"Man Of Two Minds" by The Trews (live on MTV Live).

Have been trying to decide if I want to buy their album. I still don't know.

Been getting into The Mad Capsule Market's lately. If you like a twist of funk and experimental rock, you should definitely check 'em out.

Back into a Fort Minor kick.

Also, that Hornet Man arrange album preview on the Inti Creates site is really funky and kickin'.

The Rising Tied is their only album.

I have no idea if they have anything else planned.

But that album is ace and I keep coming back to it. Every single track on it is great.

Mike, he doesn't need his name up in lights, he just wants to be heard whether it's the beat or the mic. He feels so unlike everybody else, alone, in spite of the fact that some people still think that they know 'im.

BUT ##### 'EM

HE KNOWS THE CODE

Yeah. Mike Shinoda. The main members of their group all get one or two verses for themselves that they narrate in third person.

But check out High Road, Right Now, Red to Black... and well, the whole album. Just trust me.

So.

Somebody in one of my classes told me about this rapper called Mega Ran, or Random, really.

Apparently he made a whole rap album based on MegaMan tracks. I just downloaded it and am listening to it.

It's actually...

...pretty good. I mean, I enjoy it.

I was sort of expecting some #####ty remixes and low quality tracks.

Reccomended to you guys to at least give it a listen.

I was in Staples the other day buying some pens for work, when I noticed that they have a $7.99 CD/DVD bin. I've bought Duran Duran "Rio" and Michael Jackson "Off the Wall", and I might go back tonight for Blondie "Parallel Lines".

I'm digging this early Jackson stuff. "Working Day and Night" is a really tight song.

Speed, there's a thing called an "Ebay" for buying ancient CDs for a lot less than that.

(Amazon Marketplace, too.)

J-Live is pretty rad. This song is a favorite. Not so much the beats, but the lyrics are what gets me.

Couldn't upload the actual mp3, so that's as close as I can get.

Yes, it's from T.H.U.G.

Yeah, I know it's there, but I really only use eBay for video games and odd CD titles that I look for on a whim. Besides, by the time all is said and done, $7.99 is what I would have paid for the item and shipping and handling.

I've been wanting to hear it but haven't gotten the chance. I don't entirely care right now because I don't think I won any of the SEVEN draws I entered to get tickets to see them on the CHANCE they'd come to Ottawa (they hadn't announced the second leg of the tour yet but the local Classic Rock station was doing draws for tickets because they were confident that ACDC would announce a show here. I'm not sure if they did or not.)

On a different radio station today, Kiss FM (which boasts that it's "Today's best music" and is probably targeted at anyone between teens to forties AKA Parents trying to stay youngesque), I was sad to hear;

"Today's best music is... The B-52's."

And then they played Love Shack.

I'm really enjoying indie music again. It's awesome.

Is Death Cab really considered Indie anymore?

I hate the idea that not being on a major label or whatever gets you classified in a whole other genre, as if that makes any sense. And it makes the scope of what can be considered "Indie" too big to make any claim on whether you like it or not. Even if you're talking about something more specific like "Indie rock" or "Indie pop".

Pyroxene ~ Motoi Sakuraba (Star Ocean 2)

I never have been sure what it is about this BGM, but I love it.
Almost 100% of the OST for Star Ocean 2 is wonderful. It's not hard to believe this is the same composer who made Golden Sun not only tolerable but a fun experience (for me).

Anyone who can make an RPG a fun experience for me deserves a medal.

Mikero: I loathe the term 'classic rock' for exactly the same reason. I guess more specifically I don't mind the term itself but it being considered a genre sets my teeth on edge.

Anyways, Meat Loaf - For Crying Out Loud

Beautiful song, definitely recommended for anyone who likes their music soft.

I don't know if Death Cab is technically independent, but I classify "indie" based on sound type and origins, rather than record labels. Much of the indie pop and indie rock scenes, at least the ones that I've heard that actually classified themselves as "Indie," do tend to share a sound in common, even with each other.

"Hipster" might be a better terminology for the specifics of what I've been listening to, I guess. Kind of.

Hm. Coffeehouse music?

Yeah I figured you meant the sound, which-like anything- I have a hard time classifying as "Indie". My response on that part was more towards the combination of your and TLO's posts.

Anyhoo, anyone would be smart to listen to the Boys Noize mix of "My Moon My Man" by Feist, which is the last track on Boys Noize's album OiOiOi. That is, if you like Feist in the first place. Which I do and can't imagine why anyone wouldn't.

Anyway the Boys Noize mix is ridiculously good. Which makes sense since he's awesome and she's awesome and it's great.

Oh also, Feist is a hilarious and quirky person live, and I loved that.

Listening to Tom Waits' Black Wings.

Not sure what I think about it. It's growing on me, and the lyrics sure are cool, and yet. And still.

Maybe I should stick to Leonard Cohen...

Most of their songs are pretty mellow and relaxing, and I'm liking that type of stuff right now.

And I know that you're busy too
I know that you care

And it hurts all the time when you don't return my calls
