I'm thinking he got into some way-crazy time-vortex adventure thing where's technically been gone for a long time but in his own personal timeline, it's only been 24 hours.

There were definitely velociraptors.

And shirtless photo-shoots.

The majority of it was him posing to get pictures taken while fighting robots pirates on the back of a velociraptor.

That sounds a little unrealistic.

No it doesn't. He's fought robots, his ancestors fought pirates, but he hasn't been shown fighting "robots pirates" yet!

Anyway...


Getting off an hour and half early from work because your Internet Explorer went bat##### and decided you need a network username and password to do anything (even Google!) is good.

Using some but not all of that time to get next month's bus pass before the rush, buying birthday presents, and getting yourself a CD you've wanted for the same price as as many years you've wanted it (10) is great.

But walking through the parking lot from the bus at 3:30 at seeing that wild turkey AGAIN and getting crappy photos with your cell phone is holy-f priceless.

"Evil Empire" by Rage Against The Machine. For whatever reason, I never get RATM CDs even though they're my favourite. Probably because I know their CDs will always be there.

I need to get The Battle Of Los Angeles again though, because a friend decided to never return the disc (I still have the case and book).

Anyway.. I now know how to get photos off my phone. These all look a lot farther away than I was, so it's kind of blob (it was doing stuff under it's wings with it's birdface). I went in closer but then it's head went straight up (people, who didn't notice it somehow, were walking by talking) so I backed off. Also, people were inside the Gryphon building and some guy seemed mad because I think he knew it was there outside the door but didn't know what to do about it.

In hindsight I should have taken a video.

I wish it was a bit better, like double the size.
And I wish it had a #####ing flash.
And everything photgraphs farther away than it looks on the screen and in real life.

Anyway I didn't notice--and I'm naming him here--Turk McGuirk's foot prints until just now.

So. Who else is ready for Black Friday?

I've saved up $50 specifically for a trip to Best Buy tomorrow, though honestly I'll probably cave in and go over that budget, especially if the "Always Sunny" DVD's are on sale.
I was also thinking about finally getting The Office on DVD because every season will all be $15 each. Same with House, which is the even bigger shocker since that usually goes for $50. I'm crossing my fingers on Lost Season 3, because I just got the first two from a friend for the low-low price of $20... but I don't see anything about Lost in any of the catalogues online or off.

What really bothers me is things like all of Entourage going for $10 each season when I spent $30 on each one, and the same for Weeds but upped about $5 on counts.

John, it's not hard at all to rip any book in half. No matter how THICK the book is, the binding is all the matters.

Unless you can rip in half the red line below, then I'm not impressed.

I have no desire to rip a phone book in half unless I'm in front of a crowd of gullible and easily-impressed beautiful women who have no idea that it's actually very easy to do and it's at least a year old so I don't actually destroy any information I might concievably need later, say, the number for Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency or something.

Today I got DDR SuperNova with the pad included for 15 bucks.
I went shopping after all the trampling #####.
I'm going home tomorrow, but instead of leaving early around 10am as planned I'm going to have to wait around about 6 hours so my dad can waste my time with stupid crap I don't even give a ##### about.
So, by the time I get home there won't be much of a day left.
That's bull#####.

I went into Boston again, to look at more places.

Three in fact. One scheduled earlier in the day, and two at night.

Right after I got to Boston around 2:45, the earlier one canceled. One of the night ones canceled on the train.

So basically, I had to kick around for three-four hours, and went to the only mall I know of in town.

Went to Barnes and Noble, and delighted to see a Will Eisner's Spirit pop-up book, LoEG, this big 24 best crime stories book (two penned by Alan Moore, and sadly, only one Spirit story), among other things.

And lo and behold, there it was. The deceptively hard to find book that I always check for when I enter a book store...

I read Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul ('bout... Five years ago), and wanted to read the first one ever since!

And it was pretty cheap too!

And the check-out girl, I think was awkwardly flirting with me, and I may have. awkwardly, flirted back. I have no idea. I am incredibly dense when it comes to situations like these anyway.


