WOW.

So today starts, I have a calc test I have to take at 7.

It's the 6th month anniversary of my girlfriend and I.

Football bus leaves for New York at 10.
We get at out hotel (which is actually in Connecticut) at 6.
Eat, meetings blah blah blah.

THEN, it got interesting.

The team goes to get on the elevators. I'm going to floor 6 with some other guys. The door opens, nobody is inside, and there are no lights. The hotel is still partially under construction so we thing nothing of the lights being out and think it'll be a fun time.
We press the buttons for the 6th and 7th floors.
We stop on the 10th (top) level. Skipped 6th and 7th.
Whatever, no problem, back down in the same elevator to those floors.

Riding in a dark elevator is fun!

So I think it'll be funny to go all the way back to the ground floor and stand dead center of the elevator (no lights) to get a laugh out of some of the football guys for me being so creepy.
It worked.
So another 6 guys pile on, a little more tentative about no light then than first group.

We select floors 6 and 7.
I tell them that it might go up to floor 10 for no reason.
They're like 'yeah, psh, whatever.'

It almost does.

Problem was, it stopped with about 70% on the 9th floor and 25% on the tenth (space between floors mind you).
Only the 10th floor door opened, and some guy was cleaning up there. He shat some bricks when he saw an elevator only partially up the shaft, and ran to another guy down the hall.
So they're standing there dumbfounded while we're standing there like WTF do we do?

Our main concern was the elevator moving while we'd be climbing out.
After about 10 minutes some other guys show up and go around and lock the elevator in place, so we CAN climb out.

We all climb our way through that foot and a half gap and stand there. Mainly just talk about how cool that was.

Then we take the stairs down to our floors.
Now here I am.

tl;dr

I got stuck in an elevator.

HAAAAAA. Awesome.

Kind of freaky that only five percent of the doorway was actually the floor.

Chrom, STILL AWESOME.
Nobody was panicking though, so it was cool.
If one person had panicked that would have ruined the experience.

Maj, VERY THIN FLOOR.

I was surprised.

It was cool getting out and seeing the elevator shaft though.
Very compact.

I read all of Chron's explanation. And I get most of it. But with this, and similar things, I often get confused by that first level of work. I can't think of the proper analogy to explain what I mean right now.

I tried to explain it in as simple terms as I could.
... but I left some things out intentionally because going into them would make the post longer than this page of the thread.

I get it, and also don't.

I get that you make a computer that can understand simple stuff to make it remotely useable. And from there I get everything. But there's an inbetween missing. Like, between physically making parts of the computer and having it understand. How does it now understand? How it even knows what to show you when press something, or even knowing TO show something... Building blocks, you see.

But that is probably WHY I'd have to go to school for it.

You would be right. If you really want to know, go look up "Turing machine", but I hazard a guess you don't, so here's a youtube of Teisel's hamster Algernon:

Execrise John. He said Execrise.

Oh, today among a few other things, I visited Gamestop just to browse. I see a kid go to the DS section and he pointed to StarForce 2. He said...

"These games are old! That's Mega Man 2!"

I thought several things. One of them being, "Where's Rez!?"

Downloaded Gunz. Stared at the interface in complete bafflement. Watched tutorial and quest videos.

Had an odd vision of how an MMORPG universe would seem, if you visited them: Populated by heroes that are effectively immortal and can, with a dinky sword and a couple of pistols, rush into a room with a hundred goblins after their blood and believe firmly they have the upper hand. They don't need to eat or drink or sleep (though it doesn't hurt); they live to destroy monsters that aren't really all that tough, but never stop appearing.

And let's not even start with private server universes...

Went to an anime convention with Annie.

She has pictures, and I got one on my cell because the camera battery died, but I saw a bunch of people dressed up as:

Sephiroth
Cloud (Way too many of em)
Aeris
Yufi
Kefka
Pit (From Kid Icarus/Brawl)
3 Snakes from the first 3 MGS games.
WoW box
House
Franziska von Karma.
Pac-Man
Link with a girl dressed up as a fairy that held a sign reading "Hey! Listen!"
Joker from The Dark Knight (Heath)
Bat Girl
Ness*
Ash*
Naruto*
Kakashi*
Zolo*
Hard Gay* (srsly)

There were more, but those were the noticable ones. I'll edit if I remember*. Annie and I wore our 8-bit Mega Man shirts (I bought one at Hot Topic the other day) and nearly everyone commented on them surprisingly.

