HEY URRBOD

Here's the trailer.

I don't know what to think.

As a fan of MegaMan, I'm not sure I like it.
As a fan of movies, I'm not sure I like it.

But I'm not sure I DON'T like it, either.

Plus, it's just a trailer. Who knows?

Roll's actress is balls.

I'm disappointed in the robot masters, they could've looked a lot better, especially Elec and Ice Man. Fire Man looks good, and I think they all should have had crazy mask's.

The actor's are seriously lacking for this movie, Rock and Roll look trashy, blond hair on an Asian woman looks weird. And Rock should have had like, crazy hair, not like, NO hair.

Proto Man look's gross.

NOT TO BASH EDDIE because overall it looks like a lot of work was put into this film, but I agree on Roll.  She just seems out of place.

I will watch it regardless, and probably enjoy it.

Oh come on, Roll's not that bad.
'Cept she does look creepy as ##### in that "You're special" scene.
I'm sure there's got to be a reason for that.
There's got to be, otherwise they'd have done another take or something.

You would bring that up, wouldn't you? Just because that style of music doesn't do anything for you.

That trailer doesn't show me a lot of good, but I feel convinced there'd be a few good scenes in there.

They're all terrible actors, but then what do you expect from a fanfilm? At least they're trying, and having fun while doing it.

It being a fan film is no excuse for it being terrible.

It doesn't NEED to be made.

There's no reason for it to exist if it can't be good.

If I can say one thing about it... It's not much but...

This will be much better than the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie.

I'm actually entertained a bit by this. The script needs work, but I can enjoy some of it.

It's not at all hard to be better than Yu-Gi-Oh! live-action. The concept actually negates any possible-but FLEETING-entertainment from the animated version.

While wearing my 8-bit Mega Man shirt, I watched the trailer at school a couple days ago.

A couple people were standing behind me; laughing at how bad eveything looked. I turned around and they saw the shirt...

... said I would be camping out to go see it...

... I don't want to go back to school. ):

Hey man, it's hard to make a movie out of something like MegaMan. But not everyone will be pleased.

I'll watch it but I won't have an opinion of it until after I watch it. It looks interesting to me, if it matters.

To be honest, man, I really appreciate the time and effort you're putting into this, but I think this was just too ambitious of a project. For anyone, really.
It's nearly impossible to please MegaMan fans.
Of course, I still haven't seen the film so I can't truly criticize it yet, and I'll definitely still watch it.

Just be happy that some fans are at least supportive of the movie. MMM is a pretty critical group, and it's very rare that the more critical of us find something we actually like, and it's even rare that we all agree on it.

The trailer was just a big disappointment for me. I'm still excited to see the finished project, and I'm sure everyone else here is, too, save for the more cynical.

Just... that actress. Ugh.

I knew getting into this that there would be both support and disappointment one way or another so I ain't bothered.   You have to take criticism like a man so it's not that the comments bother me, it's that I find it interesting the dynamic of some forums.  You get a better understanding of the fan base both good and bad and what works for some and what doesn't work for others.   Watch what I've released, judge for yourself, and be honest.

I agree that some of this looks pretty junky, and that Roll is... pretty bad, but seeing as this has a limited budget, I will defend this movie if anyone overly bashes it.

I get the feeling I will enjoy this movie. Perhaps it can bring inspiration for a real Hollywood Mega Man movie years from now. Who knows?

But in all honesty, yes, that trailer seemed pretty "bleh" here and there. It took me a little while to actually tell who Elec Man and Ice Man were, and although Mega/Rock and Roll aren't up to perfection, you have done a fine job with this movie from what I've seen so far.

Right.

The whole site is NOT against this movie. You had a pretty strong percentage of this site convinced that this would be awesome up until the trailer came out. I can't say why people's opinions are changing specifically because mine was always the same. Not based on your efforts, but on the fact that these types of ventures almost always don't work out or aren't up to my own standards.

I can appreciate the work, dedication, and passion but I still don't think it'll be that great. That said, I'm completely certain it will be entertaining and I will probably watch it if I can.

It's really not anyone or thing's fault in particular and I'm surprised that everyone seems to be blaming it all on the Roll actress when if they'd been paying attention this whole time they'd not be surprised right now. We saw stuff of her earlier, and it was the same. Hell, I could tell she was like that from her picture, and really I don't know what anyone thinks the Roll character SHOULD be like. I mean, she was always somewhat airheadly, and it's been known for a LONG damn time she was being played by an asian woman so I've no idea why that's suddenly an issue now.

Nothing in that trailer was surprising or different from what we've seen before, it's so odd that now people on this board have a problem. I feel like--in the MM community as a whole but also prevalent on this site--if a certain amount of people squirt over something then a lot of people follow suit, hyping up the next person that much more and so on. And if a certain amount of people bash something then the people follow suit that way, with similar exponential movement. It's actually something I find very hard to stand.

I try not to, and hold on to my opinion for the most part. I actually will enjoy this movie.

Yeah, everyone who's seen the trailer (that I know personally) thinks it's rubbish. There have been a few positive comments, the 3d animation looks fantastic, and the costumes (sans Roll's hair) are great. The main problems are the dialogue, the stiff acting, and... everything about Roll.

Ha, I was unaware I let anything slip by! :P

I don't see anything wrong and if there was anything iffy, it would have to do with the timing of the shot selection more than anything else.  You can take the most beautiful actress in the world, take a shot  of them from a specific film scene they are doing and at least once, there face will look iffy in delivery of dialogue (although I don't see it here).

Honestly, I believe within the context of the film, more people will be very accepting of Roll.  I'm surprised that people are examining shots with this much precision....

Roll is very bubbly, cheerful, and expressive.  This in live action was already difficult to pull off but I'm happy with the results of the actress.  Here's hoping others are as well!

Man, video game fan films are tough business I must say!
