I'm currently watching a very complicated drama/harem anime on YouTube, called School Days. It's about one guy, named Makoto Ito, and about seven girls. He has serious feelings for only two, but occasionally sleeps with the other five, and all the girls get pissed at each other, and one girl, Sekai, the girl who was Makoto's close friend, kills him after finding out he slept with someone else. It's all very complicated, and I'm not sure it's that good of an anime, but I have nothing else to watch, so I'll just watch this.

That sounds more than awful.

I totally agree but it still feels like a fun idea. I think they ended it perfectly anyway, and the movie is unnecessary, but I wouldn't mind because if anyone can pull it off, it's the team that made Arrested Development. I still can't get over how much they made fun of themselves after they knew they were cancelled. Even in the second season, I caught the subtle line "You want us to drop down from 22 houses to 18?" Unless I'm wrong, it's referencing why Season 2 has less episodes than Season 1. Oh, and it's fun to pause the DVD whenever they show a yearbook entry and read the other entries. Steve Holt's mom was named Eve Holt, haha. Posted on: 16 June 2008, 01:24:22
Oh, and on the subject of TV-shows-made-movies: before they settled on an 8th season of Scrubs, they were going to make a straight-to-DVD movie to cap off the series because of the abrupt Writer's Strike. However, they moved to ABC instead (ABC's resources funded and created the show in the first place, but NBC aired it) and were given at least one more season with the possiblity of more. My point is that I think straight-to-DVD movies for abruptly cancelled TV-shows is a much better idea than trying to go Hollywood on it, assuming you get unlimited freedom with a straight-to-DVD release.

Yeah, and the show is definitely the type that can stand up to multiple viewings so more isn't really necessary. Posted on: 16 June 2008, 02:16:20
I loved this bit: Michael: Hey, so what's going on with the fund raiser? George Sr.: Well, I don't think the Home Builders Organization is going to be supporting us. Michael: Yeah, the HBO's not gonna want us. What do we do now? George Sr.: Well, I think it's Showtime. I think we have to put on a show during dinner. And "Please, tell your friends about this show" before the commercial break.

Hehe, I should look into ReBoot. I remember watching it once or twice long long ago, and liking it, but I never got into it.
Oh, and for the record, I personally took note of the part where I laughed the hardest during Arrested Development. It was when Rita walks on the water, and Michael asked Gob if that was his wedding trick, and they just sort of stare at each other uneasily. "No, Michael, that wasn't my wedding trick." And the episode sort of ends, and I was just like "what?" And then it pops right back in and Gob shouts "It was my wedding ILLUSION!"
