For $30, you'll DEFINITELY not be disappointed. Doubly so once the good mods come out.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. Not nearly as bad as you'd expect, but it's a Gears of War clone that isn't particularly difficult.

Played Skyrim for 7 hours today.
Holy cow.
The game is beautiful and FUN. It fixes everything I hated about Oblivion and Shouts are a blast.

It is my crack.

Wish I was playing Zelda, though.

Also, I'm level 9 in Skyrim and have over 8000 gold. It's swell.

There's a big Sega sale on PSN and XBLA this week. If you have a 360, get Outrun Live Arcade for 400 points before it disappears off XBLA in December FOREVER.

Skyrim.
Level 18.
35 hours.
Had the game 8 days now.
Over 30,000 gold and 10+ dragon kills.
Beat the Mage College quests.
Got the +30 to all Amulet from sidequesting.
Side quests all over the place. Worth it.
I have been to Morthal, Whiterun, Windhelm, Winterhold, and JUST got to Riften.
Gotta find that dude for the chick from river wood about the dragons.

Addicting.

I beat all the Mage College quests as well, I think I'm level 25... Either way, this game is ridiculously addicting... doing the Thieves' Guild questline now. Fun, except for the fact that I messed up one tiny thing during a quest and the guy had to chew me out for it and NOT pay me my cut for it. #####ing asshole.

But aside from that its been great.

Playing Super Mario 3D Land.  I like it quite a bit.  It's definitely a mix between 3 and 64, but works.  The game is pretty easy so far, but I've heard it picks up after world 8.  The levels are short and sweet and have a few tricky areas, though the movement in a 3D space is STILL causing unnecessary deaths (as they always have since platformers went from 2D to 3D).  I'm digging it.

Also playing Skyward Sword.  I think it's probably the best 3D Zelda, but it still has a TON of little issues that bug me.  I don't have any major problems with it though, it's literally just a lot of little ones, but they all add up to detract from what could have been pure magic.  I'm in the desert facility right now and about 24 hours of game time under my belt so I think I can safely say I've seen what the game has to offer.

Not a bad effort for the end of the year from Nintendo.  Now if we could just get a non FPS or battered woman fantasy Metroid game and a new rail shooter Starfox and F-Zero and we'd be set.

I'm playing the same games as you, Rez, and I think the only thing I don't like about SS so far is that Skyloft is boring.  Love everything else.

Can't believe how well 3D Land has blended the elements of 2D and 3D Mario, but now I want 3D World!!

I'm playing Skyward Sword too, and I only just got a 3DS now because of the Zelda limited edition bundle.

How can I not admit that I love this game?
Then again, though, I'm now at the part where I have to return to the three different areas I've been to so far. I hope this is not as bad as I expect.

The only gripe from me is, coming out of Dark Souls with a seamless world, the loading transition that occurred when I first jumped off of Skyloft made me frown a bit. But that's not really a big deal is it? It's just that... it was played up to be such an exhilarating thing but it's not. It gets better once you're actually traveling the overworld, though.

I'm pretty happy and even if this game doesn't end up being everything I hoped, it's clearly got so much going for it and with the direction Nintendo's been going in I can only continue to have great expectations for what future consoles and the 3DS could do for new Zelda titles.

Skyward Sword topped Wind Waker as my favorite Zelda. (Ocarina still has the biggest place in my heart... and I think it's the best. I just always preferred Wind Waker.) That being said, we'll see how I feel in a few years when my opinions have had time to settle.

Revisiting the areas in Skyward Sword was awesome - they totally eschewed the whole stigma involved with doing that sort of thing and instead it made the whole game that much more memorable and engaging.

I'll catch up to you guys with Skyward Sword later in the year (I want a break from some games right now), but I wanted to mention that.

Metroid Fusion is a really great game. I haven't played it since it first came out and my copy has long since disappeared so I'm really looking forward to giving it another shot on the 3DS. For now, though... I'm replaying Wario Land 4. That's another lost gem.

Mario VS Donkey Kong really surprised me, too. I didn't realize it was a spiritual sequel to the old Game Boy Donkey Kong game. The graphical style is really awkward, but the gameplay is solid.

Well I beat Metroid Fusion.  It wasn't too hard, but some of the bosses were frustrating (##### YOU NIGHTMARE!  AND ##### YOU TOO YAKUZA!)  My interest in Metroid has been re-ignited.  I think I'll play the original Metroid and Return of Samus followed by the Prime games.

That's actually interesting about Mario VS Donkey Kong. I saw Mario VS Donkey Kong 2 and the gameplay is different from the first, yet I assumed it was probably the same, and unlike the Game Boy Donkey Kong.

So... Mario Kart 7 anyone? At over 2000 coins I've finally unlocked a kart that really suits my playstyle. It's amazing how drastic the difference in my skill level went when the stats on the kart I changed from are apparently only slightly different, and in 150CC I'm starting to get 3 star rankings all across the board.

My win rate against Chaos is 27.5% but I suspect that may change more in my favour soon. I am somehow rubbing my hands as I type this.

I'm playing Skyrim, Sonic Generations, Super Meat Boy, Psychonauts, Bulletstorm, Cave Story+, and a cool free indie racing game called Nitronic Rush.

I didn't finish Darksiders, nor Dirt 3, nor VVVVVV, and DC Universe Online is on hold.

