Finally got around to listening to "Do Ya Thing" by Gorillaz, Andre 3000, and Eddie Murphy. Thought the song was pretty good. Andre #####ing killed it. Beyond that, I've been listening to the tracks from She's next album "Journeys." "Journey 9" is probably my favorite track released thus far. "Journey 7" is second best.

I'm really starting to hate pop radio right now. This is any hour during the day near me: -20 minutes of commercials -2 Katy Perry songs (1 of them being "Part of Me") -1 song featuring Nicki Minaj or a Nicki Minaj song -1 song by Adele (this is okay, because she actually has talent) -Fun "We Are Young" (because the anthem of hipsters living off their parents' money isn't played on TV enough) -1 "dance" song (usually featuring Pitbull) -Kelly Clarkson "Stronger" (may be played twice in an hour) -Token "alternative/indie" song (Coldplay, Gotye, Foster the People - but done in phases...almost as if there's an "alternative/indie" band of the month for pop radio) -1 Bruno Mars song -1 "rap" song

Yesterday was Record Store Day, and while I didn't pick up any of the RSD exclusives (there's no way I'm paying $8 for a single on vinyl), I still bought quite a few albums. Anti-Flag "The General Strike" John Legend & The Roots "Wake Up!" Mos Def "Black on Both Sides" Nirvana "Nirvana" Pennywise "Live @ the Key Club" Pennywise "From the Ashes" Pennywise "The Fuse" The Raveonettes "Into the Night" Posted on: April 22, 2012, 12:22:17 PM

Right.
There are very few acts, even to this day, that are as brain hammering and mind altering as seeing Fleetwood Mac live, which I did last night.
Stevie Nicks remains head-to-tow a rock goddess at 64 years old, attitude and all.
Lindsey Buckingham (63) shredded out a, like, 10 minute guitar solo. People were so transfixed it seemed like none took a breath the entire time. Faster and harder than most punk acts I've seen. In fact, it was faster and harder than most electronic acts I've seen. I don't even GET what happened.
But then, Mick Fleetwood (65), in an almost "we've all still got it" move crashed a drum solo for even longer, and even crazier, while bantering with the crowd.
And John McVie (67), the "Mac" part, has this way of saying nothing but being undeniable. I'm not sure if he's got stage fright (even this far in) or something, but he's just chilly on the bass guitar minding his own. But you can just tell that no one else can do what he's doing right.
It's not like I'm even a super fan, either. I don't really hide that I'm an old-school hip hop head, though I've got tastes from all around the map. I just sort of got into them right as we found out they were coming to town. With 2 encore acts this would have been impressive enough if they were in their 20's, the talent level is out of sight, but 35 years into the game they put on an absolutely incredible show.
And I've seen some #####in' shows, mate.
