It's completely possible. It's just arranging the shapes in a different way. It just so happens that you can arrange it one way and it looks like a triangle, and you can arrange them another way so that it looks like a triangle with a missing block.

There's a bunch of other ways you can arrange them, too.

It's not anything special. It's just the caption "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE OMG" that makes you think it's something special.

The shape is made with pieces that all have the same area.
The dimensions are the same.

No matter how you arrange the insides of a 5x13 triangle, it'll have the same area.

That's like saying you can shuffle a deck of cards and in a certain way one will just disappear.

The TRIANGLE does still have the same area. The "hole" can just be considered a new block. Both triangles are exactly the same, but the makeup  of the blocks isn't. It's odd looking, but that doesn't mind##### me one bit.

I think it looks weirder than it actually is.

John, the area of the triangle is 32.5, and the combined area of the objects is 32.

When they're perfectly arranged into a triangle like that, the area is optimized. If you try to mess around with it, as in the second image, you lose points. lol

I'm visually-dyslexic so I thought that the boy was a blow-up doll and the woman was real. And I was confused as to how she could stand like that! All sideways-like!
