, it's decent. It's cheap to buy too, so I think I might do that.