I went to see the one place that didn't cancel on me. It was alright, but might be too expensive for me. Oh well.

You're in for a treat. I'd love Long Dark Tea Time a whole lot more if the first Dirk Gently wasn't so #####ing fantastic that it completely overshadowed it.

You're lucky you read it first because you'll appreciate it all that much more. It was a let-down after how amazing the first one was. Like, DGHDA is just that good.

I've been thinking about getting that House of Leaves book. I hear good things about it, and the whole complex weaving of those crazy ideas really appeals to me.

Oh, and I shoved three chilli peppers into my mouth today without ever having had one before.

It hurt.

But now I'm a man.

Though i read the first three chapters, I'm gonna finish up hey Rube before really getting into DGHDA.

But I'm already past half way through it, since Hunter S. Thompson books tend to be fast reads anyway.

I'm honestly not much of a reader, though I've recently decided that I really ought to be. So I'm going to read a bit more, maybe.

Oh, and I skimmed through The Salmon of Doubt yesterday now that I'm back home, to check for where you would have gotten Zaphod's inclusion from. Because I was scared maybe I was wrong and actually had forgotten. They just included the short story "Young Zaphod Plays It Safe." The inside flap says something like "visits with Dirk Gently and Zaphod Beeblebrox" so at first I was like "Maybe Lunche was right and I totally did forget?!"

But yeah, skimmed through the actual fragmented Salmon of Doubt and Zaphod is indeed not part of that. Just his short story is in the book.

I didn't just get back now, but DAMN I WAS IN BED AND I WAS IN THAT STATE WHERE I WAS JUST ABOUT TO GO TO SLEEP.

I've decided not to go to sleep at all now.

If was asleep napping when a fire alarm went off, I probably wouldn't get out of bed, whether or not it was real.

Yeah, I probably would have slept through it if I was asleep for at least an hour.

BUT DAMN IT

So far my day has been annoying. I need to return my broken RockBand guitar through purolator and I finally found a location. I walk around town looking for the bus station to it. Turns out I was waaaaaaay off, going in a complete circle back to residence.

Then I finally get to the bus stop and just missed my bus. I then waited for over an hour for the same bus to return. I've seen this same bus go by three times, and another one twice before the bus I need to go on gets here.

I finally get to the Purolator stop. Turns out that it's closed on Sunday. I felt that the irony was delicious.

Then I went to the HMV near-by because I've been looking for one for a while and it just so happened to have been near where I was. I went in looking for One Piece Season 1 Part 2. I walked out with a special edition of Gurren Lagann Set 1. It was an impulse buy.

I then went to this small video game store called Microplay. It has a bunch of games to buy, rent, and you can sell some too so it was pretty cool. I bought Chrono Trigger for the DS.

Finally back in my room. Its only 1PM. So far the day has been looooong but the fact that I didn't go to sleep last night probably has something to do with that.

Microplay is cool enough, but I hate the owner and his daughter a lot. The daughter dated my friend and another friend of mine worked at the one in Orleans.

Anyway you should go to CD Warehouse instead of HMV, there's one on Merivale. Big sign, across the street from Denny's and behind a great shawarma place.

You'll find HMVs at every mall though.

Never heard of CD Warehouse, but if its anything cheaper than HMV (which most other places are) then I'll definitely check it out one day. Its just that HMV is the only place that I know of that casually carries anime and I really wanted that One Piece DVD.

There are probably some specialty shops somewhere but I really don't have the time to look for one at the moment.

If you want anime then there's a store, also on Merivale, called the Anime Stop, which is an offshoot of The Comic Book Shoppe next door. Normally I wouldn't recommend The Comic Book Shoppe over my store for much, but if you want anime DVDs then they're little Anime Stop thing is probably a good bet.

CD Warehouse doesn't have the BEST prices, but it can be cheaper than HMV and there's a lot more of everything. Thus the term "Warehouse".
