So I started playing a little Minecraft. Eh.

I played and beat Dishonored. Definitely not a $60 title, but worth maybe 25-30.

Dishonored is a game that is better for having achievements, because they force you to experience the game in new and cool ways. Playing on PC felt kind of boring and repetitive without those fun little side thingers to do.

So I just finished Virtue's Last Reward this morning.

Just... damn. Amazing game, aside from some issues (Don't save in escape sequences, there's some strange save corruption bug involving that.)

I'm trying to finish Shifting World on 3DS before I start Adventure Time.

I've been playing a lot of APB: Reloaded on Steam and I suggest it anyone who likes madly competitive games, sandbox games, and third-person shooters. It's like... You can pick from Criminals (which are basically anarchists) and Enforcers (citizen police force) in a city called San Paro and you do missions against each other. It's got more customization than any Saint's Row or GTA game and it's almost 100% skill-based, instead of "who's got the better gear".

It's free to play, with optional premium accounts you gotta pay for. If anyone wants to try it out lemme know and we can ride together, I have a crim and an enf but mostly I play with the Enforcer character.

Ah, the Adventure Time game is pretty fun. I'm not done yet but it looks like I'm flying through it pretty quickly. Love the title screen music.

Oh, and Zero Mission is my favorite Metroid game. I should replay that.

Just finished the Walking Dead Telltale games. Fantastic. More like interactive Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books than point-and-click games, but fantastic for exactly that reason. If you play the first episode and like it, you'll be on board for the whole trip.

I've gotten both humble bundles, Dark souls, and a small assortment of games recommended or gifted to me throughout the season.

So I'm still playing darksouls. Amazing game. Plenty of 'feels.'  One of those feels being RAGE.

Nintendo Land is insane fun, especially with friends. Managed to get a Star on each Attraction but damn, there's still a ton more content to go through.

I want to try the Metroid attraction, but I don't have f'ing Wii Motion+ controllers.  Otherwise I think Nintendo Land is mad fun.  Minor gripes like more maps for Luigi's Mansion and some tweeking to Mario Chase, but the rest are pretty cool.

If you play Luigi's Mansion a certain amount of time, it unlocks two more maps (one of which is extremely similar to the second one, unfortunately.) That's by far my favorite game on there. Such a blast to play with a group.

Still playing Borderlands 2. Halo 4 sits there on my shelf, unloved. I feel slightly bad.

Also addicted to Dust: An Elysian Tail.

This game is a 10 out of 5 in every avenue.

The sad part is I see it for about 5 bucks when it shows up.  It's one of the top NDS games and it goes for next to nothing.  Maybe it's the fact it has EA on the cover.  I could see where people would think it's a POS when they see that, but it's worthy of the Electronic Arts of old back in the early/mid 80s when they weren't crap.

Henry Hatsworth is just the best. It gets really hard at the end - almost unplayable - but it's a goddamn blast.

I can't remember the last end boss who had a OHKO move, but #####, that was tricky to get out of.  It was the only part of the last boss I felt was a bit unfair.

Far Cry 3 is pretty fun.

I know between nothing and little about the previous games, so when my friend dumped this in my hands and said "borrow this" I didn't expect to like it. But it plays like a sweet mix of Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, and I'm all-bout-it.

I've been playing the 'girlfriend broke up with me and I just started a 55 hour week between working and my commute' game. About 2.5 hours of commuting per day on top of a 40 hrs per week job, with half hour for lunch every day.

Good thing I like driving.

Also played and beat Max Payne 3. That was a swell game, very well optimized too. It was fun and satisfying.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. I don't know the specifics but clearly you're feeling really #####ty right now. Unfortunately there's no cure but time and at least you have an equally annoying work week to distract you all the time. You'll get through it all though, you're a huge lumberjack man after all.

I've been playing Super Mario Bros. X, the one that Abominator posted in a thread a while back.
If you check with the SMBX community, people are still making stuff using the level editor. I'm in the middle of playing a very good completed episode by one of the more well-known level designers. People can really go wild with their creativity with that engine, because it's so easy to learn and use.
Example: I used a fire Yoshi to spit fire through the walls and hit otherwise untouchable enemies. Killing them all resulted in a collectible secret. You'd almost NEVER see an area that asks something like that of a player in a typical 2D Mario game these days.
(Haven't played NSMBU or NSMB2, though. I could be wrong about those.)

I'm at that point in Far Cry 3 that I've heard about, where you don't feel you need to do the other half of the game. It's very weird, it's like I'm starting Far Cry 3-2, really. I'm still interested in playing but I get why some people tapped out at like ~50% completion.

I'm playing OFF at the moment -- odd, odd little french RPG (english translation in the link) made by someone called Mortis Ghost.

It's gotten a lot of praise for its atmosphere and story. Right now (I've just started Zone 2) I can definitely say that the atmosphere part is right, and the music is fantastic. In terms of the story I've... given up trying to decipher what's going on and focus on the puzzles.

The puzzles are pretty OK, actually, for an RPG (usually for these little horror games made in RPGmaker, the puzzles are along the lines of "find object and use it on a thing"). You actually have to pay attention and write your own notes and so on, instead of relying on trial and error and pressing buttons at random.

Finished Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.  Good game, but the end was the most predictable one of the series.  Still enjoyed it a lot though.

Now on to Secret Files 2 for the DS.  I had to import it since we never got it in NA.  The funny thing is, I thought all European versions were the same multi language version, but NOPE.  I got a pink triangle "French" version.  The case is in French, the manual is all French.  The game... is entirely in English.  Dubbing.  English.  Subtitles.  English.  Game text.  English.  So I guess I'll still need to track down a Green Triangle "Queen's English" version, but at least I can play the game!

I get the most enjoyment out of the missions in the game. All the sandbox stuff is pretty boring

I finished it. It was fine. A hard fine. A solid B.

I actually liked the sandbox stuff. Hunting animals and stuff. At least when there was a reason to do it, and when you're weak enough that getting seen at all is big trouble, it was some nerve-racking fun. Especially when an animal you had no idea was even in the game just bites you out of nowhere while you're trying to sneak up on a radio tower.

But as Edge (or Delta) once said "I could spend all day going around looking at rocks".

That was more the meat of it to me, as Jason Brody and all his friends are rich little pukes that give me douche-chills. I still liked over half the missions though, just for exciting gameplay alone.

I put 4 hours into Far Cry 3 today. 3 bases left on the second island, not sure how much of the story is left.

The privateers are much harder to go rambo knife assault on.

Well you really don't need to do the outposts. I did so many undetected that I maxed out the tau tau pretty quickly. Kind of a game breaker, in a sense, because the only progression left was the actual story and by that point you're kind of in "I don't care" territory.

I have like 5 outposts left, all on the southern island. I intend to finish them off, as well as getting collectibles, but I left them active so I could farm the enemies for different challenges (such as "kill 50 enemies with the flamethrower") and so that it wasn't just animals and I left.

The Handbook in the start menu should tell you how much of ANYTHING is left.

I don't have any achievements I can get from the game, playing on PC, so I'm just trying to max my character out and finish the game without leaving anything important incomplete.

I don't really care about achievements in the first place either, but I mentioned them just as an example of ambient stuff you might want to keep some outposts active for. Especially if you manage to finish the story before maxing out, but that seems pretty difficult.
