Trying to figure out how to use CS3. It's different than the Photoshop I learned to use.

I don't know how to create a path around a picture, then fill in the LINE ONLY of the work path. I wanna outline Abe, but I can't figure out how.

Using a mac here, dunno if you do too, but the differences ought to be minimal.

Select the pen tool and change it to Paths. It defaults to "Shape layers" I think. Then draw your outline.

When you're done, right click, Make Selection, and Stroke it.

Hah Photoshop differences between Mac and PC are like LESS than minimal. I think there's like... 2 differences. And they're almost nothing at all.

Most of the differences involve having to use a Mac for one of them.

One distinct thing I remember is that my brother bootlegged it on his Mac and there were just, like, only 5 filters. I don't know if it was because he bootlegged it or not, it was just weird. I think he fixed it later.

Maybe he put on Photoshop Elements. Which is just an ass version of Photoshop and I don't know why it even exists or why anyone ever gets it.

No, it was the newest version at the time. I remember he asked me to help him and I was way too disinterested to do so. But I made a point to let him know that there weren't nearly enough filters available.

I didn't really care.

NO. CS-whatever!

I distinctly remember making a comment along the lines of "Elements has more filters than this!"

I just asked him, apparently it was related to having installed it twice, and mainly involving it being a bootleg, so nevermind.

Uploading this for Ikeoko's viewing pleasure.

You've probably seen mine before, but she hasn't.

My sprite is a Vent edit. Her's is an Aile edit, and she's halfway finished.

You need to make hers more girl-like.

Yours is fine, but I haven't seen Vent much so I don't know how close to the sprite it is.

...

1.) You sayin' she's not feminine?

2.) I GAVE HER BOOBS.

I don't get what you mean.

Anyway, she's also gonna wear pants. Blue jeans to be accurate.

I didn't think she was a girl at first glance.

And the boobs aren't very obvious, though I guess they're fine after a closer look.

She's considering a skirt.

I might try working on her right side and making her hair longer, but I don't see anything else I can do.

Personally, there's something about the hair that bothers me... might be that it "feels" thick, if you get what I mean.

But that's just me.

Tits are easy to sprite, they can be boxes and look like round with proper shading. I think the main problem is the hair, when you're doing dark hair you should always apply lighter parts to it, even if its jet black. You should also check out the outline on the hair, its too thick I think, try and work on the hair and it should look ace.

A shirt with lines does not work on a sprite that size.
It makes her body a confusing jumble of crazy lines.

I hate the word "tits" but at the same time find it hilarious...

Anyway. Her whole sprite is indeed thick, especially with the legs which look manly. Unless she's an olympic track and fielder.

And like the man said, the lines don't work on the shirt. I'd go with all white or something.

Also, the hair's proximity to the nearly invisible neck gives off a Licoln beardy look I think.

It's unfinished. I hardly even bothered with the legs. Everything above the belt is the work.

She wanted grey and white stripes. I know what you mean, but I think it's alright so far. I'll leave it up to her.

Oh ahaha

Most people (my age, even) still seem to find it very uncomfortable to talk openly and seriously about certain parts of the body. Bearing in mind that "she has nice tits" doesn't count as open and serious for me.

BUT ANYWAY yeah, the sprite. I think those... leggings for Ikeoko's sprite need to be shaded differently, too. The colours seem completely different.

I tend to be very open about what I think of people.

It's not a good tendency for the most part, but I'm comfortable with what I say so I don't care. I don't condone it with other people, though. I just seem to get away with it.

I'm not saying you didn't mention it. I'm just saying the information helps.

For the record I skim read this and I feel bad about posting things off-topic in someone's thread so I usually try to bring us back to the subject somehow, and that's the only way I could think to do it.

I'm horrible with projects, since I never finish them, but I had an idea on paper that I'd like to eventually happen sometime.

The idea isn't original. It's a MMM Mega Man game.

Although ASR attempted something similar, I've already chosen 8 Matricians and weapons (All which I've carefully thought out so they'd be useful).

I attempted to make an 8-bit mugshot of myself. The result was okay, but I do have one problem.

The background is supposed to be black.

My hair is black.

Use a dark shade of blue for both the hair and the jacket...

Or get rid of the green eyes.

...

You have a grey color in your shirt under the jacket though. You could make that darker and use it for the hair.
