Buster Busts Loose is one of my favorite memories from playing SNES as a kid aside from Donkey Kong Country 2 and Kirby's Dreamland 3. It's a great game, not just the nostalgia goggles. The bosses are all creative and fun, the second level (Wild West and runaway train) is SO AWESOME! And the football level? WHAT KIND OF GENIUS FIGURED OUT A WAY TO MAKE FOOTBALL WORK IN A 2D PLATFORMER? Amazing!

So I'm pretty happy. I traded in a bunch of games I'll never play again at EB Games, and got a lot more than I expected. Three of the games I actually got 25 dollars for, which was a surprisingly good deal I think. Though I laughed that I got 2.25 for MegaMan X7. They have like five more copies of the game on the shelf for 19.99, and I almost feel bad for taking any money at all for it.

I traded them in for:
Brutal Legend
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Rayman 3 (I really wanted Rayman 2 but settled for that instead)
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Five dollars on Mass Effect 2

I paid 10.90 for all that.

I also recently got Operation: Anchorage for Fallout 3 and as I said before that I was going to do, I'm replaying Mass Effect in anticipation of the next game. Not over-anticipation, mind you, I just want a more properly-prepared character.

If they update the character creator in ME2 I hope they atleast let you modify your ME1 character; my guy needs a new hair cut.

I really shouldn't be getting more games after spending like 70 on the Steam sale, but ME2 is comming up and omg, I got Dragon Age for 37 dollars and Jade Empire for 3 and I"m on a Bioware rage now. Fortunately the 70 dollars got me around 17 games so I'm pretty sure I can wait for ME2 to get cheaper. (if it ever goes on steam I hope it goes down to 37 dollars on a sale like Dragon Age did only a month later)

I think DA had a discount because of the Steam Holiday sale.

So I finally got an A-Rank on every stage on Sonic Adventure 2: Battle... including on Green Hill!

Was it worth it? Hells no. But at least I did it. This game has randomly bugged me for the last eight years and I considered it to be my video game biggest challenge that I could overcome. And it's lived up to the game I gave it.

Well, I just beat Megaman 9. I feel extremely satisfied. Think I'll take a break from it for a few days and then start my Protoman play-through.

Oh, and in Dragon Age, I'm in the temple looking for the Urn of Ashes.

Well, that actually seems possible. The extent of the changes you'd be able to make might be limited to hair and adding scars.

Proto Man is great besides the fact he only shoots twice when Mega Man shoots three shots at a time.

Not to mention the damage bit. If you're constantly taking damage in MM9 you might need practice.

I think it's the switching styles bit that's bugging me.
Like, I rarely used the slide and charge in the old games, but in 9, it seems like it's forcing me to do so to make up for the increased damage.

Anywho, my cousin is letting me borrow Deus Ex because apparently I'm not a real gamer if I haven't played "the slice of sheer awesomeness that is Deus Ex."

I also ended beating Half-Life for the first time after playing it off and on for the last few months. Now at least I have an excuse to get the Orange Box.

I got Dark Void Zero on DSiWare today.

#####ing amazing. It's like MegaMan meets Metroid meets Contra. Great 8-bit tunes, tough, and fun. Only $5 too!

The loading screen is the best. It's a picture of the "original" NES cart and you have to blow the dust off of the bottom in order to start the game. :>

So far I haven't found anything for DSiWare that I think is really worth the money. I spent my free 1000 and that's it. And even then I wish I spent it on something else. Dr. Mario Express might've been a good idea—that is, if it was still free for me to get.

About Mass Effect 2: Yes you can change your appearance entirely. And you can choose a different class, apparently. This surprised me but I'm glad it's like that.

Playing TvC, got the game and the fight stick as well (135$ total), same feel as if am playing on the arcade, other than that, I have to figure out how the heck am going to unlock Zero. Other then that, they changed the music a little, its a little more...futuristic we can say, unlock gallery stuff, costume colors, movies, all of em' by buying with zennies.
You unlock Zero by beating the Final Boss with 6 Capcom Characters.

You unlock Frank West by doing that just 3 times.

Tekkaman Blade is unlocked by beating the Final Boss with 3 Tatsunoko Characters.

And Joe the Condor is unlocked by beating it with 6 Tatsu characters.

And finally, Yatterman-2 is unlocked by beating it with the newly unlocked characters (Frank, Zero, Tekkaman Blade, Joe the Condor)
Omg YOUR Shepard? Mine has eyeliner.

Or it sort of looks like it sometimes. All I ended up doing to his appearance was change his facial hair. And eye colour, for the hell of it. I had to redo his custom appearance 'cause there wasn't a "I just wanna make minor changes" option.

