So, Opal got a gamecube about a month ago, And I recently decided it would be a good idea to get the gameboy player for it.

I plugged it up, and to test it, I grabbed my trusty Megaman Battlenetwork 3: White.

I spent a good hour from the beginning reveling in the fun I once had, and still am able to enjoy with BN's early years. How I missed Dex, Yai, and Mayl. How I needed to pull out my chip folder and start virus busting again.

I must be getting old.

Anyone else whip out MMBN1-3 for fun anymore?

Or Has 4-6 really made you that bitter?

I think I'm going to play it through again for old times sake...

I played BN1 and BN2, and I just finished replaying BN3 again, but I'm stuck at Serenade's door because I really don't feel like getting all 200 chips by myself again.

I still like the first three BNs.

I still play all of the BN games. The ONLY thing I haven't done in any of them is complete BN1's library. Damned "special" chip trader. {has fully beaten/collected everything else}

The Special Chip Trader is a great way of getting Hero Swords.

I'm still playing through BN2's Hard Mode, trying to S Rank Navi's and stuff.

I still haven't gotten Hard Mode normally... Eh. I still need to get all the chips. I have 229/250, and in order to fight BassDeluxe and get LifeAura, Bass v2 and v3 I need to get 247/250. T_T

Yes.

Network Transmission and Battle Chip Challenge were insults, but Battle Network 4-6 were nothing less of fecal matter directed at our faces.

I spent hours slotting in chips into the trader to get what I'm missing, and still need a good 10 chips to be able to fight Bass.  I just gave up.  Though I still miss being able to have 10 of any chip in my folder and just soft resetting to get my chips back if the one the trader spits out isn't what I want.

FlameMan's Scenario was probably the most tedious part of BN3. Well, then there's the Time Trials.

Yea, that part sucked. The only game with more errand running than that was BN 4 with the errands for the contestants. >.< I refuse to replay the game for that mostly.

I got 244/250 chips in BN2. :O

1 of them is DropDown, which I'll have to go hunt a Popper3 for like I did for Lavadragon... the other two are chips I can buy but need 40,000 zenny total to get them.

The last three will be from Bass Deluxe... who will appear after I get the first 3 chips...

I just MIGHT be able to finish this... but then again, after this I'll have to do all the PAs too, but that's not as bad, since I only have 12 more to go and there's 31 PAs.

Blue has FolderBack. You can't beat that.

Also, I got all the chips and PAs in BN2. :0

...Then I found out I have to also get 10 secret chips through netbattling with a friend. Yeah, I think I'm done. Screw Hard Mode, maybe I'll cheat to get the last 10 chips later.

back on topic. A while back I defeated .exe3

The level of difficulty was horrible...

I used to have trouble with alpha... This time I forgot to re-equip my main folder after upping my PA numbers. I was using a trash folder of Items I'd "ADD" or use quickly to open slots for my PA.

... Defeated Bass and Alpha first try...

I put saved it and put it down, havn't picked it up since.

I had to borrow Hub Batch from a friend to beat Alpha the first time. I didn't/don't use the kinds of P.A.s that would break him open AND hurt him.

Not really on topic but I'd like a port of the original MMBN games to the DS with WiFi play.

Multiplayer game links with MMBN isn't popular anymore.  :(

You'd probably get something as fat as the older DS if they did that. Adding the link system to the GBA engine in the DS would make it hefty.

No, BN5 Was a sorry excuse for a game. The battlechips sucked, The story sucked, the navis sucked, The souls sucked,  the bosses sucked, the gameplay sucked, the sprites sucked, that stupid #####ing water world REALLY sucked, and all the little weeaboos that liked 5 SUCK.

We are talking about the Era before battlenetwork made you feel like capcom, and it's affiliates, were weakening the English speaking community by giving them games that, in the process of playing them, would actually turn your brain to mush faster than watching a 'Barney the dinosaur' marathon.

Adding the link system to the GBA engine in the DS would make it hefty.
And it wouldn't work...

I mean...

Really...

I still load my BN3 game from time to time.  I mainly use it to beat up Protoman and try to beat my record against him.  If I could re-fight BassGS, I would do that, instead.

I prefer the Bass chip in White over Bass+ in Blue.  Since the Bass chip is always the one taking up my Giga slot from 3 onwards, I don't really care about FolderBack.  ...Assuming I can work up the motivation to fight Bass in 4 or 5.  I only have four or so chips to go in 4, but I just can't bring myself to play it.

Four, When I first picked it up, Wasn't too horribly bad. I was quite excited about the whole soul feature. Though playing it a fourth time to get all six souls made my insides turn against me. I died that day, on the inside, literally.

Bass was never a character I could stand, Especially in the EXE. Somehow they were able to give two personalities to 'pompous idiot with self sufficiency issues.'

Protoman was... fail. The first BN game I picked up, I noticed that protoman was more of an unicorn (that sounds odd), with his silvery mane and single horn, Than the rarely appearing Eddie ripoff in MM IV.

As much as I liked the whole, Megaman tempted by evil bull#####, I never used it. The penalty was poor and weak, I found more power in my PAs and my unbalanced chip folder than one single Dark chip. I was bitter that my second line of chips was corrupted and in it's place these useless insults to my strategies.

I was told, through FAQ, Walk through, and my siblings with the game, that once you hit 1HP, You wouldn't have to do any of the work in battle because megaman would morph into an evil black blur of a rage... However that also didn't appeal to me lest I play another Battle chip Challenge.

It was little more than a letdown. Full syncro got in the way, the torniment was a joke, and as far as I'm concerned HUB died at the end of 3... LIKE THE GAME SAID! (before that bull##### cop-out cut scene.)

First of all Hub died before any of the series. The MM = Hub stuff is crap. He's not Hub. Hub was a human being, he died. MegaMan is somehow by some fake science a copy of Hub's brain patterns or some stupid thing.... It's very dumb.

Also, I'm sure you didn't LITERALLY die inside, haha. I love it when people say "literally" just a bit too often.
