I hope he knows that the two versions can link up together.
I hope he knows that I traded like a million times. I also hope he knows what a magikarp is.

I think he was originally saying only one person has posted a Pokémon FC. He just said it poorly.

Hm. It's named like one, but there's nothing magical about it. I never understood how scientist people in that world would classify it as a Pokemon. It acts completely like any other normal fish, it just looks cartoony.

Except that people don't seem to generally know that. Also, they would have found that out AFTER classifying it as a Pokemon in the first place. It's like they took a random animal and guessed that it MIGHT be a Pokemon and got lucky.

I think they probably operate on the rule that if it can say it's own name and nothing else, yet still strike up a conversation with another creature, it's a Pokemon. Other than that, it was probably luck.

I've always wondered how regular animals fit into the world of Pokemon.

I guess all animals are Pokemon.

Which seems a bit horrifying when you realize the whole human population is just enslaving all the wildlife and making it battle.

The terrorists of today need to follow Team Rocket. Instead of weapons of mass destruction, they need to enslave animals and make them do their bidding. Screw bombs, they have bears, bears with chainsaws even.

In the original game, which is the only thing Pokemon that matters, they just make sounds like every other animal on the Earth. The only classification that seems to make Pokemon different from just animals is the fact that they evolve hyper-rapidly. And that they may or may not be from space.

The "evolution" of Pokemon is just rapid metamorphosis.
I'm sure that children have no idea what evolution is because of these games.

Probably. But even so, the metamorphosis (or "evolution" as the games tell you) is way beyond rapid. It's like rapid to the tenth power. That said, Magikarp is among the Pokemon that take a long and annoying time to "evolve", so scientists probably wouldn't have been able to tell it was a Pokemon without just guessing.

Think of all the experiments they had to do on regular cats to figure out they wouldn't evolve....

Uhm, OK. Do DS's randomly reset themselves? 'Cause I just turned mine on for the first time in like forever and I had to reenter everything. Everything. Like even my nickname. And it wouldn't turn on for a long time even though it was plugged it, so I guess it was just THAT dead...

I haven't heard of anyone else's doing that.

Also, Pokémon PalPad code (I've got platinum) is:

It's an insanely simple number.

How old is your DS, Mike?

If it's the phat, the battery might be dying.

But if it's beyond repair you could sell your DS for parts, I managed to sell my first dead one for $30.

My GBA SP's battery is completely dead.

I'd like to replace it, so I can play GB/C games again with Backlight. But I once opened it years ago and i remember the battery being in a weird wrapping with a wire coming out of it going inside the GBA... didn't want to mess with that.

I bought another SP just so I can have a backup in case my DS dies and so I can play all my Gameboy games. I'll probably just get a DSi around that time as well.

So if both die, it'll suck.