Yeah when I figured that out I decided to leave his appearance to same, though it would make sense to have the option to modify your ME1 shepard since the creator is universal and all.

The DLC armors you get are good but I wish there was an option to toggle helmets or a dedicated equipment menu. Thats the reason I decided to use the default armor since you can actually see your face with that.

That actually is kind of funny.

I found out I could customize the N7 colours shortly after I got myself the Collector armor, which isn't customizable. lol

Visual appeal is up 100%, and characters are a lot more interesting, and I've laughed out loud several times so far at dialogue, even some random conversations. I don't want to reveal anything at all, you have to experience it yourself.

I just finsihed Mass Effect 2. Holy #####.
The only person that ended up dying on my mission was Zaeed, I have no clue how that happened. Atleast this gives me a reason to replay this save later. I ended up finishing the game in 60 hours with all the side quests and star clusters explored. A lot of the hours were spent exploring every crevice of the game; I just wish the game was longer, but fortunately there's a lot of decisions and stuff I haven't tried out yet. I'm also curious as to what happens if you don't buy all the Normandy upgrades and omigosh so much more to do.
Now I'm on to using my renegade femshepard from ME1. I ended up skipping the side quests after my first playthrough on ME1 because of the repetitiveness, but in ME2 the missions are much more varied and different enough for me to replay them again; with some of them on par with the quality of the storyline missions.

GLAD I TOOK ASTRONOMY THIS SEMESTER

I got all of the online achievements for Facebreaker, Madden 07, and NBA Street: Homecourt. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get all of the online achievements for NBA Live 07 and NCAA March Madness 07, and any of the online achievements for UEFA Champions League 06-07. OH WELL.

For some reason, the Facebreak servers haven't been turned off...I'm assuming that it's because it isn't a yearly game (like NBA Live 07), and there are enough people still playing it at this current time to keep it going. Or I'm completely wrong and they'll turn off the servers while I'm away at work.

BACK TO MASS EFFECT 2.

Been playing Bayonetta.
Normal mode is like impossible mode.
Every time you BARELY make it out of a scrape with a bunch of enemies, they throw you into a friggin boss fight or against new enemies you've never faced before and they spank you to death.

It. Is. Hard.

I've gone back and replayed the first 3 levels a few times just to get enough Halos to purchase more health, health items, and some badass techniques.

I can now turn into a panther and it's much more fun to redo levels now.

Posted on: February 02, 2010, 08:16:48 PM

Beat Bayonetta.

That game cuts you zero slack.
Very fast paced and VERY fun.

Super Mario 64 DS

I'm sorry it crashes with your fancy modern Bayonettas, Mass Effects and Space Hamsters, but I've got nothing else. My Wii suddenly stopped reading games just when I was about to beat No More Heroes 2. BTW, I reccomend that game to every single Wii owner. If the first one was a must-play, this one is a will-play-or-else.

Back to Super Mario 64 DS, I just now realized how pretty and fun this game is. Yes, 6 years later. But every time I pick it up and decide to replay it (when I've got no other games, really), I realize it's a great game. Of course, when I catch up with Professor Layton 2, Mario and Luigi 3 and Ace Attorney Investigations (this tuesday! yaaaay), I'll forget about it. But it'll always have a place in my heart... Even if I only remember that place exists when I have no alternative.

Also, it's hardly a game, but Flipnote Studio. This + Slugkid + Flipnote Hatena = Fun times.

I've also been playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Finally, a worthy fighter for the Wii. Without counting Brawl, since I don't really consider it a fighter, per se. It's more of a "fighting platformer", really.

Also, an overheard marvel: "The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces" for Wii. It's kinda like Ace Combat Wii, but without modern airplanes, therefore, no missiles. Just plain ol' guns.
I don't know of any other Wii flight simulators, so I won't say that this one is the best. But it probably is. This game is beautiful. Gameplay doesn't force motion control as much as I thought, fortunately. And some of the soundtrack is very enjoyable. Just one thing: If you're going to buy it for the online, you're wasting your money.

Earlier this week, I realized that I had played  and beaten every one of my games in my collection at least twice. So I went out and got DBZ Budokai 2 and MMXCM.

MMXCM is definitely better than I intended. It's one of better RPGs I've played in a loooooong time. Not counting Pokémon anyway. I'm having trouble with Dr. Psyche, but I'll manage.

DBZB2 is certainly a let down. Everyone basically has the same moveset which sucks. Playing through the Dragon World campaign multiple times to get all the good stuff is a huge pain in the ass.

On the plus side, Gotenks is the most fun like I predicted. Too bad no one else is fun.
