After a long Beatles binge, followed by a quick return to AC/DC, I've settled back into my obsession with Fort Minor.

I'd love for them to get back together for a new album, so much.

Went back to OCRemix, like I sometimes do to see some new mixes. This one is REALLY good. Just added it to my iTunes.

I'm going through my old music junk, and I found some good ol' NES music from Rez's site, not to mention a couple of other things.

Like Jake's "Pop My Pee Wee".

Well Kanye I can understand. I've never payed enough attention to Lil' Wayne and L'arc En Ciel to give an opinion.

But honestly, Danity Kane?

Danity. Kane. Seriously? They don't even write their own music, and their sound is completely fabricated out of what sounds top the charts. The only engine behind them is capitalism as they literally only exist to make money. And even with all that, the music is pretty forgettable.

First of all, what do you expect from a teenage girl? In this day and age, not many young people under 16 really cares what the 'artist's' purposes are for being in the industry. They just want something that'll satisfy their earbuds.

Second of all, just because I listed the group name that 'made' the song that was coming on on the radio doesn't mean I actually enjoy listening to the crap.

What? Danity Kane is a group of 5 twenty-something women. And this is "Show Your Music" so I figured you'd only be listing something you're actually listening to ON PURPOSE, unless you had said otherwise like someone normally would.

Dude, Hannah Montana is way out of my league. Firstly, I hate country. Second, I simply don't listen to music that's featured on Disney. And thirdly, I listen to hip hop and rap and j-pop. But definitely not Hannah Montana.

Haven't you ever seen the episode of Suite Life where they all get together (barring L'arc En Ciel) and help Zack and Cody become music superstars? They each get a segment to perform one of their hits to inspire Zack and Cody during their depression scene.

What are you even talking about? You were the one talking something about Danity Kane being a 16 year old girl or whatever, I was just saying that they are a group of girls much older than that.

I might be mistaken and that's not what you were saying, but I don't even know how you were able to get to the conclusions made in this post.

Well it wasn't clear, and I don't check everyone's profile the second they join because that is stupid. I figured the "what did you expect from blah blah" was about who we were talking about, since "she" didn't specify.

My bad mistake. But still, Danity Kane is awfully awful.

1. Yes, Danity Kane sucks.
2. Sorry for the mix-up, Mikero.
3. Rapping is really just talking fast with some catchy background music and occasionally, or maybe not so occasionally, throwing in a few cuss words. But in the end it does sound good, which is why many people like it.
4. Chaos, you've got to listen to Mr. West.
5. Tupac is the best rapper because he rapped about problems in his life and in the world, instead of strippers and sex and girls and money, like most rappers these days.

You have a pretty shallow view of music.  I don't know how to say that any less pretentious-like, but I'm not trying to say you're a moron or anything like that.  There's more to rap than just talking fast though.  How come no one bothers to delve any further than what gets played on the radio?  If that's all that matters in this world, than hip hop really is dead.

Rap is awesome. I don't have as developed a taste in rap as I do with classic rock, but I still love the genre.
I'd like to learn more about which underground artists are good and bad but I'm not too interested and it's not my thing, really, but I don't mind listening.
I think it's a great form of music and don't really understand why so many people hate it.

I think everyone hates it because not everyone's views of African Americans, the majority of race that raps, is exactly . . . nice.

I'm not saying I think this, so please do not accuse me of being racist. You'd be a total idiot if you did, especially after I told you not to.

Also, most people see rap as African Americans, with the exception of Eminem and some other unkowns, spouting nonsense rapidly. However, I'm sure there's something more to it. Besides cars and bars and women and cash. *Stares coldly at T-Pain, Akon, Dolla, Webbie, etc.*

1. Yeah!
2. No problem.
3. Can't agree there, but Jake basically said it.
4. (None of my business)
5. Pac is and was great and possibly one of the best in history yes, but you have to realize that he wasn't the first, last, or only rapper of his or any day to rap about his real life struggles.

The origin of hip hop and rap was derived from that, and all the old rappers of the 80's and early 90's rapped about their actual problems. A lot of the good (a relative term, maybe) rappers still do that today. Even though the 'gangster' image might sell, a lot of rappers are just singing about what they've been through and the sales results and popularity is a side effect.

But the hip hop industry is currently flooded with the pursuit of money/fame so you get whack acts like Danity Kane, Flo Rider, and Lil Wayne. But that's today's music industry in general (which is why I'm glad the music and film industries are becoming more independant since the layman can now produce content from home) and it's happened in all genres (see: One Republic). Whether or not there's dirty language in a song doesn't change it's message, you'll find a lot of good messages if you know where to look.

Jake and I can help you out with that last part if you want.

The Radio sucks nowadays.
I remember when I was a kid I could listen to the radio for hours and be able to flip to another station at a commercial and keep listening there for a long time.

Now it's nothing but talking, it's like music is not the primary purpose any more.

Though we have a local station that plays blocks of 2 hours of music straight at 9, 1, and 5 (save for the station advertising itself between every song, eh, 20 seconds ain't too bad). Classic Rock.

I like some morning radio TALK SHOWS but not the music.

If it's the morning, I have to decide whether or not I want to listen to a talk show or plug in my iPod.

If it's noon or later, the iPod is never unplugged.

I concocted a playlist full of only songs I like so that I theoretically never need to click "Next."
