Download the MP3Finishing Last - By ASRI can sit here on the sidelines,
Keep closed my blinds,
Trying to forget all the kinds
...of horrible people.
Don't act like I don't know,
I can open my window
And watch you all go
Watch you all throw
All those merciless blows
On those innocent fellows
It just goes to show
That the nice guy always finishes last
With a shiny red welt on his shiny red ass
Trying to squirm and escape his horrible past
But he can't
And he knows it
Because of people like you
Who don't understand what is that you do
To destroy the lives of the ones you chew
On and expect them to
Simply forgive you
For the insults you blew
And the punches you threw
And the hatred you spewed
Sure, it might've been in passing
But the effects of that passing have been everlasting
Because the innocent folks don't forget
Any of the evil faces they've met
Still they have no choice but to let
Themselves get trampled on slightly
Lest they fight back and get beat upon nightly
Yet those slight tramples and those verbal rambles
They all really hit the spot and break a person to shambles
Like a balloon floating past brambles
They ain't gonna' survive
You're just holding them back
Keepin' 'em on the wrong track
And yet the bully denies!
Wanna' look me in the eyes?
And immortalize your web of lies?
Under these same skies
I gave you plenty of tries
I got news for you guys:
I can see right through you.
It doesn't matter what you say to me,
It doesn't matter who you claim to be,
It doesn't matter if you're in a tree,
Waiting for me
Waiting to pounce
Not waiting to flee
'Cuz I know exactly
What it is that I see, precisely
And what would that be?
I see me free
In pure har-mon-y
Trying so hard to ignore reality
With the rest of the world drowned out by the sea
Of people like you making everybody
Entirely, completely, un-hap-py.
I was a victim of this same bull#####
I had to live through it all, every bit by bit
I had to stand there and take every goddamn hit
But I'm a better person having been through all of it
Because now I see how mean people can be
To the underdog, the loser, the kid that was me
I'm not talking to the bullies of fictional lore
Who steal lunch money to spend at the comic book store
I'm talking about everyday normal citizens
Who don't belong in any federal prisons
Because in the real world they aren't breaking any laws
They're just your average fella's pointing out your average fella's flaws
It could be you who's ruined a life
Even though you don't think that I'm right
A simple "Go away!" can ruin a whole night
Shatter that shred of confidence gathered up with all his might
And that's not right.
Well, well, well, you wanna' know what is?
Then listen again 'cuz ignorance isn't bliss.
