New Disgaea games

Apparently, within the next year or two there is going to be a new Disgaea game for the DS and PSP {different versions}. I'm trying to research more on the story/setting, but from what I've found it will utilize save data from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness {PSP} and Disgaea 3 {PS3} to unlock new features/weapons/skills.

I borrowed one of the Disgaea games on the PSP from my friend. It's very comical and interesting. Very well done.

That is, if you have the patience. I got sick of just being so damn weak and spending my time leveling up, I didn't get past chapter one.

No. In most GOOD RPGs, they don't bore me to death and actually let me advance through the plot with some decency.

Usually the only time in a properly-made RPG that you end up too weak to fight something when you're SUPPOSED to be fighting it is if you run away from battles instead of fighting every bad guy you possibly can on your way from place to place.

It's impossible to "run away" in Disgaea.

To advance, you have to beat every little enemy in the stage.

Or if you'd learn to go into the Item World and level up, you wouldn't die in one hit.
And there's two for PS2: Hour of Darkness, and Cursed Memories. {Afternoon of Darkness {PSP} was a remake of Hour of Darkness} Disgaea also has a habit of making anime references. And, there has been talk within Nippon Ichi Software {company that created Disgaea} that there will be a Megaman reference; specifically, a Mega-buster as a weapon {gun}.

Disgaia is a TACTICAL RPG, not a traditional RPG.  And even for a tactical RPG, Disgaia was designed around grinding.  Even I find it overdone.  But most of the time a good RPG strikes a balance between leveling and game progression.  Disgaia is not one of those, but as it's a tactical RPG, I generally forgive it.

And people who feel the need to put a "J" or "W" infront of RPG can go ##### off.  They're all RPGs regardless of country of origin.  And most ALL RPGs have been ##### for the last 2 or 3 years.

I rented it. I found the fact that you could basically free roam pretty nice. It was OK I guess, but I've never played a GOOD Superman game.

Eh, could've been a lot better. That's not to say that they sucked completely. Its better to play ZX for a couple hours than some Barbie game.
