I don't like beer...
I learned that Thanksgiving.

Also today I fixed my phone!
I took the battery out and then put it back in.
Problem solved.

Only some beer is worth drinking.

I currently can't drink soda or alcohol until the stomach finishes healing.

I didn't get any wine on Thanksgiving because of my stomach thing. >:|

We've had bitter cold weather and snow for the last week.

Now it's over 50, rainy, and awesome outside.

Bus strike has the city on a #####ing lockdown, traffic-wise. Plus yesterday's snowfall didn't help. It's ridiculous, it took over an hour and a half to drive to work today, and I left early!

Normally I get up at quarter to seven, and leave at ~20 after seven to take the bus and get to work for eight. Today I got up earlier, and finally finished getting snow off and from around the car at like 7:25 but got to work at quarter after NINE.

And then my boss was like O_O surprised I even showed up and said "It's only you and me, I was about to go home." So instead, he did some stuff while I looked at White Ninja Comics on the computer until we took out a truck and went to the Canada building to get something, brought it back to John Edmonds North Tower, and then he went home at noon and said I could leave whenever, pretty much. I got out of the parking lot at 3:30 and JUST got home ten minutes ago and am in a horrible mood.

I just competed in a Rock Band contest.

My band, "For Great Justice" won it.
I was vocalist. Apparently I'm a good singer.

We were judged by stage presence and not score, so anybody could play.
It was a darn good time.
It's hard to learn songs in 20 hours to sing in front of people.
I'm not used to Rock Band songs....

Hey Mike, how far is it to walk? Might save you time and gas, depending on how bad traffic is... even if that doesn't help much, it might make you feel better to get exercise out of it.

It would take hours to walk. It's going from the east end to downtown, which is a fifteen minute drive on the highway/freeway (100kmh) when there's no other cars on the road and it's dry. Haha to walk, you'd have to take an even less direct route, and it would rather be dead before you're halfway there.

And then, there's a gross amount of unplowed sidewalk, which makes the walking effort doubletime.

You can't bike on the snow, more-hawn, you slip and slide all over into people and cars and #####. And ##### if I'm gonna obey the law and bike on the road when the snow banks AREN'T jutting into it.

Driving/bussing is the only way to get downtown in the winter.

Also, they either neither to invent the rocket car or the rocket backpack (both of which we were supposed to have by now) because this pedestrians and automobiles sharing the same horizontal plane ##### is so not working out.

And I don't understand why people get MORE daring with their driving in WORSE conditions. They are like "This is more dangerous, so I'll take more risks than I would I #####ING AM SMART DUHRDEEDOOCHEETOS!"

So this one kid lives one door down from me across the hall, and he's one the cooler kids in my hallway. I hang out with him a bit.

But tonight.

Tonight, man.

He came in my room and talked at me for about 3 hours.

I do mean talked at me.

He's still cool, but goddamn this kid can talk.

Is it a good thing that he can talk?

Today my friends and I went to that Anime shop Mike mentioned earlier in this thread.

Since it couldn't be a 5 minute bus ride, it had to be a 15 minute walk. Except it took us 40 minutes because of how much snow there was due to people not shoveling sidewalks.

God damn it was wet. And they didn't have my One Piece DVDs either! But we're going back one day because they did have tons of stuff. And I mean TONS.

I bought the complete set of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, though. $40.

He's a cool kid. Like, he's a couple years older and even though we've hung out we've never really talked much one-on-one. But, I mean, this kid has too many stories, and I've been around enough people to know when they start fabricating 'em.

So, he was having fun telling stories, and even if I can't say for sure whether or not he was pulling them out of his ass as he went, I don't really care. I had nothing better to do and he's certainly not annoying or anything.

I'm seriously considering converting this velveteen jumper into a fancier dress.

It's perfect for a just-below-the-knee party dress if I just fix up the neckline and straps, and if I take the waist in a bit.

Maybe a zipper up the side, too...

Christmas is in like, two weeks, and we still have no tree. Just last night my mom and I put up some Christmas lights inside the house, and put up some decorations.  Today we're finally getting a tree...and Chaos is coming over and is gonna help decorate.  And put up lights outside.  I'm so excited!  We really needed some Christmas decorations around here...

A tree is not what Christmas is about.
Especially where you live.

In Maine, we go out into the woods and chop down our own Christmas trees.
That's what Christmas is about, arguing which tree to have me chop down.

Apparently we used real trees in my home too. My dad went outside every year before Christmas and cut one down from our backyard.

But I was far too young to remember. Now we have a stupid fakey tree. >:(

Sorry but you're not allowed to express hatred for fake trees unless you've previously (or in this case remember) enjoyed the splendor of a real one.

SORRY BUT YOU CAN'T JOIN THIS CLUB.

Oh? Wanna know how my day was?

I'm home yet again because last night, there were gun threats/shooting threats written all over the walls in various bathrooms at school.

They didn't close the school for the day of course, but a very small portion of people actually showed up.

We used to go out every year and get a relatively small, live tree, and plant it in a pot. After Christmas, we'd plant it in the woods behind my grandparents' house.

I miss the smell of the live tree. D:

Today, I had my follow-up appointment. I CAN HAVE BATHS AGAIN, HUZZAH! ;_;

I also got those stupid strips off the incisions, and am apparently healing up very nicely.

So, yeah. I'm healing perfectly. I've got bruising where the incision went through the muscle, but that's it.

Well, that and random abdominal pain that strikes late at night, though that might have been the mixture of having a carbonated soda right after wine. :\

Damn, that Merlot was good, though. Boysenberry and chocolate~

For some reason, I tend to taste the alcohol more with white wines, with a few exceptions.

I'm a sucker for a full-bodied wine, though, and I have a strong preference for Merlot in general.

Also, ha! I take complex planes. >:3

With alcoholic drinks that aren't beer, I find I can't feel how much it's effecting me. With wine it's only a bit more delayed, but with things like rum or vodka it's almost not there though I know it must be.

I like vodka, too, as well as Irish creme and Kahlua and a few other things, but I'd have to say that a good apricot ale is still my favourite alcohol. I also like to blaspheme by making cocktails with wines.