"That shirt is made of win!"
"Mega Man. Nice..."
"Awesome shirt"
"Dude, have you played Mega Man 9?"

I also bought a Gurren Lagann shirt that I will reveal one of these days, Haruhi playing cards, and the complete collection of Haruhi. A few other items I wanted but didn't buy was a T-shirt of a mario coin block that said "I'd hit that!" and the Master Sword/Hylian Shield. Unfortunately, the sword and shield was $100 so there was no way I was gonna buy it.

Overall, fun day.

Today I went to an anime convention with Chaos! It was a lot of fun, and yeah as he said many people loved our Mega Man shirts. I have pictures that I'll post when I can get on my computer. I bought a Phoenix Wright shirt with Edgeworth and it says "iObject" and I bought some handdrawn bookmarks and a pillow. And I bought Pocky and YanYan. I wanted to buy the Dragonball earrings but I didn't, cause they were overpriced but I wish I got them. And Taco Bell is the best. : D

"That shirt is made of win!"

People shouldn't talk like that in real life.

Anyway I think it's dumb enough people dress up that much at conventions, but dressing as characters that aren't from the subject material (non-anime characters at an anime con, for example) is just really stupid. It's not a halloween party.

Fauxrientals make me hate myself for liking Pocky.

I was disappointed I only saw one Ace Attorney cosplayer. I wanted to take her picture but she ignored me. Whatever.

What I thought was dumb was a T-Shirt I saw that said "I'm missing World of Warcraft for this!?"

And too much Naruto.

Oh yeah, there were Naruto Cosplayers. Kakashi was the only good one, in my opinion.

I think it would be pretty fun, as long as you're not over obsessing about it. But then my better judgment kicks in.

Nothin' wrong with liking pocky, its the bastards who group you in with the fauxrientals that you should hate.

What I'm saying is, there's no reason for someone to cosplay as House at an anime convention.

Ick..

I had a dream where my cast was back on, and I was so cheesed off. I wrote on it again with a permanent marker, stuff like "NOOOT AAAAGAAAAAAAAIN!!!!1"

Then I was being hunted down by one of the teachers at my school, because I was skipping apparently. He was some Harrison Ford type guy, fugitive style, you know the kinds of movies. So I'm running around freaking out, and I end up in some lesbians house where nobody's home. And I wander upstairs, and I see in one room, my old SNES with all my old games..

So when I'm looking up info to contact mayors and reeves and CAOs and stuff it gets pretty boring so dumb stuff will liven me up.

One of these today was the postal code "L3Z2A7". I read postal codes in my own sort of code in my head so I can remember them better until I put them down. L3Z2A7 transfers into Lez twat. Ha.

Another one was the name of some mayor or something. His name was Dick Beitz. Yep. Dick bites.

The only other one I remember was the website for the Township of Guelph/Eramosa. So what it means is Guelph Eramosa Township dot Ontario dot Canada but the url is get.on.ca.

And yeah. My day was like that. But my boss left at 8am sick and Carolyn didn't come in (of course) so I basically had the run of the place except for Al being there. But I dislike him incredibly and luckily my part of the office is sectioned off from his and he had to leave the office a lot anyway. But everything he said to me pissed me off anyway because I felt sick all day.

Still, L3Z2A7 haha.

My girl took me to a Hockey Game, the first game this season that the Bruins played at home. It was against The Penguins, and as Alyssa (aforementioned girl) is from Pennsylvania, we went and watched.

After going in to Overtime, and then to the shootout, Pens won, 2-1, much to the dismay of every Bostonite there, and to the delight of Alyssa.

I of course, didn't particularly care about the outcome since, hey, The Kings weren't playing.

We had a lot of fun though, and she's coming over on Thursday this week, rather than me going out there for a change.

Haha "The Kings", as if.

The funniest part of Love Guru was that the Toronto Maple Leafs and the LA Kings were playing for the Stanley Cup. Well, the second funniest part actually.

Those are the sorts of moments that are really funny but in a personal way only to yourself unless you can convey them in the correct context. I have a lot of those. That still is pretty funny to me because I can appreciate that sort of thing.

Yeah exactly.

The coworker I dislike got a bit yelled at this morning. Which I was listening to. And reveled.  It was good because for the hour and a half I was there before that, I was really out of it and that got me right into the day.
