system("COLOR 2B") b('_'d)

Edit: It makes the text blue, however, so you have to do some annoying coding like including Widnows.h and then creating a HANDLE object and create a long string of code (SetConsoleTextAttribute(hOut, FOREGROUND_RED | FOREGROUND_GREEN | etc...)) just to change the text colour.

That's where #define comes in! :D

I'm home.

I didn't have complications from micro-surgery.

I'm without a gallbladder now, as well as several gallstones.

My pancreas was basically blocked up with stones to the point of digesting itself with bile.

Several follow-up appointments in the coming weeks.

I'm out of work for two weeks (medical orders).

In six-to-eight weeks, I'm getting the plastic tube out of my bile duct / pancreas (non-surgical procedure), and will be back to not throwing up every hour.

I had a kidney stone when I was, like, seven or eight. Can't remember. But basically everyone else associates it with old geisers and here I was, a youngster with a kidney stone.

It was REALLY painful. REALLY REALLY REALLY painful.

At that point, the actual game isn't programmed yet, just the ASCII and the dealing of the cards.

Since it's possible to have up to 11 cards at any time (4 aces, 4 twos, and three threes), I've programmed the game to only be able to deal up to 11 cards and 11 cards only.

I just read the introductory paragraph to some long thing about dissertations--you can go find it, can't miss it-- and laughed because it clearly wasn't proofread.

It's Blackjack's brother, Blackjohn.

Or El Capitaìn Juan De La Negro, for short, as his friends call him.

Their other brother, Blacksheep, is generally forgotten and his brothers don't like to be associated with him.

There's been a lot of fun stuff in my life going on that I keep saying I'll post but now I just don't care to post any of it so nevermind!

I just got the book House of Leaves. I've been wanting to read it for a while. Very excited.

ASCII WORKS!

It was ONLY 200 lines of code! *eye twitch*

Bidding should also theoretically work. Next is the game itself (including AI for the dealer).

I love my code. ;D

(Yes I know 10 looks weird but there's no way to make it look exactly like the card without expanding the sizes)

So far all I've done is flip through it to freak out at how weirdly its written. Too busy reading The Stand by Stephen King anwyay, which is pretty awesome so far, showing me that I haven't read all of his GOOD books yet.

House of Leaves is so #####ing awesome so far.

Like, it's totally shocking me me at how much I love it. Everything is so interesting and well-thought out.

You keep forgetting that it's fiction even though you KNOW it's not. Like, for those who don't know, it's about this guy, Johnny Truant, who finds a book in a dead man's apartment and starts reading it. That book was written by the dead guy, called Zampano, and it's a detailed review of a movie that doesn't actually exist, called The Navidson Record. That movie is a documentary supposedly filmed by a famous photographer who moved into a country house with his family, and they find out that the house is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

It's littered with notes from Johnny. There's constant footnotes on every page, from Zampano, from Johnny, and from The Editors.

The reason you start forgetting that it's fiction is because of how layered everything is, and how much is written referencing to real things and fake things that sound real. While Johnny is reading Zampano's book, he continuously makes notes about how whatever he's referencing isn't real, and how the movie doesn't exist, things like that... so as you start agreeing with Johnny, you forget that HE'S fake, too.

And it's a horror story. An actually unsettling and frightening horror story. It's given me chills and I'm hardly even that far in at all yet.

There's a haunting part where Johnny tells you to not look away from the words on the page and imagine an atrocious beast just out of your sight, seconds away from digging his teeth "(or is it nails?)" into your jugular. So effective.

Second full day home, and I'm doing pretty well.

Top incision is infected, but the doc just said to put rubbing alcohol on it thrice a day, so it doesn't seem too serious.

My diet's basically back to normal; still have to eat slowly, though.

Today my BlackBerry decided it has the right to just delete my entire text/call log about every 8 minutes.
So now if I miss any calls and don't check my phone in the next 7 minutes or so, I'm #####ed.
If I get a text and can't take out my phone that very minute I'm #####ed too.
I've tried everything to fix it, nothin's worked.
So yeah, major bull##### sandwhich.

Maaaan that sucks ass.

My new phone doesn't have Caller ID (I know, right? It's like seven bucks a month to add it!) so I know how you feel about the missed calls, but yours is worse 'cause it doesn't even say you missed a call plus I still get the names and stuff on texts.

Funny, I've been having cell phone problems too.

First my friend calls me out of no where, asking why I called and hanged up. I didn't call him anytime before that.

Then my mom calls me out of no where, asking why I called and hanged up. I didn't call her anytime before that either.

It's going to start #####ing with people's minds if it doesn't stop and will start to annoy everyone around me.

Me? I find it amusing but am confused as to why it would call for no reason. While its in sleep mode, too.

My phone dials the last person I called or that called me quite a bit. It happens when it's in Lock mode and I'm bending over or something, so the friction pressed the unlock button and then the send button twice or something. No clue. It happens more than I'd like it to.

House of Leaves is slowly destroying my sanity.

Gotta' go to a surprise party later tonight.

I've come THIS close to slipping up the secret to her like 5 times, most of which were at a dinner I went to the other night. And I know you can't see how close my index finger and thumb are together to emphasize the "THIS" but just imagine that they are, indeed, very close together.

Now that I'm home and I see that it's only 11:35, I realize how short that party was.

Huh.

But I had fun.

Before the surprise-ee arrived, we were decorating the entire apartment with sheets of colored paper that I was just writing different messages on. I papered the walls with that #####.

Things like "Remember not to drunk if you're too drive."

And, written backwards but clearly visible via the reflection in the bathroom mirror: "If you can read this you're not wasted enough yet."

Oh, and of course "DON'T TELL KERRI ABOUT THE SURPRISE PARTY!"

Now that I'm home and I see that its only 5:05, I realize how long that party was.

Indeed.

Loads of fun though.

We watched a bunch of Christmas movies (Rudolf, Grinch, etc) and we opened our presents. We did a Secret Santa thing. I got a sweater, which I actually wanted because I only have 5 sweaters, and that's two less for an entire week.

I also bought chocolates for everyone. Alcohol chocolates. I was so damn nervous buying that at the self checkout, thinking someone was going to stop me or something. But I got through, which gives me a good idea on how easy it is to buy alcohol now a days. But anyway, I only had two and they were both bleh. Everyone else enjoyed it, though.

Oh, and of course we played loads of video games. Mostly Final Fantasy VII with me, Metal Gear Solid with one of my friends, and Super Mario RPG with another friend.