Damned Steam Holiday Sales.

I've also been getting lots of Coal in my Steam Stocking.

If anybody wants to trade for %50 off Oddworld: Abe's Exodus (making it like 32 cents) or a %50 off all Valve games coupon, even for coal, I'm cool with that.

That's %50 off Left 4 Dead 2 and Counterstrike stuff.

John, we can do some Steam trade stuffarooni. I'm heavy into this Christmas sale thing, and I've got a bunch of prizes and coupons, too. Won Rock of Ages for free and that game turned out to be awesome. Also won Borderlands, but I already had it... so I'll trade that with somebody unless I give it to a friend for free.

Can't play any of the games I bought (Skyrim, Saint's Row 3) until I get back from vacation and thus regain access of my Superlaptop.

I just wanna do a trade for the achievey thing.

I also need to cook and eat both a squirrel and a bird with pyrokinesis for that achieve thing, but it's night time in game, therefor no pigeons. I'm stuck in the guard's/milkman's head right now, too. Blah. Fun game though.

I forgot to mention that SOME time ago, not long after posting that Saints Row: The Third was great, I 100%'d it. And I don't mean the 100% counter the game has, as it doesn't count ambient challenges or achievements (only missions and activities); I literally did everything there is to do in the game, to the point I can't do anything but drive around causing mayhem and jumping off high stuff to no end.

It's not like I'm bragging, it's not hard to do in that game. I'm just simultaneously a bit chuffed and sad that it's FULLY complete.

Definitely felt shorter than Saints Row 2.

I'm excited to play Saint's Row 3, but for some reason I'm saving it. I tried a bit of Skyrim (so goddamn BIG, it's intimidating... but interesting so far) and DiRT 3 (holy hell this game is awesome) and I think it might be time to boot up Saint's Row.

Some other cheap games I splurged for on the sale were stuff like Fallout 3 and Assassin's Creed, basically just a bunch of older games I'd skipped out on. I'm set for a long time here.

DiRT  is pretty good, but gets boring after less than 10 hours.

Skyrim has 90 hours of my life so far, no regrets.

Just started Bulletstorm, pretty fun. silly.

I expect to finish my games by about April. I have tooooo much to play.

I actually sent Nintendo a pretty large rant about Skyward Sword via Club Nintendo's survey thing. I was a little overly negative towards the game, sort of like "Okay, that was pretty good, but you can do a lot better."

Yeah, there's three Gundam DW games, they released a Fist of the North Star one last year, and there's going to be a One Piece DW coming out eventually.

And if that didn't blow your mind enough, there's also going to be Nobunaga's Ambition x Pokemon.

Currently, I'm playing several Zelda games. Mostly Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.

I like how Twilight Princess sort of captures the essence of exploration like the original NES game did. There isn't that many side-quests, so most of the "replay value" comes from exploring Hyrule field, finding different caves, or finding other things around the map, rather than doing side-quests for different NPC's.

Sure, it's not the best Zelda game (definitely not as good as Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time, which are my favorites) but I still think it's a great game despite it's shortcomings (like the brain-numbingly simple bosses).

Been playing Skyrim since 11/11, with a lot of breaks in late November/early December so I could pass my classes.  :p  I am the Guildmaster of the Thieves' Guild!  Feel like I'm getting close to finishing the main quest, too, but not sure.  Also part of the Dark Brotherhood, and I've done a few things for the College of Winterhold.  Still need to join the Bards' College and the Companions!  I think I'm around level 30 or so, I forget.

Just got a Wii Fit Plus yesterday (since we got a Wii for Christmas!  Finally!!), so I think I'll be entertaining myself with that for a good while.  It turns out I have been standing improperly for my entire life.  No wonder my feet hurt so much!  XD  Hopefully this will help me correct my bad habits.  :)

I got 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors for the DS for Christmas, and basically did absolutely nothing but play that game for three days straight starting on Christmas Day, beat it multiple times, got all of the endings + the final ending.   Been a while since I got quite so absorbed by a game like that!

Good stuff huh?  One of the best DS games hands down!  I loved it.  The squeal for it is coming out on both Vita and 3DS, but sadly Aksys has announced they have no current plans to localize it.  I had an even bigger aneurism than when I found out we'd never get Ace Attorney Investigations 2.

Been playing Mirror's Edge finally, a friend gave it to me. I like it even though it's exactly what people said when it first came out. I just wish you could explore more, since combat isn't at all the fun part and sometimes I like to go fast and jump around in a non-linear fashion, but the game really only lets you go where you're "supposed" to go.

I'm trying very hard to finish Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights, but my god it's difficult to keep slogging though it.  I've gotten pretty fed up with the game.  I like the art, the voice acting, the setting and characters, but the gameplay itself is terrible in so many places.

But I'm going to finish it before I start up Resident Evil Revelations and the inevitable disappointment it will bring.

I've been playing just a smidgeon of Battlefield 3.

Check out my soldier:
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/Johncarllos/stats/330154970/

Also, kills are not all that matter in Battlefield. I love play support roles, either offering health and reviving team mates (for mad points, yo), spotting vehicles for homing rockets, or giving ammo and suppressing with mortars.

With good team work, the game never gets boring.

When everyone is trying to be a 1337 sniper, we get steamrolled.
