Picked up a DSi today on an impulse, felt (of course) obligated to make a post on it.

Based on the way it handles, this is going to be the only such post.

I know you're waiting to talk about the improv thing so just do it. Nevermind.

In a somewhat related note I was on my cell outside a bar last night, and there's a Yuk Yuk's next door, and I watched a comedian I really like go walk inside with this look on my face like a dumbass. Not really, I didn't look like anything. he's a comedian I really like but not like super famous or anything so I was trying to remember his name and I remembered it ONLY after he'd gone in. I would've gone to see him if I knew/it wasn't my frienemy's birthday party next door.

I got him Lego Batman for his XBox. Which he could have been more excited about because I'm pretty sure I kicked everyone else's gifts collective asses in price AND gift awesomeness. A) My gift cost more than our other friends except maybe one but that probably didn't cost as much as mine. And B) Take this into account; He just got a 360 and only has a few games, he likes Lego a bunch, and he's a MASSIVE fan (in size and geekometry) of Batman. I kicked his birthday's #####ing ass.

This morning I met up with some of the people from last night for breakfast at the Elgin Street Diner (which by the way Winduh, is open twenty-four--what--hours) and said frienemy's uncle who works there payed for us so I got stuffed for the low price of a few hours less sleep. Then I drove some people to work. The rest of the day sucked though.

Today I picked up the Marvel 70th anniversary poster book. And hung most of them up (the rest of them are issues/heroes I'm not familiar with)

It's too bad they're all double sided, so I had to choose between some really good covers like ol' Wolverine with Hulks reflection in his claws cover. There was also a #####ING HOWARD THE IRON DUCK COVER JESUS CHRIST.

That's pretty rad.

I like it.

I finally get to some stand-up for the first time since I've been home! A while ago, I realized that I know a good amount of local bands in the area, so I contacted all of them and demanded that they let me open for them with a comedy act sometime.

Sha-zam! This Friday I've got a gig. Very much looking forward to it.

The fun part is that I'm good friends with all four members of the band - good enough to be able to have written some funny material about all of them, so I'll get to riff on them before they go up. That'll be extra-special.

I don't know if I'll record it. That means I have to lug around my camera, find someone who I can trust to A) not break/lose it, B) not laugh like a maniac and drown out the video anyway, and C) hold the camera steady so it's not an unwatchable shaky mess. Oh, and D) find a good spot to actually film from.

Also, this is going to be a longer set. Probably 10-12 minutes.

Dudes, I've had this idea for a while of creating a profile on Facebook for "Fans" so you could "Become a Fan of Fans."

But today I found out that they won't let you do that!

So I made a page for SUPPORTERS.

So, Become a Fan of Supporters.

I don't do the fan thing very often.

I'm only a fan of Simon Pegg, Robert Downey Jr., and Neil Patrick Harris.

Also of two friends of mine - one's a comedian, the other is just a band.

I still wish I could've made it "Become A Fan of Fans."

I'm only a fan of local bands/groups that are friends of mine or something similar and even then not all of them, just ones I genuinely like a lot. So there's only two on there. One of them broke up.

Which leads me to my next thing, I've recently found of a bunch of old videos and stuff and I'm in the process of getting them all together to upload to facebook and such. I had a bunch of videos from the final show by said band that I was really proud of and wanted to put up, but I can't find them and I'm really pissed. They were probably on my old computer and got wiped even though I'm very certain I'd transferred them over. Annoying.

Anyway I was putting Carifesta footage together today and my power went out in the afternoon. So I finished Life, the Universe, and Everything. The book, that is. And then I went to a buffet in Quebec, so I feel well fat.

This story is mainly for Mike, but everyone should enjoy.

I've spent most of the day at a friend's house for a birthday gathering thing. They have two dogs. They have two dog cages.

I was getting ready to go home, but one of our friends had an idea: "Hey, guys, if I go into this dog cage, will you give me five bucks?"

Obviously, everyone said no. Even though it was a tiny cage.

We had just changed the channel and Louis CK's most recent stand-up special was on Comedy Central, so I knew I wasn't going to actually leave until it was done.

So, I had my own idea: "Dude, if you get in the cage and STAY there until I leave, I'll give you TEN dollars."

Because I didn't plan on leaving for another thirty minutes.

And like I said, it was a tiny cage.

I hand him the ten dollars, and tell him if he gets out of the cage before I leave, he has to give it back.

He manages to fit inside, and everyone is cracking up and having a good time, because this is funny. He literally cannot move in there, it looks extremely uncomfortable, etcetera - I knew he was going to get out of the cage and I'd get my ten dollars back.

About 10 minutes later, he gives up. "Not worth it." He gets out of the cage and then refuses to give my ten dollars back.

