Gruelling week of sleepless nights. And after my last class of the day-Life Drawing, doing brush pen drawings of a naked gross ginger man named Brent or some stupid thing- I am officially on reading week (spring break) now.
"Break" is the most bull##### thing they call it of course, since I literally have this much to do over it;
Animation Design IV -Rough Pan + approval (this will take like three attempts at the whole A to D pan Background G, which is around 42 inches wide). -Rough Flying machine in perspective + approval (I have one of the two angles done and he basically approved it today, so I have to get the other one done). -Rough Crash site + approval. -Thumbnails of crashed flying machine + approval. -Rough Flying machine flying animation keys. -Rough Interior cockpit views.
(^I might actually be forgetting something here, this is all one big assignment.)
Character Animation II -2 character dialogue - Thumbnails. Rough key animation. Background design.
Storyboarding II -Red Ninja part 2 - Thumbnails and rough storyboards.
Computers II -Walk Cycle animation in Harmony - Whole thing due. -Run Cycle animation in Harmony - Get started, I guess. Should have the keys done by the end of the break probably.
Those aren't my only classes, naturally, but those are the main stuff I've got to do for the first class of each after the break. I pretty much need to have all that done by or before Monday the 3rd of March, though.
A little breakdown for my design stuff there; First you do thumbnails up the ass until you get an approval, which is a major headache. Then you take the thumb and go on to full rough version, which is essentially the exact same as the final version but all the construction lines and crap on it and it's in a billion different colours so that you don't get lost when making it. And then you go through a bunch of roughs and then when you finally get that approved you need a few days or more to make the clean version.
It's rather mind numbing.

...we're in high school, so, uh, yes, the real drumlines you're thinking of are on an ENTIRELY different level.
I don't mean to sound arrogant, but yes, we are good. Second place in our class for the state of Michigan last year should speak enough, but this year's show right now, with our first competition being tomorrow, is already better than our state finals show last year.
The split in that video is extremely tough, and even though there are actually a couple ticks (errors) in the run-through from this particular video, that's only the one video. There are very few other bass-lines that can pull that off.

Keep in mind that a large amount of us, including Sano here, are Band geeks, ASR, and thus would have experience with a drumline.
Also, Sano, that was only one section of the whole drumline. I hope you realise that.
All that having been said, the bass drum is always the least attention-catching part of the drum line (in my experiences, anyway, as they're more for rhythm keeping), and keeping that in mind, the entire drumline piece must be pretty nice.
Your synch is really good, too. I'd love to see a video of the whole drumline working on the piece.

We don't know. We still haven't found a clear way of riding it. We're having tons of fun, though.
Oh, #####. I remember when those things came out. There were supposed to be multiple ways that you could ride it, but the only way that I can remember someone being able to ride it without looking like a complete douche was like a scooter. I also remember some of the kids trying to use it like a bobsled, but that usually ended with little success.
We pulled the bobsled shtick. I'm short enough to make it work by laying down, and we pushed it down the school hallways and full speed after hours. I figured out how to somewhat steer, too. The scooter way is stupid because we actually KEEP two scooters in the band room anyway, and the steering is inferior to the real thing so it's pointless to us. Yes, I'm bringing back Razor Scooters. I've already gotten 4 people to buy new ones, but mine is an original from over 10 years ago and in such horrible yet still working condition... The wheels used to be blue - they're green now. BIGGER NEWS: We had our first drumline competition of the season yesterday. In the morning we performed in the preliminary rounds, and got 1st place. So, we performed again later that night in the finals. We got 1st place again! We beat out 6 other drumlines, including the one that beat us last year at state finals. Anyway, we were there all day, from 7:00AM to 11:00PM. I slept in 'till 2 in the afternoon today.
