Most of today's TV series are made of tragic #####.

MOST, not all.

The title card was the best part of the episode. It took my maybe 3 seconds to understand what was going on.

Overall though, pretty much a pile of ass.
I hate time skipping crap, I don't care what happened then or in the future, just friggin carry on the story.

Only interesting stuff was Petrelli fam. I'm glad Elle was there 'cause I wanted to look at her some more. Stuff with the firestarters was OK enough, in that I didn't know they were family as well (since EVERYONE has to be in this). I didn't think anything was all that great but I kind of like it when things all connect (although this was very lack lustre).

I like finding out stuff about the past, but I'm tired of every plot being "someone from future says this is crap and comes back in time and tells them all to fix it but doesn't actually tell them how beyond cryptic bull#####."

I've been watching the third season of Dexter, regardless of the fact that the first episode introduced a plot line that feel obvious and tacked on.

I'm glad I did. While said plot-line is rubbish, the rest of the writing is gold.

It's pretty obvious who the killer is, but this season is much better than season 2.

I watched one episode this season and liked it enough, but I've never seen anything else of it so yeah. It was one where he had to pretend to be another agent, who was himself some suave Bondish type with the ladies, and then seduce some enemy chick.

*has no idea what you're talking about*

Start with the first Season, if you watch any of it.
They took almost all of the best elements of the book and improved upon the writing and ending.

Newer seasons lack a lot of the character strength that the first had, and don't have plot-lines that could even begin contend with the Ice-Truck killer and the tapystry of themes at play in season one.

They really ought to bring in Jeff Lindsay as a writers consultant. The books aren't as well done as the show, but the show doesn't have it's vision without the books.

Woah. I was thinking of a totally different show called "Chuck". I've seen ads for Dexter and ads for Chuck within the same commercial break before.

#####ing main character named shows.

Now, Chuck I like.

My roommate is into that show, and he made me watch an episode last night (right before our other friend made us watch Heroes directly afterwards) and I really liked it.

I'm going to go back and watch the whole first season soon, and then catch up with what's going on now.

The one I watched last night had Buster Bluth in it! I was like, yeah!

From the episode I saw, it was a lighthearted comedy "drama" sort of show. Chuck is some normal guy who the government did something to (I don't fully understand yet) that lets him see flashes of important secret government info, and the CIA uses him to solve problems and such.

It was funny and interesting enough, and seemed pretty fresh.

I remember when it was first being advertised, I really wanted to watch it but never had the time. Kind of like that Eli Stone show. I wanted to watch that, too.

When I watch more, I'll let you know my real opinion.

Just finished Season 4 of Doctor Who.

I guess I'm all caught up, unless there's been a special since then.

It definitely got a lot weaker with Season 3 and 4, but I still like it.

It's one of the few shows that really captures the full spectrum of emotion for the viewer. Most notably happiness, when things go right.

I will NEVER forget the moment in the gas mask episode of the first season.

"Just this once... EVERYONE LIVES!"

And the Doctor is just such a powerful character. He permanently stands for everything that is right. You ALWAYS believe him and never doubt him.

Not common nowadays.

But yeah.

Now I'm about to start Chuck and, eventually, watch Torchwood. I've got that downloaded but don't feel like watching it right away.

From what I've heard, it's Gundam Wing projected into some sort of alternate universe or something. I'm not entirely clear on it all and I don't really care, but the mobile suits are all supposedly ripped right from Wing.

Also, I read some of CrossBone Gundam, and it's really good. It should be more famous than it already is. Seriously. There's a mother #####ing Gundam cutlass.

Anyway I used to think the worst part of when that girl dies at the end was hearing all her bones breaking. I now think it's Tetsuo's screaming about it, and then his description of her pain or whatever moving through him as her hand pops out in front of Kaneda. Yuck.

Ooh yeah, I know what you mean and I feel the same way. It's also one of my favorite parts too, she probably dies one of the worst ways in the entire movie.

It also looks like the guys from South Park like that part too, seein' as they put into one of their episodes. The trapper keeper episode, you know the one.
