What do you mean it doesn't work with your DS? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard and there must be a simple solution for it.

Same thing happens with my Wii, except for my Wii it takes about 50 tries to finally get it to work.

It's called WEP, boy, the new system doesn't support WEP.

Well, you can disable WEP protection if you want, but I understand what you mean, now. Your parents probably want to keep it protected.

...My parents? I'm not 5 years old, I how the hell it's setup. The thing is this new setup doesn't really have any real WEP at all, and that's what the DS connects through, so no dice.

You can change the settings on the DS you know. If WEP is on, turn it off.

Or try to scan again.

MY router doesn't use WEP and its fine.

You'll probably be able to tap you campus' wireless for free. All campus' have free wireless for students, and the dorms would be all hooked up.

I moved my Wii to be closer to the thing thinking that would help. It didn't, it was a problem with my PC which I had to fix. Twice. But otherwise the range on it is fine but it's annoying that you have to have the computer on and logged in to the particular account that the Wii/DS is registered with. #####. You don't need to have your main line PC running for your wireless router to let your laptop connect.