Suddenly, I had another idea.

"Slap bet."

The two friends in the room who have seen How I Met Your Mother instantly looked at me, grinning.

"What?"

"Slap bet."

I know this isn't technically a slap bet since it kind of just TRANSFORMED into one, but my god was it just as fun:

"What are you talking about?"

"You can keep the ten dollars if you let me slap you three times right now, or five times at any random point for the rest of our lives."

After some convincing, he finally agreed to it.

He chose the three quick slaps, unfortunately. The five forever would have been more fun.

But hoo boy.

*SLAP!*

"OW, #####, OW, OW, THAT REALLY #####ING HURT, GODDAMNIT" etc. etc.

So much fun.

"THIS ISN'T WORTH IT, I'M DONE, TAKE YOUR TEN DOLLARS"

"Dude, you already got one slap! Just take two more like a man!"

"...f-fine..."

"I'll do it gentler this time, just close your eyes and-" *SLAP!*

"WHAT THE ##### MAN, NO WARNING?! #####. #####. ##### THAT HURT."

Such a fantastic night.

"Oh, sorry, next time I'll-" *SLAP!*

JUST AWESOME.

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND REAL-LIFE SLAP BETS.

Ha, now that this happened, my friends have been trying to make everything into a slap bet all day today. Over such tiny things, like whether or not someone is going to make a basket in a basketball game (I should either learn to like basketball or stop hanging out with people who do.)

But yeah, nobody's following through with any of them and I told everyone we have to not do it for a while anyway so the next time will be as funny. And it has to actually be something big.

Oh! By the way I've been in pain for weeks because one of my doctors is either retarded or doesn't know what Crohn's Disease is which would be forgiveable if he wasn't a damn doctor.

I DID have to give it a few weeks, before you say anything. Something about giving it time to set in and make sure it's working properly, which it isn't. 380 dollars down the drain; 320 to treat an auto-immune disorder, the rest to negate the treatment.

(Insurance takes 90% off the cost of this drug, it's not covered by OHIP)

I'm going to call tomorrow.

And... #####, I'm sorry, I don't complain much, but I guess I felt like doing so for once. I think of my condition as having a bimonthly period for two weeks and that's not so bad considering it's probably not as bad as having your period anyway. And I deal with that, despite it being costly and that I feel kind of bad for squeezing an insurance company for thousands of dollars every two months which might be a weird thing to feel but I do. This new ##### just makes it much worse though and it's annoying having difficulty working up to par with increased pain and energy deficiency.

Not to mention my mental state in general keeps getting worse.

First day on payroll.

It's been... eventful, and just me with the kids for the most part.

I honestly don't know why my boss expects me to have absolutely everything down to a science after only two weeks (this being my second time alone with the kids, and nothing was where it was supposed to be), but here's hoping for a little mercy on being half an hour behind schedule.

All the kids are here, too, except one who we took home because of her behaviour following an incident.

We don't have enough cribs for all the babies, either.

So, yesterday, Annie got me a new wallet!

You've probably seen it before, it's from Hot Topic. It's in the shape of an NES controller, with the inside of the wallet filled with 8-bit coins from Super Mario Bros. Aside from that, it's better than my old wallet for sure. I can fit more stuff in this one.

And yeah, I dunno if it was mentioned before, but the past week has been filled with nothing but rain and flood. The lake outside Annie's house flooded out into the streets and into everyone's houses. She has flood insurance and it didn't touch much (she lives a little bit higher up), but a lot of neighbors aren't so lucky. Although the water is back off the streets, the carpet from most of the rooms of the house has been stripped away and is being replaced soon. That's just about all that's damaged.

Countless other homes on the block have ruined furniture and priceless items though, so it really sucks.

Also, those Mega Man shoes? She ordered them, and is now wearing them. They're actually pretty cool to see in person. I'm tempted to get some.

I'm seriously reconsidering my new job.

After finally getting a hold of my boss this morning (after trying several times last night, when she told me to), she told me she'd know at ten if I was needed, and would call me to tell me.

She never called. Not once.

There are some other sketchy things going on, too.

Today I finally got off my ass and went to the closest cemetery I could find to take photos for the backgrounds of the first episode of The Simple Complex.

Most of the episode takes place at a cemetery, so, yeah. I figured I'd need a lot of pictures for different angles and stuff.

I went a little overboard. 121 photos.

I felt like a stereotypical art student at a graveyard for some "dark" photos for a portfolio!

But it was actually pretty cool, and I got some great stuff.

I took a handful of more artsy ones that won't be used as backgrounds, but are still really cool. I still feel like a lame-ass art kid, though.
