Portal Lego would be better if they didn't add the effects. I always hated in my Legomaniac (that's right) magazines when they'd add Photoshop effects to their comics and what-not. I mean the whole idea was to make it with Lego.

For instance, they'd add fire effects on top of fire Lego. That's so lame.

And when Lego's "fiber optic" stuff was first coming out, they'd always add glow to it in the magazine, which made it look SO cool. But in real life it wasn't so hot.

I understand this in sports, but in entertainment shows (like The Aftershow) where they use this kind of thing I never understand why they don't draw pictures instead of always circling things.

But yeah, same here.

Someone sent me a picture the other day of a Thomas the Tank Engine transformer and I thought it was hilarious.

If I find it again, I'll post it here. I looks really similar to that one. And it was just the other day, so it's kind of a coincidence I guess.

I remember that scene. I don't think the bathtub thing was meant to be a suicide reference. I mean, he would have hopped in willingly. But yeah, being plugged in and falling into water would signify death. The clown might've been a little scary, but the rest of whatever makes it disturbing is probably just the music.

The movie has a lot of weird stuff going on, yes. Cars on a conveyer belt to their deaths, singing about their worthlessness. The song, "It's A B-Movie" as well can be considered pretty creepy. I don't think any of it is anything beyond "Are You Afraid of the Dark" scary. You'll give a little kid the creeps at worst.

It's just a little dark, is all.

There's always been that odd "kids-dark" atmosphere that nobody ever intentionally goes for, but sometimes ends up being the mood in certain kids things. It's not the same as a "dark" atmosphere that you would attribute with something like Edward Scissorhands or Donnie Darko.

Movies like The Brave Little Toaster and The Pagemaster are great examples of this, and I know there's more but those are the only two I can come up with without digging any further through the nostalgia-drawers in my brain.

It happens in videogames, too.
Donkey Kong Country 2 and Banjo-Tooie are two games that, on the surface are happy-go-lucky childish kids games, but deep down have a very dark and creepy atmosphere that is so unique and genuinely unsettling... but in a very appealing way.

Oh come on, it is so a reference to suicide! It's like a compilation of a toasters greatest fears: burning houses down, getting a fork stuck in it and being used for suicide.

It might have come off that way, I'm just saying it probably wasn't meant that way. But you could be right.

I think it was just more meant to show the ways that a toaster could be destroyed. I mean, it brings up the IDEA of suicide when it references a bathtub electrocution, but not the TOASTER'S suicide. It's just another way the came up with for him to die.

I'm always right.

Why else would a toaster be in a bathroom unless it was for suicide? This toaster freaking loves people, and it wants to do nothing but make yummy toast for them, this is why he fears being used as a tool for suicide.

That's because on the truck it says "Nonstop Action @ Nine", an ad from a TV Station called CH-9 Media in Malaysia.

The missile ballons were part of an outdoor ad which won the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Lions 2004 Award for Outdoor and Print.

I'd link to the Cannes Lions winners of '04 page, but you need an account to view this thing anyway so forget that.

"I. Am. The. New. God.  All is one in Darkseid.  This mighty body is my church.  When I command your surrender, I speak with three billion voices.  When I make a fist to crush your resistance, it is with three billion hands. When I stare into your eyes and shatter your dreams. And break your heart. It is with six billion eyes.

"Nothing like Darkseid has ever come among you: nothing will again.  I will take you to a hell without exit or end.

"And there I will murder your souls!

"And make you crawl and beg! And die! Die! Die for Darkseid!"
