I think we already have like three times already. Posted on: 2 November 2008, 01:52:52 http://ningin.com/mediastream/item:show/2008/11/21/megaman-movie-official-trailer/HEY URRBOD Here's the trailer. I don't know what to think. As a fan of MegaMan, I'm not sure I like it. As a fan of movies, I'm not sure I like it. But I'm not sure I DON'T like it, either. Plus, it's just a trailer. Who knows? Roll's actress is balls.

To be honest, man, I really appreciate the time and effort you're putting into this, but I think this was just too ambitious of a project. For anyone, really. It's nearly impossible to please MegaMan fans. Of course, I still haven't seen the film so I can't truly criticize it yet, and I'll definitely still watch it.
Just be happy that some fans are at least supportive of the movie. MMM is a pretty critical group, and it's very rare that the more critical of us find something we actually like, and it's even rare that we all agree on it.
The trailer was just a big disappointment for me. I'm still excited to see the finished project, and I'm sure everyone else here is, too, save for the more cynical.
Just... that actress. Ugh.

Right.
The whole site is NOT against this movie. You had a pretty strong percentage of this site convinced that this would be awesome up until the trailer came out. I can't say why people's opinions are changing specifically because mine was always the same. Not based on your efforts, but on the fact that these types of ventures almost always don't work out or aren't up to my own standards.
I can appreciate the work, dedication, and passion but I still don't think it'll be that great. That said, I'm completely certain it will be entertaining and I will probably watch it if I can.
It's really not anyone or thing's fault in particular and I'm surprised that everyone seems to be blaming it all on the Roll actress when if they'd been paying attention this whole time they'd not be surprised right now. We saw stuff of her earlier, and it was the same. Hell, I could tell she was like that from her picture, and really I don't know what anyone thinks the Roll character SHOULD be like. I mean, she was always somewhat airheadly, and it's been known for a LONG damn time she was being played by an asian woman so I've no idea why that's suddenly an issue now.
Nothing in that trailer was surprising or different from what we've seen before, it's so odd that now people on this board have a problem. I feel like--in the MM community as a whole but also prevalent on this site--if a certain amount of people squirt over something then a lot of people follow suit, hyping up the next person that much more and so on. And if a certain amount of people bash something then the people follow suit that way, with similar exponential movement. It's actually something I find very hard to stand.

Uh... Daftman? Can you please tell me what the hell is goin' on with Roll's face in the "You're special!" scene? How did you let that slip by?
Ha, I was unaware I let anything slip by! I don't see anything wrong and if there was anything iffy, it would have to do with the timing of the shot selection more than anything else. You can take the most beautiful actress in the world, take a shot of them from a specific film scene they are doing and at least once, there face will look iffy in delivery of dialogue (although I don't see it here). Honestly, I believe within the context of the film, more people will be very accepting of Roll. I'm surprised that people are examining shots with this much precision.... Roll is very bubbly, cheerful, and expressive. This in live action was already difficult to pull off but I'm happy with the results of the actress. Here's hoping others are as well! Man, video game fan films are tough business I must say!
