I am looking into buying a Theremin. Has anyone heard of this instrument? They are really really cool. I could try to explain, but you could just look it up on youtube.

I am thinking about buying a B3 theremin. Does anyone have one/ know someone who has one?

I really doubt you'll find many people with one of them

Good starting place.

$500 WFB will get you, and sit down for this, Abominator Brand Haggus Pops.  Of course, you can buy a myrid of other amazing Matrix/Mega Man products with your WFB, but we all know big spenders have the most fun.

Me too.

Seems like a pretty useless instrument to me, to be honest. I can't really figure out how it works at all from that video. It looks displaced in time, like an instrument you'd see in an old movie about the distant future of the year 2000 like Demolition Man or Blade Runner.

But whatever cranks your soulja boy, broseph.

It works kind of like a censor light on a toilet, to my understanding, only more complicated and not a light censor.

On this board?

On topic: I watched that chick from Octopus Project play one of these live once. Those things are very odd, but would be very fun on mushrooms.

Blade Runner.

Was a good movie though.

But yeah, that instrument seems pretty stupid to me.

This is almost worse than buying an ocarina.

I know someone who has an ocarina but he had it before the Zelda game so he's cool. Although since high school I ignore him when I see him on the bus or whatever.

Play with one when you're on enough acid that synesthesia kicks in. THEN you'll have a blast.

Good starting place.

1. 2 of my friends have them.

2. Ebay is a HORRIBLE place for theremins. They are full of instruments that actually don't classify as theremins, because they have 1 antennae. Fake cheap non-musical theramins are easy to make and sell.

Never been a big acid fan myself.

It's damn near impossible to play unless you have perfect pitch, be warned.

This wasn't made to be pretentious. In it's time, it was extremely high tech. It was made in the early 20s.
